incinerator and quip!
As far as gear goes, the more zerker you have the faster/more comfortable runs will be. My guardian has around 3100 power, as I have some green accessories and a white backpiece. Everything zerc and 30/30/0/0/10 as the 20% extra damage while aegis is huge. Staff + Sword/Focus. There should be a video of the proper combo, but it really isn’t too hard. You can use sigils for precision/power stack bonuses and foods to make up for your gear.
i think the point is more to show how much of a joke he is. You really shouldn’t be using the gs autos, but he can kill it just fine.
Sell your sprockets. If you intend to get some of the new items/skins, save up for them. I’ve also seen some people trade them in for profession gear, but it’s up to you.
True. I agree that there can be a decent amount of danger, but as far as I know as a guardian, there is little to no failure. The main thing holding people back is the gear. If they looked up the videos, its as simple as anything else. All you have to do is port and reflect immediately – nothing exceptional about it. Optimizing skill rotations is something that becomes second nature once you do enough runs, but there are enough videos out there to give you a good idea of what to do.
The Orb/Rifts have timing patterns but you’re incorrect to deny there is no randomness or luck to the fight whatsoever.
Whilst the orbs have set spawning locations, which one of them it spawns in seems to be entirely random. Combine this with the AoE field with set positions and sometimes the orbs will kill you, sometimes they’ll actually pull you to safety and save the fight.
Because of the nature of their spawns, it’s entirely possible for an orb to spawn on the other side of the room during Phase 2 when you can’t easily cross and then to activate it’s pull just as the AoE is detonating underneath it.
The orbs not spawning in the same set locations compared to everything else seems an oversight on ANet’s part. It is something that is genuinely down to luck in an otherwise well designed and pattern based fight.
I’m pretty sure it also depends on what gauntlet arena you go to. If you stick to one, the orb pattern tends to be the same
I happen to believe skill should be rewarded. A lot of people characterize this as a faceroll way to make money, but the truth is that if your rotations are off by half a second or more you will end up dead or near dead.
not even remotely true buddy. I was the one who made the subject 7 video, you could have done it comfortably if you did everything I mentioned. The only time I would fail is I do something lazy and die or the arena bugged. In the case of subject 7, you could get off an eviscerate at the end and always finish (or even use a different dps rotation that killed S7 so you didn’t need the second endure pain proc).
In the case of deadeye, he is even easier. There is nothing skillful about reflects. With the guardian all you do is port to him, reflect, dps and if your dps isn’t high enough as in the guard videos shown, you can use sword #2 to port again and #3 or auto attack to finish him off. Your rotations can be off completely and still do it comfortably. ALSO- if you somehow completely messed up your rotation and deadeye is not blinded during his killshot, you can use your elite skill to become invulnerable and then continue with your dps.If you were doing them properly you wouldn’t be saying that.
I’m also not even mentioning the other classes that can do this with consistency and speed.
Edit: Actually, I will. Thieves can 5 gambit with the additional quaggan boss. All you do is scorpion wire deadeye and its a simple 1v1 and you just dps him. This run has very little downtime.
I would agree more with the fact that it depends on gear, not skill. Having ascended gear makes your run go faster or you may crit more often. You can even do these runs with sigil stacks (like bloodlust). But noooo, clearly 20g/hr is intended for ‘skilled’ players.

You really shouldn’t need to hit control at all. You can ignore Chomper for most of the time as you are focused simply on collecting meat. Watch where Strugar is tossing the meat and head over there before the chomper does. That combined with the other tactics mentioned here should get the job done. Use a summon (like hounds of balthazar) to add in extra dps once you get enough stacks. Also, use GS whirl on warrior as its a great gap closer which should get you to most meats quickly.
anet was quick enough for subject 7 nerfs. Hopefully they react accordingly, otherwise people will walk out with 1000g+ if they take their time.
The video in the thread linked above is mine. That’s also how I got my 5 gambit achievement (just add the quaggan boss and do the same exact thing, although you may have to use the endure pain sooner). You may or may not have to get lucky with crits depending on what nourishments you’re using and other stuff. 3 Gambits should be doable with most of the tier 3 bosses on any class. Lastly, for the frailty + squeamish, I did that on the pirate boss as it’s fairly simple with dodge and stuns. Remember that you can use huge cooldowns for the achievements, so using mistfire wolf or hounds of balthazar helps a lot to add extra dps while you try to survive.
The difference is that snowflakes are risk free. You also aren’t making exponential gains and abusing the economy like the snowflake exploit was doing. And it certainly isn’t as easy to do, as you need an optimal dps rotation which take much more effort compared. I can do my runs every minute as the cds are all 60 seconds, but I guarantee you that not every warrior is willing to learn how to do it, instead getting frustrated that subject 7 isn’t dying and opting for Pavilion event farming.
Try moving to another server, or find an arena where people are dying as they’ll likely wp out once they die. The reason you make 20 g/h is because each run nets you 5 bags, each bag of which is 10s and 4-6 sprockets each. That’s ~25 sprockets and 50s every run. The tickets are NOT the limiting factor because you can trade in 15 sprockets and 20s for five tickets, which is exactly how much the run costs. If you do the math, you get around 10~ extra sprockets (which are worth some silver too) and 30s profit, which is more than enough if you farm optimally to get 20 g/h. If you calculate only the 30s itself, that is around 18g/h, but like i said this is not counting the sprockets. I go afk a bunch in between and still making far more money than CoF ever has given (it was 7 g/h), while this farm has no DR.
I’ve done this fine without food. The other one was a bandit slaying potion I was using earlier. But what would you really expect if you wanted to get 20g/h. The event farm isn’t that much more fun, really, and requires more attention.
Why are people even complaining about the prenerf Pavilion farming? There are more lucrative areas, and the gauntlet is one of them. If you run a zerker warrior on tier 3 subject 7 with 4 gambits, you can get a run done every minute and get 30s + extra sprockets per run. Compared to the Pavilion farming, which has the downside of diminishing returns, I find it hilarious that people are so whiny.
Proof!

I searched where I could and I think i’m the only person with this problem. I basically ported to every zone I could and thought I had the worst luck in the game as I’ve been stuck at 2/60 kite baskets for a week now. Basically I can’t see kite baskets on my minimap or map, and had this confirmed with a friend who helped me find one. I tried changing video settings and looked for some way to fix, so I don’t know what’s going on. Thanks for the responses
edit- I’m also 100% sure I typed “makitten ue” but once I posted I get this random “makitten ue?”…
