Grenade skill #1 needs hard target

Sounds like you need to L2P, I can grenade on the run like a boss. If grenades were hard targeted it would be to OP, I think they work fine they way they are intended. You can still run and kite with WASD while re-targeting your grenades when needed. IMO put the grenades away when your on the run, you have better options.

They grenades are super OP, I can keep and entire towers wall defenders at bay chucking grenades up at them. Each #1 hits for at least 1k and when specd and geared for condition damage the bleeds and poisons do a lot of damage. Same story with defending.

Turrets: how do you like them?

Turrets are extremely useful when used right, not to mention the tool belt skills they give do decent damage.
Rifle Turret – Does more damage then you think with its active ability but i find myself using this the least.
Rocket Turret – Best damage as far as I can tell and has great range. It’s active ability is very usefull for it’s knockdown.
Net turret – I use it i dungeons mostly, great snare but a little slow and easy to kill.
Flame turret – Slow attack but great Aoe damage, It’s active ability blind targets around it which can be very useful.
Tumper turret – Happens to be one of my favorites for tough PVE situations. I does great damage and has an awesome activate knock back for CC. It’s also a lot tougher to kill.
Healing turret – Provides a pretty good initial healing and ok regen but I don’t think it’s enough to make a huge difference. It’s active cures conditions which can be useful.

Overall I like the turrets but they are very situational.

  1. misses when you are out of range, it has a pretty short range on it. I use it mostly for utility as the knock back and blind are very useful. The #4 ability also does a a lot of damage if enemies stand in it as well as providing a burning combo to everyone.

Turret AI

I have found a lot of issues with turret targeting and would love it if they would follow my marked targets. In dungeon I’ve found if I place offensive turrets before a fight they target random enemies through walls and just keep trying to fire on them.
I have learned to count on enemies targeting my turrets and use it in my favor. It allows me to get out of sticky situations with my turrets tanking damage.

The biggest issue I see is not being able to control what they attack or when.

Ya you’re missing a alot. I do mostly WvW and find tons of utility as an engineer. Right now I’m a pistol/shield condition damage spec with explosions. Hands down I’d say I’m one of the best classes for assaulting and defending towers and such. The grenades can be thrown up at the ledges keeping the defenders at bay and vice versa for defending. PIstol and shield provides a lot of self preservation and crowd control. The rifle can put out a ton of damage specd as glass cannon.
Either way, look at all your elixirs more, healing utility and your kits. The possibilities are endless.
