The last months I thought a bit of gameplay in GW2 and i found one thing missing in the UI that could be a big improvement to everyone. So i decided to post it here. It is the option to open about 1 to 4 little slots where you can display some consumable items you have in the inventory.
It would improve the playstyle when you have quickly access to those potions or buff food without opening and searching the inventory while being in a big fight. In the other hand you have a better view about how many of them you have left.
I really would appreciate this kind of QoL-Feature ingame, because it has so much benefit to players and could support the use of Buff-Foods.

There are many PC games (offline and online games) out there, which offer to chose between DX 9 and DX 11. I think this would be a great option for Gw2 too. Everyone i know has a notebook or pc which a graphics card that is dx11 ready, so it would be an improvement for the people with PC’s younger than 6 years, and for the other people dx9 would be also available.
I use the 4790K with a Thermalright Macho Rev. B Cooler and it gets between 55 and 65°C while playing GW2, depending on where you are (leveling or large scale events). So about 60°C is the average I have. When I close the game it’s cooling down fast to about 30°C.
I just wanted to make an update and thank all of you for helping me. My new PC is already here and I made my first event a few minutes ago.
I postet 2 pics, one with character limit on middle and one on high.
I am so happy with the new performance. It runs everything so smooth with the 4790k on 4,6 Ghz
Hey you could look in the user interface of your router if there is an option for priorising specific applications.
For example: i have AVM FritzBox so I open my webbrowser and type in fritz.box (or the IP of the router for other devices) then the different options of the router opens and there i can find an option to priorize a specific PC or app.
Thx for uploading the video. It gives a good imagination.
1440p on 1080 screen… hm i should test this. it makes the UI smaller and gives a biggerfield of view, right?
okay so i’m gonna buy a z97 for the 4790k and let see what the future brings. hopefully i can run this system up to 2017
I please you to calm down. You really should not argue anymore. It was not my fault to beginn a fanboy war. So lets go back to the thread.
To sum it up, both the fx8350 and the haswell are good for gaming. But for gw2 i will have an increase whem i use the haswell.
i like amd a lot and use their CPUs for 8 years now. And i also like my fx in offline games. but it doesn’t make me happy when i’m playing gw2 anymore. Now i am at the point where i would do everything for every mor frame i can get except of turning down the settings to low
Well first I just wanted to get a new graphics card to play new games like far cry 4 on high settings. But mostly i’m playing gw2, and many friends told me that I should go with a core i7 because of its better performance in mmos. I like my current system except of the GPU but it would be great to have more than 10-15 fps in large events. So i came up to the idea to buy a completely new system
Okay thx. Sounds like i can have a better performance by far with it
Hey, want to buy a new PC and thought a lot which CPU i should take.
The specs of the new pc:
ASUS B85-Pro Gamer Mainboard
Intel Core i7-4790K (4 Ghz)
Corsair Hydro Series H80i Water Cooling
16 GB Corsair Vengeance
Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC
Does anyone have this cpu and can tell me about the performance of it in gw2?
(Currently i’m using FX-8350 and Radeon HD 6950, so i wanted to know if i can get an increase in fps, especially in large events like tequatl. I’m mostly pve player)
I think Living story isn’t getting as much love right now because of certain changes that are coming to the game. They obviously pulled resources from living story development to attend to bigger things. Or you know they could all be just working 1 hour shifts each day and eating pizza all the time.
Unfortunately, after two years, it is pretty clear that there is nothing “big” behind the scenes that the majority of the staff is working on. They acted like the Twilight Arbor Aetherblade Path was a big to do. No, they are just lazy. Plain and simple.
Two years aren’t much in the game industries. many games get “big stuff” like expansions after two years of release.
But since anet has this aweful limitation on speaking to their customers many rumors grew out of nothing. It’s a shame that all the people who make this game successful (the players) are treated like this.
There would be less rumors and disappointment if anet would just tell us their way to go on with gw2 for the next months and year.
I hope it will be permanent, and open content
I want some open world content. I’m sick with every update a new dungeon, because it has no change to the world and it’s no mmo content.
Let this tower be a big open world monument where you can go inside just like a jumping puzzle or mini dungeon including a new meta event !!!
