How Are PoF Elite Specializations Unlocked?

I’ve been crawling over everything I could find and I can’t see anything detailing how the new elite specializations will be unlocked. Will it be the same as Heart of Thorns, with the hero points or will there be a brand new way? I would love some solid information on this. Thanks.

I only played Scourge this weekend, but there were a few trait synergy issues that needed looking at. One was that Transfusion (from Blood Magic) didn’t seem to work at all when traited on a Scourge. I did love the synergy with throwing Shades up with Vampiric Presence. I didn’t understand if my sand portals disappearing were a feature or a bug, though. I would use them once twice and they’d disappear, even though they had a 20 second duration. The barrier mechanic feels ‘right’ based on the situations I encountered and am really happy with the measures you have taken to discourage stacking barriers.

I’m getting the impression that diminishing returns is unfairly hammering people here. In the last 4 days I’ve been doing 3-4 fractals in the Casual and adept scales for dailies and the like, but my loot has dropped to blues and junk items worth less than the keys to get them. I’m not repeating the same fractals every day, and I’m picking pretty much randomly out of the list of ones I had left to do. Is anyone else having similar experiences?

After trying all the relogging/quest reset stuff, I’m still having issues with Sign Cutting. The fix definitely made the first step work, but at the second and third step it is still failing to update.

Daredevil almost felt like it was “there,” with regards to pve. Synergies with other traitlines were there and it was also really neat being able to build a rhythm with dodging and initiative with staff. (All of this post is going to be pve-focused)

Positives:
-The punching skills are very fun to use.
-A new angle from which to play thief, more of a sustained damage dealer.

Issues/concerns:
-The daredevil’s place in pve. As a brawler this class is fragile and not incredibly strong either. A thief should be rewarded more for getting up-close and personal, due to the combined effects naturally low health and being in melee range. Staff affords great mobility, but it is short on survival tricks. This opens up a pitfall in the “sustained damage” behavior of this class, since if you’re not instagibbing and you’re not stealthing, and you’re in melee, you’re probably gonna get hit.

-Vault and AI. This skill has a lot of unused potential in my eyes. It’s just clunky to use. Especially against melee targets controlled by the AI, since when you back up to wind up for the offensive dodge, the foe will follow you and you fly over their head harmlessly. The main ways to work around this is to dodge/roll back then fly in again (counterproductive) or get your target against a wall (not always present.)

Comments/Solutions:
-The daredevil’s place in pve is not an issue that can be hammered out in one change, but a good way to improve quality of life while that is worked out is either higher damage (to win fights faster and justify being squishy) or traits or attack skills that apply some defenses in greater volume (How is the blind on staff 4 supposed to compete with pistol 5 for saving a thief from death?). The third option here would be to split thief hp in pve and pvp and give them more of a chance to soak up a hit in pve(overall thief QOL.)

-Vault: I don’t really know how to fix those issues, and I hope I’m not the only one having trouble with them, but one QOL change that would improve Vault’s behavior for me would be having vault go forward on dodge instead of back like a normal dodge roll. I don’t DT, and the forward-dodge input just feels clunky to me.

-Counter blocks: I really like this part of the game, and especially the physical utility one, but perhaps having one built into staff to make it play a little more like some of the warrior skills would make this class a little better suited for pve.

A lot of what this class does currently feels “right,” especially in that most of the traits do not tie you to the greatsword, but the necromancer’s lack of reliable stunbreaks or even stability (outside of foot in the grave) really sticks out in a lot of the CC-heavy fights. The Legendary Fire Wyvern sticks out in this category of “things you can’t really get yourself out of as a reaper.” What could really round this out as a melee class is some kind of trait that would apply a conditional stability, or maybe tack a microstability (like well of power) to shouts when traited or something. Necro has never really been a mobile or dodging class, and reaper definitely isn’t, so it just seems natural they’d have a few more tricks for standing their ground up their sleeve.

I used to have a similar issue to this, it would mostly hit me in WorldvWorld. I thought it was graphics and tried a different GPU and still had the issue, but I played on someone else’s internet connection and it worked. It turned out I had to update my router, so if you feel uncomfortable poking around in your router, try your account and machine on another connection to effectively rule this option out.

Vomit Animations

So I ate so much candy that I puked all over Lion’s Arch. Then an idea clicked. Re-purposing this animation for use in well utility skills! While merely a cosmetic improvement, it would certainly solidify the aesthetic of a necromantic mage to see the player vomiting out a black combo field. This also fits into the bodily functions aesthetic set forth by Foul Current. Or to take this to shark-jumping levels, the player’s head could spin and vomit for the downed skill “Fear.” I think such changes could inject some comedy into even mundane encounters.

Transmuting Soulbound Items

Many people are aware that soulbound items may be transmuted to become account bound. The process is even on the wiki (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Transmutation ). While it provides a very convenient way to obtain some very desirable items, it’s possibly an exploit. I’m not really looking for a debate justifying or condemning the practice, but I am wondering if it would it be possible for someone to give an official statement on this matter, with details on what consequences will befall those who have exploited this.
