Guild Wars 2

I am not a hard core gamer. Would like to be but hey I have a family and only get like 1-2 hours to play in the evening at best and that is only some evenings.

That being said when I saw people hacking in WvW mixed in with the rest of the crap it has me on the edge of quitting the game and spending my time elsewhere.

1. WvW (balance is so bad and I don’t want to reward GW2 with money so I can transfer to a populated server.) (I am on Kaineng) (Kaineng currently is Very High Population as the tumbleweeds are blowing down the street.)

2. Thieves (Pernament invisibility and can 3 shot you. I have seen cases where a thief can go into a group of 10, kill someone, and just invis out. While you just get rezzed it is still so broke and stupid)

3. Hacking – Really GW2 was written so poorly that you can really hack. I didn’t believe it until I saw it and then googled it and saw how easy it is.

4. ANET is complete unresponsive to any of the above issues that I know the majority of the community think are the top problems. Sad really.

I really love the massive PvP and unfortunately don’t know any other games that do massive PvP with Siege etc… but I guess I start my journey of researching to find out if any other games are doing it and maybe even doing it well.

Isn’t Karma pretty much useless? I have tons of karma and have no idea what to do with it.

Thanks for the responses. They are helpful. I have decided I will logon when I want to play and if I don’t even see any commanders (This happens more than you think at 9:30PM CST which is many times when I can get on during the week because of kids.) then I can just logoff and do somethine else. PvE just doesn’t entertain me much.

I am a zerg kind of guy and like to play as a team. I can tell you that weekends have always been good times.

I wish the servers were high populations. You want high populations as the events are triggered by population. More WvW if you populations are high etc….

When I PvE in Kaineng (Very high) I am unlikely to see another soul.

I am not willing to transfer because I am not willing to pay to transfer just so I can play the game I want. I will quit first. I also have my kids who play as well and they would have to transfer as well.

It will not break my heart to just not play the game which is where I will probably go or maybe just level up some other characters.

Who knows maybe Anet will fix it. I remember when I first started you didn’t have to pay to transfer servers.

I did see one interesting post that people will actual pay you to transfer. That is interesting.

So I have noticed we have even less people online then normal which is saying something since we were always outnumbered anyway.

So I only really like WvW. I am not willing to transfer. So does that mean the game is dead for me?

Anyone have a pep talk or know if anything is going to be changing soon?

Brutaly – the problem I am having is that whoever I have targeted by the time the 3rd hit goes around it never even happens so I don’t get the symbol at all. I actually want the protection buff.

I am running the healway build with soldier runes. Would like to use the hammer but may switch to Greatsword because I am having difficulties landing the 3rd hit for symbol of protection.

People just don’t stay near you long enough to get off the skill. Any suggestions?

I play on Kaineng so we are almost alway outnumbered which doesn’t help.

In general it is very hard to stay with anyone because they can kite so much more effectively then I can.

Arlette, I think that video is more for PvP and not WvW. Maybe I am wrong.

I don’t mind Kiting when you are say doing a dungeon or special instance but as a normal part of the game mechanics? I play for relaxation and to check out. Now I don’t always have to kite but I sure have to do it way more often then I like and espcially the story lines. My level 15 asura mesmer on opening the portal and killing the elites I think I had to kite for 5 minutes to finally kill it. Elite monsters on a personal story come on.

I also need to kite unless you are extremely careful and god forbid get an add or two.

Love GW2 still and let the “you suck” begin.

Do want to stress that I am not saying I can’t finish them just that I don’t think it is worth it if I have to kite and use every mechanic possible just to stay alive. No relaxation kill crap just for the fun for me.

So if someone was doing crafting mostly for XP it seemed to me that it would is more time effective (Not to mention cost effective) to just do either more dynamic events or go to a different area and do more heart quests.

Is this assessment correct strictly from a XP point.

BTW – Another soluton is to puchase your other copies from Amazon. I did not want to wait 24 hours for support to get back to me and just ask a bunch more questions so that is how I got my other copy.

You would think arenanet would want my money but go figure.

Sadly, I have the same problem. It is probably a matter of time as I bought an account for me last week and now it let me buy one for my one son but not the other.

I think I recently got signet of healing and it did make a difference. Good to know on the personal story and boars.

ok before you rag on me for being a noob etc… I have quite a bit of experience with many different MMO’s.

My question is do other people have survivability issues at low level (around 10).

For example in Breaking the Blade (Human) where you have to kill Doc Howler before Two Blade Pete. I think I had to do this 3 or 4 times and had to finish him off why down. Died like 3 times. I tried quite a few different weapons.

I also died taking on 2 level 11 boars while level 10. Now that I have my first trait it seemed to help but just wondering how bad I stink!

I have no problems as a guardian, necro and too early to tell on mesmer but maybe might have some problems with mesmers multi mob.
