^ This is what I’ve been running in HoT. It’s been really fun in PvE and seems to be working pretty well in WvW as well. I haven’t tested it in sPvP yet though.

I’m not 100% certain on the choices. I was using shortbow instead of D/D before HoT and I may go back to it. If so I’d switch Deadly Arts #1 to trapper’s respite of course. I think my favorite part of HoT is that my dodges are now essentially death blossoms that also give +10% condi dmg.

Needle trap and caltrops are definitely good. The thing with Thief traps is that they are instant, so you don’t really have to rely on someone walking into them; you drop them directly on top of the other person. If you already have caltrops down and you drop a trap on them, then they now are stuck in the caltrops field.

Skill #7 I flex all the time. Not sure what I want there yet. In PvE I usually just use signet of shadows to run around even faster. Roll for initiative is nice for more Death Blossoms and as a stunbreak. And Impairing Daggers looks pretty interesting.

I know it seems like Arenanet doesn’t care, but at the current moment, they are trying to fix a UI that will affect a HUGE percentage of their PvE Playerbase,

yes messages might have been Helpful, but that is the past, so They are working to make UI compatible with their PvE content, and I’m sure at some point in the future, After they schedule specific events and etc etc, they will do a WvW based feature Patch or somehting that will make it somehow better, Such as More Maps, Maybe the possibility of more servers fighting eachother at once? hmmmmmmmmmm?

They have been awful at announcing betas for WvW content…. And should have just released it to all to see real “server” beta’ing for realsies. The fact they only selecte certain accounts/guilds for WvW means they give no kittens about beta’ing it for real.

Squad UI is a huge feature for WvW… you get that right? What they’re trying to beta test right now is for your benefit too. Did it occur to you that the new map might not actually need all that much testing while the squad UI (obviously) does?

Yes, i do know what commander tags are used for, i’m not an idiot. All i’m saying is, They are adding 10 man content into GW2 with hoT, Which requires Raid Squads, which is a tag. HoT is PvE based, so complaining about WvW so much ins’t goign to help them progress their PvE/WvW sqaud system, it’ll just mean they keep putting it off, or do it during the week when eveyrone is mid-wvw

If you have an NVIDIA card, you can get shadow play for free through NVIDIA GeForce experience. There’s a setting where it’s always recording and you can hit alt+f10 to save the last (x) minutes of gameplay. You can change the length and quality of the saved video.

I’ve been thinking about checking that out. any idea if the quality is on par with fraps recording full sized?

The cele signet is decent at best it doesn’t cure flaws and is quite situational just countering ele is not a valid reason to call it really strong. MM is where it’s at that will always be necro’s most potent spec but obviously it’s limited due to AI patterns.

Actually, having a spec that counters a build that is considered OP IS a pretty valid reason. Yes, the class may not be perfect, but it has a role. I’m considering specing my Necro for Anti-Ele and swapping to it whenever I see a Ele on the enemy team. Even if it’s only moderately effective against other classes, taking the OP class out of the picture is super valuable.

having the role of countering the strongest build in the game is quite significant.

what changes are you referring to for an anti-ele build? the standard cele signet build seems to be as anti-ele as it can get (although i swap locust for corrupt boon)

cross your fingers and hope they pop plague signet early, which is common for a lot of average necros. but against a good player, just be patient and don’t yolo all your condis at once. as Sunshine said in the 2nd post, try to out rotate them

its pretty funny how some of the most hated builds (d/d ele, burn guards, ramp wars) are countered by a cele necro. not the strongest build by any means, but countering those classes makes it worth it

If you don’t think Cele Necro countes D/D Ele, you aren’t playing Cele Necro properly.

Or maybe the one who’s not playing properly is the ele…

Even though theres nothing wrong with its range (execpt for those times your OBVIOUSLY WITHIN RANGE AND IT SAYS YOU ARE NOT) and for it not to be so unreliable when using it on someone who isn’t standing still or running towards you.

i agree. something about the grasp range, every now and then just feels unreliable to me.

can’t really go wrong with donee’s signet roaming build. it does great against classes that give others a lot of trouble. however, good rangers can be annoying.
