i have the exact same issue except for hd space same card though havent had an issue installing drivers but its the same error ive posted about since launch every patch it stays the same and noone has given a answer that works yet i have to start the computer at least 4 times before it decides to run and then after playing for about a minute then 1450 error though sometimes it might let me play all day
ive actually stopped playing as the fact i have to restart so much i lose interest in playing the game

this error has occurred for me since beta and increased more and more after launch with every subsequent patch the error happens seems the client causes the video drivers to crash and no amount of uninstalling repairing or anything else seems to fix it
the error in question has been said to be that the hdd doesnt have enough space but if that was true why would a hdd with nothing on it but gw2 with at least 52 gig of free space not be enough space
there was a merged forum post that has alot of ppl with this same error i myself have been posting and checking back since launch
i personally have a sequence of things that happen
start the client click play error 1450
restart comp
its to be said at the time of the error the drivers have crashed making anything that uses them unable to work while flash player works fine albeit with tearing issues in the nvidia control panel
after restart run client again upon clicking play it bsods the drivers have crashed
upon reboot one of two things happen
either a error 1450 or b the game runs more often then not its a rather then b
now by the time ive repeated this process til the game runs i have lost interest in playing
the only way i can keep this from happening is to leave the client running all the time just sitting on the character select screen if i want to play i must make sure i have no instances of plugin_container.exe then i can play though its a 50/50 the error will occur or not
if i at any point close the client i must start the process over hence leaving open the client
also of note other games that call for higher specs dont have this issue
gta 4,episodes of liberty city,batman arkham asylum and arkham city,la noire,the witcher 2,skyrim,crysis 2
all of which run fine with the exception of gta4 which has a known memory leak
even it runs fine until the memory runs out
and the witcher 2 which is known for very high requirements runs fine
many of these games i can run side by side with gw2 when it doesnt error though i only tried it to see what would happen so please dont think i regularly run multiple games at a time
but it doesn’t i still consistently get the error/bsod restarting my computer 3-4 times gets the game to work again updating graphics does nothing to solve the problem
error then bsod then error then finally the game works if it crashes mid game as it tends to do alot it wont start again just hangs at the launcher restarting the computer is the only way

What I’m asking for is not for new content to be single-player – it’s for it to offer a single-player option, or to scale with the number of people. Currently, Holiday events seem to emphasize group play more than anything, to the point where it’s borderline impossible to do them alone – and a slog through hordes to find out that the boss is just too much.
I know a lot of people like playing in big groups, or going and just joining a random party – I just don’t. I prefer to group up with people I know (generally met elsewhere, or through mutual acquaintances), and if they aren’t around, then I’d still like to be able to do events like Holiday things without joining group #5632, -and- have fun. I’m also a big fan of more options, thus my suggestion of having things like this scale.
I realize that this is perhaps a strange issue to have as far as an MMO goes; it just so happens that I am terrible with people, for a variety of reasons I’m just not going to go into, but like playing games.
Edit: Also, when I say “They make it take forever?” I’m not being a speed-snob, if there is such a thing. I actually like taking my time and examining things. I just happen to also find “Now go destroy eighteen turrets, in the midst of hordes of enemies,” incredibly uninteresting after the first, I don’t know, five? Doesn’t matter if there’s five people in the group or just me – hordes of enemies and a high objective count doesn’t seem like fun, just padding.
i agree and to that end gw1 did scale down the difficulty when running solo
so i dont see why it cant be done here though they kinda want you to help each other and they are trying to remove the stigma of pugs bad guildies good
that said given the attitude of anet in “play your way” kinda thing i cant see not having something story line like as an alternative maybe
and for those who would say that would end up everyone just doing that maybe but i dont think so
ppl who still run with the attitude that its all about me and everyone else is just not worth my time is missing out on the game its not a race you should slow down and enjoy the scenery much like life the game is meant to be looked at why else all the vistas

I admit that the rewards were far more enticing in GW1, but I find the event fairly fun still overall. Granted, I would enjoy it better if the dungeons could be soloed. Not that I have had a problem finding a group, dungeons just aren’t my thing (For instance, I won’t be grinding fractals). I just hope that they keep the Tixx dungeon evolving as they go and get slightly more imaginative with it. Having Toxx as the boss all the time will get old and repetitive. Quickly.
I agree that they need to bring back the candy cane shards and the eggnog. As it currently stands we can trade in the ugly clothing for gifts, which aren’t of any use until you get enough for the skin we want (though I can’t say that I am all that interested in any of them) or a unstable present (which from what I gather is a random skin/ item anyway).

