yeah…but with scrapper it would be so easy to keep perma quickess and might. Plus the extra utility slots that you can use.
i don’t like the chrono way…
anyway, thanks for the reply

scrapper - boon sharing?

is there any way to share boons on scrapper? any way at all? food, other proffessions…anything?
with some boon duration and elixir U + applied force, you can easily have 100% quickness and 25 stacks of might just by 111111, which is a shame not to share with friends and family.

I’m enjoying myself quite well as a frontline engi. I use this
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFASncoCFpitbBmcB0ehl7jCshiosIsGCgMh+Wj1ZF-TlSBAB4o+zCPAguUKwz+DJpETLlFyqEEgLAgCmYQRHQAgDAuOQKgiEGB-w

it’s quite easy actually. The only problem I have is when I get tunnel vision and find myself alone in the middle of the enemy zerg.
thunderclap on their heads, ice field, gear shield through the main push, then switch to hammer shield. After that, improvise + fumigate and poison gas shell on the downed. Defensive field off cooldown.

I know it’s not optimal, but i’m poor and i don’t care…

the only thing the seller has to do, is deliver the product in the same exact state as it was promoted.

Not saying you are wrong but there are two sides for this coin : I never bought the original game for Fractals, PvP reward tracks, Living story (S1 and S2), EotM….. they were never promoted to be in the game during development.
If they are not allowed to change their priority because of the respect they owe to their customers then they should charge for any addition or change they did since the game launch.
So I think you can’t just conclude a seller-customer relationship, especially when the product is an MMO, by saying "the only thing the seller has to do, is deliver the product in the same exact state as it was promoted. "

What the man said!!!
On top of that if you add all the delays, the changes in management, the constant “ignorance” of the issues and demands we raise (all of which happened from the beginning of GW2) you might understand that you should NOT expect them to deliver 100% on any of the promises. The reason for this is that they just can’t keep up with all the kitten. If you haven’t realized this by now., you’re in for a bad time!

If I pay in advance its because I want to beat the rush/queue, either way I expect my product not a chance I will get it. None of the people here that are upset payed for a chance to get content that was advertised. We payed for the content that was advertised.

I fully agree with you guys that this is how stuff should be. But they aren’t not on this planet. I’m certain it’s not the first time you get screwed over. So why get your panties in a twist?
Even more, Mike or whoever, had the decency of letting us know beforehand what will happen.
Even more, we already have most of the content promised. I dare to say 90%. The Legendary stuff is just a minor part…
Even more, it is more than obvious that the ANET team is not slacking off and buying hookers with our money. They provided tons of patches and constant updates (i’ll give you that they didn’t go too well, but still)
So why all the kitten-fits?

Your top 5 priorities for WvW-Overhaul

1. the pyratekitten stuff needs to go. Maybe revert the stability patch. Maybe just nerf the cc. Idk if there will actually be a sweet spot where you could actually nerf CC to a place where it will not become useless… Probably the solution would be to revert the stability to duration, not stacking.
2. Current maps are too big. Towers are to big. If I roam and get killed on the other side of the map, I am seriously considering between logging off and trying again…. Probably the old maps would work a lot better with the new skills.
3. Definitely NO GLIDING
4. Some form of rewards for scouting/defending/roaming/etc. There is absolutely no incentive to do any WWW activity. Give WvW specific skins, or provide a way for WvW players to craft ascended/legendary stuff also. ATM there is no competition (with regards to riches) between a PVE player and a WWW player… . In short, I guess: better WWW loot!

In your build you weren’t using elixir U, so that’s why I asked about the quickness uptime.

I have no idea on the actual damage, but I will roll this and let you know how it goes.
Probably I will get a lot of kitten from the meta bandwagoneers, but eh…that’s life.

murphy rule say-if you need reflect wall you get smoke wall.

true!

Hi bro
I actually use this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFASnUUBtbhVXBeeBEqilJjieuz7AX8ZKgAIc7SmwC-TVSBQB7b/hIoE8bTYOo6P3THwVU+8gHAQRUCBgLAApACcqF-w
As you can see, we have really similiar builds.
And yea this is a thing!! But not many ppl know it. This build are not focused on team play, but it shine in open world or wvw.
If you want know cons i can put there some:
-not team based(many boons you apply only yourself)
-lower dmg(even if you reach 100% quickness up time-and this is real)
-toss elixir U is tricky, if you need reflect, murphy rule say-if you need reflect wall you get smoke wall.

