When BG came to T1, JQ ruled with an Iron Fist. SoR took that over, and since BG, through persistence has taken the pole position.

I have not seen a server solidify and take charge like BlackGate. I am extremely proud of this server, and will not play anywhere else.

SoR is stil great competition, nice to see my TC brethern, here’s to future battles!

BG made it to tier 1 before SOR and won multiple times in Tier 1 before SOR did. When BG and SOR were both in tier 2 BG was beating SOR far worse than they do now. It’s much closer now. SOR is much better than they were when they were a T2 server. Blackgate is as well.

YOU DID THIS TO YOURSELVES. Week after week of Waha + SOR SEA vs BG SEA and EMP or SF taking down a gate at garrison just to get out of the way for CHOO or TW to rush in with full supply. Or my favorite, the nightly cap of our keep in EBG while JQ caps and SOR spawn camps.

We reacted and adapted to the BLATENT 2v1, you made fun of us (especially me) for calling you out on. You laughed at our “tears” and our screenshots. You said “its not 2v1, JQ hits you all the time”. Well we responded by tightening up our tactics and most importantly, our cross map/guild communication and teamwork.

Then when the scores got close again (we won twice in a row) you recruited not one, but two HUGE EU guilds from EU servers to stack the zone before NA so they have T3 waypoints every night.

We have done nothing but respond to the pressure you blatantly put on our server.

You created this monster. Deal with the consequences.

JQ recruits to beat SoS. Beats SoS…SBI & SoS goes down, gives SOR the numbers to come up to T1, also gives BG the numbers for T1. JQ wins by 70K every week, BG is the first to recruit in order to beat JQ, DESPITE the fact that JQ was losing some of it’s players(EMP)… WM + RISE + Meow, wins 2 weeks by 30K. As result, SoR recruits IRON, wins 5 weeks.

I wouldn’t exactly say “SoR” caused every server to start stacking.

Wow you’re not getting it. I’m not disputing those 4 states are some of the most populous. I’m saying add up the population of the states bordering the East Coast and West Coast and 70% of the population lives there. It’s not up for dispute. Facts are facts. There are large isolated cities like Dallas, KC, Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis but they are surrounded by nothing unlike on the coasts. From DC to Boston is one big megalopolis. It’s almost one constant long city with very small gaps between.

I know not everyone is familiar with American population demographics, but we are not concentrated on the coastlines, nor is there any significant cultural division between. Out of 5 significant timezones (udt-3 to udt-8) the only one with modest representation is mountain time (udt-7) which is largely unpopulated.
The concept of any english language NA guild being largely east or west coast is ludicrous, much less a whole server population. ALL of these guilds are comprised of -5edt, -6cdt, and -8pdt with a few -7mdt players. If there is any advantage for SoR it would be LUN and UL, our 2 Portugese (Brazil is udt-3, one whole hour earlier) language guilds which together represent half a BL. But overall every server will progressively get stronger during NA until the EDT players start to go to bed.
The whole “we’re stronger in PDT” thing is a gloss-over of that overbearing Oceanic presence starting to log on.

TL;DR: BGna needs to stop hiding behind walls, AC’s, excuses and other timezones and come fight us. Ragelogging after a single wipe will only steepen the learning curve.

They say better use for canon, not more damage.. am guessing it will be like u wont take AOE damage while using canon for 1 minute or so.

but u will require to have canon in the first place to even use it, compared to supply capacity, which is pretty OP in my opinion.

I don’t even bother with the cannons anymore. within two seconds of getting on one I am pulled off it and off the wall and killed.

They didn’t disband. A few of their higher level members left and took some members with them, but Icoa is still around in pretty large numbers.

It is common knowledge that culling issues are on the server side and not on the client side. It is already announced to be fixed in the new patch.

Is there a lot of really awkward role playing going on? Thats my only concern with that server.

It can be really annoying if you don’t like that sort of thing. Imagine doing a fractal or dungeon and someone is roleplaying a character that is dumb and clumsy and “accidentally” sets off every trap, goes in the wrong direction, or falls to his death. People do stuff like this and think it’s ok because it’s the character they created.

All you need to be a good commander is 100 gold seems to be the prevalent theory on my server.

If you stared on HoD at release then you probably weren’t paying attention to WvW. HoD won every single one day match, and all of their 3 day matches. TA broke up and the server was abandoned just after the 1 week match format was implemented.

The first two weeks on that site don’t seem to have scores for the NA matchups. So it isn’t exactly fair. I personally don’t remember which server won those first two weeks, but they were probably HoD. I seem to recall them winning like a couple week-long matches before their alliance jumped ship.

HOD was my original server. We were in Tier 1 but never came in 1st. I came to Blackgate in mid Oct.

They might have won those 1st couple weeks that aren’t listed on the medals chart but I really don’t remember winning them. I remember a long streak in the beta and I think that’s the number they are referring to when they said they went 7-0. The medals page is only missing the 1st 2 or 3 weeks not 7. As for the 30-0 against other alliances/servers I’m not sure what they meant by that either. Spvp maybe. The whole post doesn’t really make sense. I started on HOD on release day.

Whats up with all the taunting by BG players on a defeats ? Ive been laughed at, danced on, slept on, and on occasionally left their bleeding as the BG Invader emotes me till I die. It’s like BG amateur hour out there now and far more closer to the 1st time BG entered T1 than the more laid back BG that was here last time in t1.

People do it on all sides and it’s always pugs doing it.

Under the map is definitely a bug or exploit, but thieves can stay in a keep almost indefinitely stealth with cloak and dagger on a gate. basically you wait until stealth is almost up and hit Cloak and Dagger, it hits right as you unstealth and you get recloaked with no reveal debuff. Always need to check for this before reporting thieves, they are really tricky by nature.