The Winter Wonderland is even worse than the Clocktower. I didn’t think it could be done, but somehow you did it. You made a jumping puzzle that is even more impossible (yes, I know that it’s impossible to be more than impossible, but this is indeed even more impossible). Those of us who have trouble with the existing jumping puzzles (whether because of the movement engine’s fiddly hitboxes, the myopic field of view and lack of depth cues, poor reflexes or disabilities, or any other reason) are completely screwed for this one; there is no hope whatsoever of getting its achievement.
I thought you were going to be inclusive to all players with your content, but apparently there is in fact some content that’s locked away from a section of the playerbase by design.
Do not repeat this performance in subsequent events.
It’s so much easier.

Yeah, thanks for the hot tip, genius. I already do that. I’m not an idiot. The game has no depth cues at all and I still have to pause after every jump to realign myself and hit the next platform. This is why I couldn’t do the Clocktower, there wasn’t time to do that. There isn’t time to do that on this one, either. I’m glad all you twitch-masters can pull it off but I’ve given it twelve tries already and it’s still damned impossible for someone like me.
agreed my camera is practically riding my neck the whole time and to top it off im getting slowed down makes no sense to have no idea where im going
i liked the clocktower and this one is ok but i never finished the clocktower owing to the extreme difficulty and this one appears to be no better
and id like to add this is not easy you might think it is the clocktower was insane and this one is just as bad with not one path but three that appear to change each time
plus the waiting after ive fallen off the first snowflake is enough to make me give up first try
And actually, the game is on our side. Our choices aren’t duel or get out… we can fight and take points as the mode is designed and do what we want… those options you posted are actually the choices of the people that wish to duel, as it should be, until the duel mode you want is added.
I try to join only 6/10 or higher, but it’s exactly the attitudes similar to the one present in the semantics of your post that make me just play now and ignore the complaints.

It’s more like me bringing my friends to play basketball, that we play every week there, and suddenly you’ve decided to do yoga in the middle of my basketball court, just because you like it there. If you’re polite, we will let you do your thing, but if you’re a pretentious jerk saying “WTF NOOB THIS IS A YOGA COURT” then me and my friends will just play ball there because it’s a BASKETBALL COURT.
And let’s not make this “our” fault, the people trying to play the game… if you’re respectful, I have no problem giving you your space, and I do… and I never join a 5v5 less than 6/10. And frustrated as I am, I usually end up leaving, after reporting someone for calling me one of several bannable terms for trying to play the actual mode.

ok after installing a program to do some android compiling the program found that i had some direct x runtime components that needed updating which i didnt realize i didnt have already this seems to have fixed the issue though im not totally sure

yes that appears to have fixed my issue of no buy button or sell screen

The BLTC’s is blank for me since i bought the game about 2 weeks ago.
1. I can see that there are alot of problems regarding BLTC
2. I just love how in many threads the official reply is that they want to help us but they just can’t reproduce the problem and its not wide spread.
3. The blank BLTC seems to be so popular in the game that it turned out to be a normal thing and noone seems to be surprised by it anymore. When i ask about it in game people just reply with “its not working”.
4. What’s even more funny/interesting is that when i told people that one of my friends is able to acces and use BLTC normaly everyone on the server was so suprised that they just thought I was lying.
5. It looks like the BLTC is not working for so many players that if they dont read forums and wont search the problem online they just assume the service is officialy offline.
6. What suprises me the most is why this problem wasnt fixed for such a long time. I mean the BLTC is arena net main source of money is it not? So why didnt they fixed this and why are they acting like its a small problem that only few people have?