I will write pros with my build:
-perma protection
-perma 25 might stack(no sigil, no FT, only toss elixir B,HGH..)
-on demand 80% quick uptime
-perma fury
-perma regen
-60% 3stack stability uptime
-perma swiftness
-10% resistence uptime
-1 free utility slot for current situation demand(wvw-> necro = elixir c, warrior-bulky gyro etc.)
-high sustain

In your build try to take always elixir gun. Acid bomb make great dmg and EG profit from hgh 3 times(TB, acid bomb, super elixir).

My crit chance is somewhere around 92% if I remember right. But still, even if you put everything into the offensive option, you will have medium dps and not party based. So for fracs-condi engi. For open world/wvw-your build.

Nice to find out it works.
I don’t like nades and I don’t like to join the meta bandwagon just because meta is meta and we all have to meta.
All the condi engi does for the team is add might which with the ps warriors and the revs is plenty to go around … for free basically.
One of our engies brings to the table reflects, cleanses and ccs.
I will probably change elixir B with eg for more cleanses and retal.

-lower dmg(even if you reach 100% quickness up time-and this is real)

You sure? I mean, I guess it is a bit lower than the meta, but is it really considerably lower?

-on demand 80% quick uptime

How do you get 80%? You have just the trait wich lasts 6s/10s => 60%

so, before investing a fortune in the commander stuff, i wanted to run this by the great people of the forum. I’m thinking of using this for open world, fractals, etc..

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFASnUUBtoiVXBmXB0ehlJjS8ZKgAIc7Smwi+vz7AH-TxBEABJcBA0Z/BmU+xuOAAeAAbpEke1fIFgJisA-e

Pros:
– quickness up more than 30s/40s (elixir U’s cooldown), which means >70%. All self sustained.
- tons of fury => ~80% crit chance most of the time (didn’t really do the math on that one)
- constantly > 10stacks of might….i would say it averages aroun 17 stacks.
- some survivability with the inventions line
- could switch to firearms for some more crit and 2% damage per condition
- toss elixir U reflect
- magnificent hammer utility
- can replace the blast gyro slot with whatever the party needs
Cons:
???

why is this not a thing?

Not necesarily. Would be a cool experience (with the new skills ), but probably it will get boring soon.

What I would like is to have the center of the maps completely removed along with it’s event and also to switch back to the old system = no auto upgrades => flipping camps and escorting dollies have a purpose => roaming and scouting have a purpose. Plus, removing the center pile of kitten would shrink the maps to a decent size (I find the size of the old maps more apropiate…it wouldn’t take you 10 minutes to get back into a fight after getting ganked)

and it’s quite nice in pve…
If you get enough mobs around you, you never die. Movement is great.
Tripwire+Elite chain melt most of the defiance bars.
Black powder + AA for trash mobs.
Pistol whip when you want to heal up.
Infiltrator’s strike when you want the mobs to stay put.
Swap signet of shadows to SR when you go in dungeons.
You could even switch to staff for the good heal on AA.
Also, you might want to have handy some Omnomberry Ghost food for when you need that extra healing

You will still get a lot of kitten if you want to party up for dungeons, but you’ll get used to it…

Some variations of this also work in low level PvP but you have to time your engage right. Pistol Whip + Steal ftw. This happens only when you are in a balanced pvp…most of the time your team will log out..

…it does need a little fixing, especially trinket-wise, but it gets the job done. Plus, it’s a lot of fun.
Sometimes I use HT instead of the gyro, and also swap out Elixir B for slick shoes/blast gyro/rocket boots/mine…depending on how my party is set up and how I feel about the zerg…

For zerging:
Skills: Medic gyro, Flamethrower, Slick Shoes, Bulwark Gyro (for toolbelt) and Sneak Gyro.
Most important traits: Juggernaut, Self-Regulating Defenses and Final Salvo.

Camp flamethrower most time, use slick shoes and defense field in middle of enemy zerg.

