It was the only pure pvp arena in game, all the other maps are infested with pve objectives (“slay the enemy lord”) or annoying gimmicks like trebs or orbital skycancer cannons of doom =(

Chill dmg seems broken

Srsly? People seem to complain about everything these days.

When running a full condi build chill does 650 base dmg and just like Kharr stated it will be the least of your problems when the necro reaches high levels of might.

I’ve seen Engineers do 19k burn dmg in 3 ticks, if you want to complain about condis start there please and leave necros alone :P

Game crashing

Likewise, my game keeps crashing constantly, esp. on full maps. These crashes would only be a minor annoyance if gw2 did actually function like most other mmorpgs and I would retain my spot (and position) on the map, unfortunately this isn’t the case here and I keep losing lots of time and progression because I’m denied boss kills etc. whenever the client dies.

Had no such problems prior to HoT.

Likewise, but the game was very stable for me prior to HoT launch. 100% world completion on one char, 3 chars to 80 in EotM, dozens of world bosses with full maps and not a single ctd over the course of the last month. Now the game keeps crashing on a hourly basis, esp. in zergy environments like EotM, which is maddening because every single crash can cost you 10 minutes or more because of how difficult it can be to catch up with the com-train.

How would you rate the HoT Fun Factor?

- horrible maze maps…..
…..that feel artificially convoluted……
…..prevent any fluid gameplay……
…..make the game feel like a platformer (I HATE PLATFORMERS)
- disappointingly little actual content (that’s why they had to gate everything)
- being forced into certain content -> no mastery xp in wvw, no mastery xp from crafting, no tyria mastery in maguuma…etc. = can’t play the game the way I’d like to without losing progress anymore
- generally a lot less convenient and accessible than the base game
- no love for pvpers
- no love for solo players

+ amazing art style
+ (would) enjoy the new elite specs (if they were not gated behind tedious mastery grind and horrid hero challenges [vampire, frogsofdoom….etc.])

Fantastic maps, poor hero points

I did spend several hours trying to farm some Hero Points, but after some hours of wandering about those overly convoluted maze maps I decided to leave for old Tyria, because I just couldn’t put up with the frustration of finding yet another unsoloable or mastery gated Hero Challenge anymore.

Is a group required for player progression?

At least 80% of Hot’s Hero Challenges are either unsoloable or gated behind tedious mastery grind.

One word: horrid! By far the worst map design I’ve ever seen.

How I’d define the exact opposite of fun? → being expected to wander about endless endlessly confusing multi level claustrophobic ragged corridor maze maps filled to the brim with dead ends.

Good thing the much hyped new elite spec’s aren’t gated behind endless xp grinds that can only be done on those aforementioned fun-ridden maps……..
