Severe lag in fractal #36

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

geekgirlonezeroone.1793

Got to Old Tom boss and suddenly none of our abilities would work. All of us noticed lagging, some were disconnected. Nothing worked and we wiped with only 2 members remaining. After rebuilding the party we made a 2nd attempt but as soon as Old Tom was engaged we were hit by the lag again, one guy complaining why he couldn’t activate the extractors.

I asked in Lion’s Arch if others experienced the same problem but only one response said theirs went very smooth.

I’m making another attempt with a new group altogether to see if this reoccurs. As a sidenote I’ve noticed some random lagging in other fractals.

Edit: Seems to be a one-off incident.

I’m having the same problem here also. I just completed Heart of Thorns Act III Mastery and the Master Achievement Award for Buried Insights, but I haven’t received the Waterproof Vigil Padding.

Well I’m seeing a lot of agreeing and disagreeing and some alternative and more creative ideas here as well as concerns over how my original ideas could be abused or faltered by the multi-guild feature. I’m happy to see people putting their thinking caps on and coming up with pros and cons on how to help a growing guild progress, so I’d like to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and feedback. Please keep the concerns and suggestions coming, but please also keep it clean and friendly and respectful.

No.

If you want to force people to give something to the guild, you’re not a guild.
You’re a taxing governement.

That’s why I said an “optional checkbox”. You don’t read well do you?

I see where you’re at Shylock, and I guess that was a bad suggestion there to include TP sales.

Rather than make it a tax, make it something the guild gets automatically as a result of you being a member and doing things in game. If you are a member in 5 guilds then it’s split 5 ways.

You mean as in like a guild boon that transfers a small % of money you get from drops straight into the guild bank? Also sounds a good idea.

Considering a lot of guilds have been making demands from members to donate an amount of gold a week towards guild halls I was thinking it would be a great idea to add an optional checkbox for guild members to allow a percentage of any money earned from bosses, mob kills, TP sales etc. to go directly into the guild bank, either a set amount like 5% or something guild leaders could set up themselves. This would allow even lower level players who aren’t swimming in hundreds of gold to contribute a little something to help towards building fees.

HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

Everything I said about HoT I take back. I thought 4 zones would be a sham for its price, but they are really big and there’s a lot involved, far more than what the early testers parroted. It would be nice though if it didn’t have so many breaking bugs in it, but we weren’t given everything to test so I guess it’s no surprise if you only allow 50% of the content to be tested then the other 50% is gonna have many unreported bugs.

I’m not certain though about druid class, I gave it a go and wasn’t impressed with both the healing and the dps. I don’t think it fits in with a class that originates purely as physical dps.

Same bug issue, just letting the npcs talk amongst themselves and not interacting with them doesn’t do anything as they just arrive in a circle and stand there.

So far I’ve not interacted with the npcs at all and did everything the quest told me to except using the consoles. Both times I attempted this solo I went to the inquest on the other side of the water. At the end of the event the bright light appears but there’s no npc conversation.

3rd attempt I tried the inquest on the same side as the consoles but it looked like those inquest didn’t count as I killed way more than 25 and didn’t get any progress until I killed 25+ on the other side of the water. This time the npcs started talking at the end as the bright light appeared and I was able to finish the quest. Might have something to do with being able to complete the quest?

LS2 mission: incorrect name to voice

Disturbance in Brisban Wildlands sure did cause some disturbance when a line spoken by Braham Eirsson came out in Taimi’s voice.

The line in question was on first entering the instanced area in Tangle Root: “How about we ask? Oh, look. There’s the others.”

Ranger is sadly still pointless.

I saw the druid spec on anet’s twitch stream and though holy wow, healing wasn’t what I wanted as a ranger for a spec but this looked awesome and similar in comparison to WoW monks. Then I came to play it in beta, the dps was awful, the healing was nowhere near as awesome, in the end I just long-bowed everything because I was dying from taking too long to kill anything.

As a ranger I had high hopes we’d get something to go alongside with our ranged dps, like a sniper or a beastmaster spec. Healing? pfft! If they wanted a healing job then they should’ve given it to a whole new class, not as a spec for a dps class!

And since pets half the time are useless or need to be kept passive to avoid aggroing I really did hope anet might give us a tool to get rid of the pet altogether and boost our own dps because I’m losing out on dps with a drake that’s stuck at my side unable to participate in a fight because I’m stood on a rock or dies immediately in a fight because of close combat aoe. Instead they gave us a ghostly wail and a loud gong every time the pet jumps out which is not good for my anxiety.

Some seriously bad decisions there anet, really bad decisions. >.> I’m highly considering dropping ranger to make engineer my new main all thanks to these choices.

