Raid rewards vendor not unlocking

I just got my first Gorseval kill today and went to the vendor to see what unlocked. Trinkets. Trinkets are what unlocked. Everything else that said it should unlock after defeating Gorseval is still locked. Not a huge deal to me, since I couldn’t afford any of that stuff, but still a real problem.

This was not unique to me, as the two or three other people who got their first Gorse kill in the group have the same issue. We all sent a report through the in-game bugs in one way or another, but it didn’t seem like there was a category in that system that this fit into.

You wouldn’t, by chance, happen to be a writer in need of a job would you? Because I’m sure that for you, arenanet would be hiring… or at least they are in my dreams.

to just fail it.

Sure, why not? It’s a game, not a second job – there should be room to try and fail.

Failure is a step on the road to success. Somehow the internet thinks it can find a workaround. Most people seem happy to change expectations and effectively label failure as success so they can stop trying, a method that seems to have some very verbal proponents on these forums recently.

I’m with you on this one though. I acknowledge my failures in games as being necessary to the enjoyment of my successes, and will be quite disappointed if the opportunity to defeat this new Tequatl is taken away from me.

I just don’t find tribulation mode concept to be fun at all. It’s a maze with a single route that you need to follow.

May have sounded cool and interesting on paper, but in practice it was a flop for me.

There’s actually not a single route to follow. I’ve watched several peoples youtube videos and so far none of them have taken the same route I did, in any world that I’ve watched.

I have 2 yellow skins and 5 green skins from trib mode and while I did buy an infinite continue coin and use it for world 1, I actually put it away for world 2 to see how it changed the content for me. I ran out of continue coins and started using baubles and bauble bubbles to buy more when I needed them and I can say for certain that the content is entirely doable without an infinite continue coin. I died a lot, to be sure, it was not easy, but considering you get 250+ baubles from completing a zone in Trib Mode you’ll never actually run out of continues if you are someone who enjoys the content enough to continue playing it. 250 baubles is a bauble bubble, which is 5 continue coins, which is 25 lives. If you find yourself in hell without a continue coind you can buy one for 50 baubles. When you are playing Trib Mode the bauble bubbles are really only good for spending on lives, since you need a total of 0 for the Trib Mode skins. I can do W1Z1 in less than 10 minutes and rarely need more than 1 continue coin.

World 2, and all the Trib Mode content is completely doable. Having a difficult time is intended. If you don’t enjoy the content, play some other part of GW2. I didn’t enjoy the farming content from Southsun, Jubilee, or Clockwork updates. They weren’t designed for players like me, SAB was though. I think it’s awesome that the releases cater to different player types that enjoy GW2.

With all that said though, I do agree that for World 2 out of 4 (or 5 judging by the map if you count what must be the end boss area) the less than intuitive geysers in 2-1 and the length of 2-2 were a little over the top. They geysers were completely fine having the strange knockdown behavior if they were used in a manner than graphically described the results so players knew the source of the knockdown, and the length of 2-2 would be better suited for world 3 or more likely 4.

World 2 Zone 2 was easily the most difficult in my opinion. I think a big part of it is that it just seems too long. It could almost be split up into 2 different zones and be good. World 2 Zone 3 was very cool though. I have only played World 2 on Trib Mode so far so I’m not sure how it compares to the normal mode, but there were so many precise corner jumps and difficult timings involved in getting through Zone 3 that is was by far my favorite.

Don’t listen to the whiners Anet, SAB is wonderful. I still even have 33 continue coins and some baubble bubbles. I put my Infinite Continue coin away when I got through World 1. I spent the majority of my Baubble Bubbles on Continue Coins and so wouldn’t be able to afford the blue Super Skins, but the trade off is that I have Green and Yellow skins. By the way, I still have 45 Baubble Bubbles, which each can be traded for 5 continue coins. So I have 258 Continue Coins still available to me. I did farm a lot of Baubble Bubbles last time SAB was around though and started with plenty more than most people would have.

Why are people so kitten ed at the Trib nerf?

World 2 needed more checkpoints, specifically in trib mode, but this is the internet and people here will always complain. I finished W2Z2 yesterday and actually think the zone is a little too long in general, but there were definitely places that in trib mode that needed a checkpoint closer to. I’m more upset about reading that the geysers don’t rise and fall anymore, since without that the whole section of W2Z1 is, I think, oversimplified.

Also the mode may be boring to you, but a lot of people really enjoy games like that. If you don’t, you can always play SAB on another mode. Like infantile.

Most frustrating thing ever. (It's a bug)

TM: How do those bouncing stones work?

in Super Adventure Box: Back to School

Dodge and jump at the same time. It’s easiest to use a dodge key rather than double tapping a direction. The default key for dodge is V, which is convenient, for myself at least as it’s very comfortable for me to press V and the Spacebar at the same time with my left thumb.

Keep in mind when doing it that you lose control of your character for the duration of the jump as soon as you start it, so there’s no fine tuning your landing. In my experience if it’s possible for me to overshoot my target, I probably will. So it’s much better used to jump away from something than towards something. You also might not want to use it to try to land on anything that doesn’t have an edge to catch your forward movement.

Jump onto them from as far away as possible and then quickly dodge jump off of them. When possible dodge roll against them then jump on top of them. The stomp has a small cool down of a second or two and they don’t seem to stomp when your standing directly on top of them. If it seems like they do it’s probably because they started the stomp as you were approaching them or you are only standing partly on top of them.

In the above case jump to stone #1, jump from there to the stomp rock, then quickly dodge jump to the leaves across from it.

There’s several places where you can shortcut some Trib Mode content with a quick dodge jump, either because it deals well with these stomp rocks or because it gives you just enough extra distance to clear otherwise impassible spike traps. For example you can avoid the entire hill in Zone 1 that has a chest on top of it by dodging against a certain stomp rock to get on top of it, then dodge jumping over the spike traps to the checkpoint.

Event and Chest Bugs?

in Queen's Jubilee

iplayBANJO.9543

I’m at 27/30 and this is happening to every chest I try now. When I’m at the bottom the chest can be clicked on and the name appears when I hold ctrl, but by the time I get to the top it’s open, I can’t click it, and the name is gone; all as if I had already looted it.

This is the only Queen’s Jubilee achievement I have left, and it’s upsetting that I can’t finish it. I decided to finish the achievement to cool off because I was so frustrated with being unable to defeat Liadri even while being able to consistently get to where I could damage her… and then this.

Getting gold from TP

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

iplayBANJO.9543

I am confused about something. Either there is a mechanic I am unaware of, or I am getting a lucky bug.

Everytime I buy a large amount of mats from the TP, like 250 leather sections, I find that I have about 10s in the pick up tab along side my mats. I’ve had it happen before with smaller amounts as well, but it has been worrying me a bit as I am only trying to use the trading post to level my crafts in parallel with my character and it’s getting to the point that if it is a bug that is being exploited that I am concerned my account will be banned for using an exploit.

I have sent bug reports using the in-game method, but seeing all this fuss about people losing gold on the TP, I’m also concerned that this had something to do with it. If it is related, I had it happen most recently earlier today after the TP came up from maintnence.
