I really had a hard time finding a better place to put this question, so I hope it’s alright here. Anyways…
I love the 1h sword. No, not any class-specific skills. You could say I like to role-play, and I love the idea of 1h sword and imho the swords in GW2 look great. If you don’t think so, that’s fine, your opinion!
I would like to know what class benefits most from using a sword, between warrior, guardian, and mesmer. (don’t want to get into thief) Warrior seems to be fun and I like the jump. Guardian seems cool to me especially as an “arcane warrior” style class, but it seems like a lot of people think of guards to be spin-to-winners. I haven’t got into the mesmer much yet, but it’s potentially complex playstyle is alluring. I’m an ele main, and I love complex and dynamic combat. Tank-and-slash has never been my play style.
So can you guys help me out? Combined with the off-hand weapons available when using the sword, which class will I have the most fun with / use the sword the most? Thanks!
I believe the answer lies with this thread actually: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/System-Date-Affects-Daily-Achievements-Merged/first
I noticed that my system clock was, in fact, not correct. Upon changing it, some of my Daily achievements changed completely and all are now progressing as usual.
Case closed.
After playing in Wayfarer Foothills for ~30mins and killing quite a few different things I noticed that my daily Kill Variety Achievment was still at 0%.
I made a specific point to go kill different types of enemies, including skelk, ice wurms, dolyaks, freshwater crabs, tamini. However DKV remained at 0%.
I have played in both Wayfarrer Foothills and Genderran Fields as a lvl80 Asura Elementalist, not in a party. I have also confirmed these observations as a lvl11 Sylvari Mesmer in Caledon Forest against fireflies, mosquitoes, stags, and forest spiders. also not in a party.
Simple question: when I grant regeneration to nearby allies, is the strength of the healing on Ally 1 based on my healing power, or Ally 1’s healing power?
cheers
I hear people talking about farming in Orr all the time, which is good, because then you have a good chance of other people coming along to help you. However I’ve found the range of T5 crafting mats to be somewhat limited; I’ve received ~30 large bones and not much of the others.
Frosgorge Sound is apparently more diverse in the T5s the monsters drop (according to wiki) and so far I’ve been liking playing there. As a bonus, it’s a lot closer/cheaper to run/WP back to LA from Frostgorge than Orr is.
cheers

This is an important topic that I feel needs to be brought to ANet’s attention. In short, Magic Find gear encourages selfish behaviour by giving better rewards to individuals while hampering the group. See first post in link for a better explanation than I can give.
It sure won’t be an easy thing to “fix”, but discussion is good. I agree with link’s OP and others that MF should not be in gear, and that MF needs to be implemented differently, as currently, it seems to encourage bypassing of content (esp. in dungeons) just to reach the large rewards.
Hi ANet,
I have a unibody MacBook Pro with both Intel HD (288 MB) integrated and Nvidia GeForce GT 330M (512 MB) dedicated graphics cards. Along with a 2.66 GHz i7 with 4GB of RAM, I feel like this should be enough for pretty decent gaming fps, however I am only getting an average of 14fps on Mac (OSX 10.7.3), or 17fps if I switch to my BootCamp’d Windows XP.
Is this normal? These seems like frame rates more suited to just an integrated video card. Is there any way I can check to verify that the 330M is actually being used? I have tried disabling the “automatic graphics switching” option, which no affect on performance. Note I am running at the utmost minimum of graphics settings.
How are these numbers stacking up to other people trying to play the game on laptops? Can you push higher than absolute-min graphics settings and still have a playable (>20fps or so) experience?
tl;dr: what framerates are ppl getting on laptops w/dedicated GPUs?