Similar issue here. About 2-3 hours ago noticed switching areas was glitchy. I was doing the watchtower event and often was being met with errors about the log-in server being inaccessible or the countdown would reach 0 and I’d still be sitting in the lobby waiting for the next game to start and would have to log to the character select screen to get booted out. My last attempt resulted in the game crashing to desktop about the log-in servers being down and it’s a chance I can log back in again.

The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this time. This is most commonly caused by firewall or router settings, security applications, or connecting through a campus network. For additional support, please visit http://support.guildwars2.com. (Code=19:9:19:1715:101)

After what I saw in the beta I don’t know what to think. I didn’t get to try it for long as I left it very late due to finances. I didn’t get to see the raids as they were broken when I tried it. Is it worth the price tag? I’m not sure if £35 is a justifiable price tag. Perhaps £25, I honestly don’t know. I wish I gave myself more time to decide.

But I definitely believe bundling it with the base game for the same price was not a cool decision, very suspicious, and screams “scam” to all those who owned the game from the beginning. That’s how I feel about the ordeal of bundling the expansion with the base game.

Exactly. I’d be fine with it, if they dropped the price tag for the expansion and offered it as an upgrade, and also provided an alternative bundle that includes the original game as well at a reduced price. Because then we’d see a clear difference between buying just the expansion, and buying the expansion + the full game. But when the price of the expansion is equal to the full game, and the full game is supposedly included for free along with it…. that sounds very dodgy.

Saying you just want the expansion pack separately won’t cost you any less because according to ANet it’s the expansion you’re paying for, so you’d still be paying £34 for HoT with or without the core game.

Whoever believes the lies of ANET must be pretty naive (no offense). This comic shows the process of pricing HoT:

http://i.imgur.com/1jI3LGy.jpg

Say what you will dbgfeller, I’ve really only outlined what ANet claims. Had you read the first paragraph you would’ve seen that I’ve said that due to the way the game is currently valued that it comes across as a sham and that we’re really paying for both a core game AND the expansion (the core game according to Amazon is now currently valued at £20) with none of the benefits of having bought a 2nd core game.

Please read other peoples’ comments thoroughly before you name/flame them.

I think it’s poor policy and bad decision making to offer the core game for free with an expansion pack that shares the same original retail value as the core game. Considering that the core game is now worth half of its original retail value it immediately comes across as a sham and that the players are really paying for the core game and expansion with none of the benefits that comes with buying a 2nd core game.

This is what’s confusing and frustrating a lot of players. Saying you just want the expansion pack separately won’t cost you any less because according to ANet it’s the expansion you’re paying for, so you’d still be paying £34 for HoT with or without the core game. To me that is massively overpriced for what little is being offered.

I am personally outraged at this decision by ANet and their explanation that they’re giving away the core for free with the expansion (which is coincidentally the same price as the core.) That’s like buying a new pair of shoes just for the shoe laces and being told that the rest of the shoe is being given to you for free. I don’t find this explanation rational especially towards existing players, and if £34 is for the expansion then I’d expect a much larger expansion than the one described on the wiki. It doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Bugs are certainly a major issue that have been there since the day GW2 was released. I don’t think any devs or mods view these forums aside to remove bad language and moving topics to other forums leaving posters lost not knowing where their post ended up.

I really do hope the expansion pack will not be free because AN won’t be getting any more money off me until they fix the bugs in the base game first and consider their lacking population could be down to the game being broken and many of the jumping puzzles are far FAR too difficult.

Bugged: Missing merchant at event

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

geekgirlonezeroone.1793

Event “Save the merchants from the Bloody Buccanner kidnappers” situated in Vindar’s Lagoon, Bloodtide Coast.

The event insists there is 1 missing merchant. Lots of Bloody Buccaneer Kinappers running around and to the south where the wrecked boats are with lots of Penzan Privateers locked in cages, but once the Bloody Buccaneer Kidnappers reach the boats they become invulnerable to attacks. There’s also a cage up in the top of the wrecked boats that’s empty but you can accidentally lock yourself in it and can’t get out again unless someone lets you out.

I was later informed there was discussion somewhere about this event that it’s known to bug out where the last remaining merchant is MIA and the pirates become invulnerable. I haven’t seen it reported here however after doing a search.

Well, grats to those who have completed this. I’m finding it far too difficult to the point that it’s ceased to be fun. Lots of people are failing on the same point I am right after the first jump from the wheel. Events are supposed to be fun, not so frustrating that you’re virtually ripping your hair out and screaming.

The annoying thing about this event is if your costume wears off you cannot then use the cauldron to get a new costume to leave the CB. You’re constantly feared before you can use it because of some hotshots spamming fear. I had a tough time trying to get a new costume to leave the CB, and when I gave up and decided to use the large cauldron instead some guy followed me and was constantly spamming hits on me, making it impossible for me to see where I was going and missing the platforms. Having your costume removed should make you evade or be invulnerable to their attacks.