Did something happen with the retaliation while I was away?
Last time I tried ft in zerg, I killed myself from the retal in the first seconds

theorycrafting here, but I haven’t seen one yet: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fZAQRAsa6YlsMp8plOx7JsPNBTBxbAKg3x4FrvvQA-TVyCABQoEEgnAwxnEgX0PYgJIhV+1r5nl3fwH1fIFQVSjA-w

I would like to run this but the perplexity runes are expensive as hell… so theory first.
I’m thinking about thiefing around in wvw with this one.
it has the potential of stacking 10+ confusion with 1.5-1.6k condi damage (depending on might/corruption stacks) from steal+ headshot. Plus the bleeds and the torment.
Survivability…well…hide and run.

Opinions?

Zerg frontline?

so, what you guys are saying and I deduce from the builds:
– healing power is useful only for regen and backpack regenerator => no point in having elixir infused bombs (this was the main reason I went for healing power)
– I still need around 30%-40% crit rate => i can go with less power

right?

hi guys. So, i like playing with the zerg and kinda like engi, so I theorycrafted this:

What’s your take on it?
I can reach 900 healing with the sigil stacks and 2.9k power with 15 might stacks (i think it’s feasible to reach constantly as a front-liner)

i know…no crit…at all. Is it that bad?

Where the fun at?

iggy.3910

So I’m from SFR and I really wan to jump ship. It sucks: I enjoy zerging, but each time i log in and there’s a commander, we obliterate everyone else. And when we get enough points ahead, well…there’s nobody on any borderland. Oh, and after each reset, there are unimaginable queues: EBG right now has 90+.
Where’s my challenge? Where are my balanced fights? Where’s the fun?

So my question:
can someone please point me to a server with little to no queues, some zerging, and decent players?

Thanks

You need a stunbreaker imo. And you don’t really need signet of shadows when running with a zerg, do you? You have a lot of swiftness from the warriors/guardians anyways. So Shadow Step would be nice here.

I usually use signet of shadows for blinding at a distance. It allows me to escape the first contact. But I guess I can live without it.

For 1v1s I wouldnt use more then 1 signet, infiltrators signet, for another shadowstep/stunbreaker.

But I kinda need my crits from signet of agility: more crits, more quickness, more damage.

Normally I can take quite some damage, just that I need to be careful not to withdraw off a cliff or in the middle of the enemy zerg. Conditions aren’t a problem, and the aoe…just dodge away. So, for direct damage, I don’t really feel squishy but if I get stuck somehow, I do melt fast.

Again, stunbreak :-) Shadowstep and/or infiltrators signet.

Yeah…you’re right. Shadowstep would be the best option because quite often I get stuck between 2 wards.

As for the damage output, it’s decent at the least. With 20% quickness chance on crit, I burst down light and medium armor quite fast, but for heavy, it becomes a pain. Usually when dealing with guards or warriors, I wait for them to buff up, steal the buffs and then pounce on them. They do come down, but it’s slow.

I feel that #3 on sword/dagger will help you here, by stealing the buffs of your enemies, in addition to thrill of the crime :-)

I agree.

I will give it a try and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the input!

Usually I run with the front of the zerg and I can easily hold my own.
The bags don’t come as they do for a staff guard, but I get quite a decent amount.

S/P for WvW

So, some more well deserved tlc for S/P.
I’ve been on the thief for quite a while now, but I also have a guard and mesmer. I love the mobility and the in-and-out. I’ve been growing it (and at it) slowly and now it feels it needs something more.
This is the build.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fZAQRAsa6al0MpzpNOxwJ0PNhOBt9BCQB8sKTpziEXA-TFDBABf8AA0SJRXKn6TrQDHBAsUiAwJBwS1f0QJYR7PknmA90BQKgqEGB-w

I can say I am succesfully runnning in zergs and small groups. Boutiful Theft, Dagger Storm and overall blindness are quite good if well placed. The burst with pw is awesome. And the dodges… All and all I think it is a good asset to the group: you can easily buff from the enemy(stability and protection), good damage with sword 1 (with quickness is awesome), ranged protection with Dagger Storm and the eventual Smoke Screen plus crazy kitten damage if you steal from a warrior.
Sometimes I change signet of shadows for shadowstep (in case i don’t really have access to stability) or scorpion wire (to pick people of the walls or in 1v1 for starting the fight).
Any ideas on improving? It seems a bit squishy in 1v1, and there’s no way of 1v2 regardless the class.