I like the fact, that I can do Jumping Puzzles instead of killing all the time. They are a big challange for me and many people but never to hard.
For me it is a result that I’m 100% into my characters movement. Just exercise, then everything is easy.
They should not delete new zones. Even if there go only a few players there after this month, it is an expansion of the world and the permanent change a living story has.
And if the living story allows, month later or a year, the bazaar will take place again in this zone, so why remove it in the time between? many people love to go back to those places just to hangout or make those great mini games there!
We neither remove Munich after Oktoberfest just because the event is only 4 weeks in the year.
I just watched the twitch stream, how ON EARTH COULD THEY MAKE ALL THAT AND THE NEW RACE and make it like last for like what, a month?
Becaue they have learned that we’d like our new content more permanent than temporal. They even said so lately.
Yeah, no logic there.
Yea, I know right! I got really excited when they spoke about learning that we’d like more permanent content, and then this.. I just wanna see what’s next.
Also, wouldn’t be suprised if the new movement things are temporary as well, yayayayyayayayayayay. -..-
It’s all a bad joke, if they remove it. I hope arenanet will read what so many people here, on reddit and fansites are complaining about and will make the labyrinthe cliff with the new movement, and the race permanent.
I don’t worry if the ship sails away in a month, because it’s part of the living stoy. BUT DON’T REMOVE THE WHOLE MAP. Until yet the living story felt not living because after each update everything was like before. Where are the changes?
The labyrinthe cliffs and it’s funny activities should stay in the world, so people who liked it can go back again, and in a few month when the next bazaar or other things in living story happen, the map can be used again. but please do not remove because the story part there is just over.
I hope we are able to complete the meta archivement not only for two weeks.
It would be not fair for those players who couldn’t take part on this event. They have to make it as a permanent archivement.
Or at the very least have a couple of opportunities (every 1-3 months for example) to go and get it. Though I’d be better as a permanent meta achievement to work towards.
My bet is still that the quartz node will only be for either cosmetic skins or for maybe furniture (or something of that ilk) for your home instance (and eventually guild hall).
Or a second quartz node in the open world, so people without their “own” node in the home instance have less disadvantage.
I hope we are able to complete the meta archivement not only for two weeks.

They have to make it as a permanent archivement.
I hope the new content will be all permanent, because we had a lot of content updates in the past but nothing more to do in this game. This is how it feels to me.
Far more permanent content could make this game bigger and stronger with stuff to do for everyone. And I love new zones _
I just read the news about the new release coming on July 9th and also watched the video showing the new pvp map.
But I wonder, what PvE content will come. Where should this Bazaar take place?
The concept art doesn’t look like Lion’s Arch, so will we get a new zone to our world or will the Bazaar of the Four Winds just take place in an instance ?
There’s searching around Tyria for the hidden collectable content detailed in the achievements, but other than that, not much.
here’s the thing: It has been said and shown in the past many, many times that this game is going to be consistently trying to get you to play with other players. Dungeon content like this simply doesn’t work as well with one player, as the mechanics are clearly designed for a party of 5. reworking and retuning each dungeon that comes out so that single player people can play through it (Despite the game being an MMO, one that specializes in player groups) would be an unnecessarily large use of arenanet’s time.
I strongly, strongly recommend you find yourself a nice casual guild or a casual pick up group. I’ve actually never been in a dungeon group in this game in which I’ve needed to use an outside voice program, and I’ve been a dungeongoer since launch. All of the pugs on my server (maguuma) are keyboard communication only. This dungeon isn’t so difficult that it requires THAT much cooperation.
But this is going to continue. There are going to be more group-only dungeons in the future, just as there have been in the past. I suggest you try and see if you can find a nice, comfortable way to adapt so that you might enjoy the game more.
Well this is an MMO isn’t it?
I want more open World Content and not only one more dungeon for two weeks. This is more like a multiplayer game content that new mmo content to keep the world feel living.
And as the first post said, i don’t want to play constantly with other people. Sometimes i want to make something alone or with a big group.
I love mmorpg’s and they should give me the freedom to decide how I play it, and not only give me monthly dungeons that are too hard for my feeling.
It’s good that they implement new content for hardcore-group-gamers, but I miss the open world stuff that changes the world forever… and thats what a-net said when they introduced the living story… content that changes the world…
