I’ll have to search for this vendor since I go yo the the vendor in Orr that sells the kits and tools for karma. It seems unlikely there would be 2 vendors that sell such items for karma.

If Nothing changes in 1 month. Will you continue to play?

WvW Scoreboard is hurting both Winners & Losers

Hiding the score will help with demoralization, but I think people will still have a feeling for which way the match is going.

I propose a slightly different alternative that keeps the scoreboard, but displays it differently. It hopefully will help with the 24/7 problem as well.

The problem with the scoring system is the demoralization caused by it. You can’t keep track of the progress you make during your play time, so you have nothing to feel good about when it is lopsided even if you provide a very competitive fight during the time you play.

I would propose that the score remains as an indication of overall server strength but it is also split into different segments that represent the different segments of high activity that ArenaNet sees across all servers.

An example based on no data, just for illustration:

For a 24 hour day we split it into four segments of six hours that do not overlap and each has equal importance on the overall score. While one segment is active, each tick adds the current point totals to counters for each team for that active time segment and the overall point counter (the overall score is just a summation of points from each of the four segments).

At any point in time you can see what the current score for each segment is. This will allow servers to easily recognize where they are weakest and provide individual players with the ability to fight for pride in their most active time segment.

You could even go so far as to do a ramp down and up of total ppt as time segments end and begin to allow for the shift in populations across the world as people log off and come online. I’m not saying the ramping is necessary though, it would have to be based on the data.

In the end, the goal is to make the current system as fun for the most people possible while acknowledging the work and effort put in by large alliances that went for 24/7 coverage.

Just stop comparing this to actual war. It has been covered a 100 times all the numerous items and strategies missing that real war has to prevent or mitigate this exact problem.

I’m shocked at the graph you posted. SBI is a full server the same as HoD yet these exscuses keep rolling in.

I don’ t understand what you are saying here. Are you saying the graphs which shows facts is an excuse? I’m saying it is no surprise what is happening.

Just to help drive home why HoD can get such a massive lead Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The black lines show when midnight PST occurs (roughly). As you can see HoD still has queues for every map yet SBI has none for 6 hours while ET has none for 2 hours and a queue for 1 map for the other 4 hours.

The activity on Monday can easily be explained my jobs having Monday off because they work Saturday or people using Monday off for a longer weekend. It is very rare for anyone who works daytime hours to have Tuesday off, hence why the population dips since they need rest for the next day.

Well then you’re a little mistaken about that being off peak. Two days ago was Sunday which is not off peak.

You are one seriously negative person Sky. Look at things in a fun light and then see if there might be a way to make it work.

Just throwing it out there but the system could have potential if the upgrades took hours to complete and only lasted maybe 8-16 hours and only usable on keeps. I’m not opposed to upgrades that give advantages like that. There is just no way it should be permanent because they it’d be almost impossible to take it at peak times.

It also adds more depth to the game which isn’t bad.

The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

Thought I’d post some pictures I took that show this problem in the PvE world as well.

For this one I later found out there were about 5 other people below me attacking the champion. I had no idea and just saw the arrows and a few random effects from people I couldn’t see. They never did load in until I jumped down and was on top of them when the champion died. I could see all the NPCs around for a very long distance yet the PCs didn’t show.

I’ve noticed this as well. I think it was introduced with one of the last 2 patches because I never had an issue with it until now and I just resumed my personal story after 2 days of not doing it.

Yep, fake queues still run rampant. I had to wait nearly 4 hours for my queue to pop while others logged in after I had queued and got in under 20 minutes.

The guild leader for a WvW event started his queue 2 hours before the event and NEVER got in for a 6 hour event. This kind of system just discourages organized guild play and frankly discourages players from continuing to log in since they can’t even play or make plans to play.

The mystery of the queue is also creating its own superstition of when and how to queue for best results. As a programmer you know something isn’t working right when superstition enters software.

I only ever noticed the Immune showing when it was being applied to a person who was already at full health. I’ll have to respec to check it out. This was also when I had increased boon duration.

Very detailed and I have experienced all of the issues; athough the only ones I think are actually aggravating and really disorienting are issues 5, 6, 7, and 9. I’ve never liked over the shoulder cameras like in Arkahm City or Mass Effect 3.

Monthly achievements not reset from August

Experienced this as well. I finished August and when September came it didn’t reset. It still shows 100% completion. However friends and guildmates had it reset.

Have to agree queue times are horrendous on Stormbluff Isle. Most guildmates will have to wait 2 hours usual up to 3 hours to get into a map. That is not very friendly to people who have limited time. The only way we ever seem to all get in together is when WvW resets and he instant queue when it come back up.

The queue also doesn’t seem to be a queue. People that queued later get in sooner than others. That needs to be addressed.