OK….. i was just about to go to sleep when i decided to try something obvious and stupid. I forced the game to launch as administrator (even though i’m on administrator all the time) and BLTC works for me now… I checked the forum and few people was able to solve their problem using this solution and some are still unable to use BLTC. Well great i fixed the BLTC but now the game stopped recognizing additional mouse buttons (back, forward)… Ahh PC gaming at its finest….
tried it once more just to see if maybe it would help this time aand it did the same thing it did the last time made it worse now every screen is blank including the gem store
so again run as admin makes it worse for me
i have been very patient it worked in beta and then at launch its stopped working right as it got better for a day it went back to being broke
ive been patient since day one and honestly im very frustrated that its still not working same greyed out buy button and blank sell screen
i havent even bothered trying my gem card because i dont wish to waste my money on something that wont work
been this way for me since launch has only worked sporatically like twice since launch and i have been posting about it for awhile hoping someone is paying attention and can make this a priority cant make more money off gem cards if there is no point in buying one because you cant use your gem store or tp

This being a one-time and short time event is what makes it a little bit frustrating. To do the events you really have to dedicate around three days straight just for Guildwars 2. Why not have it in seven days instead? Sigh…
Also it is weird as players during the event needed to tune in on Twitter and wait for the Tweets by developers just for the community to know what was going on.

Update:
I had BTD 23 minutes into the event. When I was able to login 6 minutes later, the event was finished. I was credited with 10 kills, but because of lag, client disconnects and BTD I received no loot, I got reduced participation (because of disconnect not all achievements had been logged for me) and I received no event result (because of BTD I was not in the game, when that was distributed).
Final result: I took part in the one-time-event and I got nothing out of it.
That is really bad.
i hear ya i was there the whole time still got nothing due to lag no achievements no kills no nothing and they tell us to wp out and back to try to alleviate lag and that just got the creatures invisible again after i had just started to see them
heck i figured id get something like with the halloween event i at least got a 10 slot bag this event nothing at all
i am not able to run the game without the command line parameter -useoldfov as well as -windowed without these command lines the game will not run it will crash with a fatal disk error
so i am unable to use the new fov at all

You’re ignoring the fact that if you choose to NOT grind for skins, there really isn’t anything else to do in the game that has any ‘reasonable’ long term goals.
You’re complaining about lack of end-game and asking to make Legendary, only viable end-game content, to be easier to acquire. It doesn’t make sense.
Why spend months or years boringly grinding for materials and gold, then putting them in a casino slot machine to get a skin.
What about option to buy precursor off TP? Is TP bugged or you can’t use it for some other reason?
yes it actually is bugged for me havent been able to use it since launch and even if i could i wouldnt come close to 400 g they need to increase drops somewhat and maybe provide some more money into the economy without my tp im broke i cant even buy my armor let alone a 400g weapon that im going to be using to maybe getting a legendary

If you run the program and nothing happends that’s ok, it is as it should be.

I got that from their customer support yet it has done nothing for me. I’ve also reinstalled the game with the same issue.

thank you but this hasnt been my first post on it though it has gotten better then when at launch as i can actually buy things but cant sell as with before it was nothing
ive already done everything suggested with no change in behavior but i keep updating here so it has been documented and lets the devs know what changes have occurred
well after i restart my computer i find i can buy but not see stats or anything and not sell or sometimes i can sell but buy wont work then a little while later ill go to check again and it will be error invalid authorization
i want to buy a gem card but i dont want to til this gets sorted out as i wouldnt be able to use it anyway
actually i have to say something here im on isle of janthir server and have done that event several times and
honestly i cant see why anyone would do it over and over
having said this i personally have waited around for at least 3 times to do the event
only on the first time did i get anything even gold and that was just two pistol and a warhorn
on the other two times i actually waited each time at the location for the dragon and when done
several times in a row the drops become blues and maybe greens
but my point is that the drops are diminished each time you repeat the event without actually doing other things
you have to wait til next day just to get decent drops again from the event
and this was something i tested myself just to settle a disagreement me and my cousin had
i will repeat this test to make certain that this is a correct assessment
i dont think its weird but more like the thief in a sense idk how everyone is playing theirs but mine i chaos storm switch to duel blades illusionary leap switch with clone sword skill number 2 for invulnerability and dodge around the enemies in circles every dodge leaves a clone and by the time im done smash the clones to finish them off
There isn’t enough time for people to do that on some servers. When I play, if you can’t do a significant amount of damage in 2 or 3 seconds, the mobs are dead and you won’t get credit. Often I would try dropping a Chaos Storm as the mobs were spawning, get out a Clone, then start mashing Shatter and the mobs would be dead before the Clone walked a few feet to Shatter. Then I end up with no loot and move onto the next spawn point to try again…
im not saying you have to lay down the chaos storm the mesmer is all about thinking ahead of your enemy rather then just straight attacking so strategy is required here
oh and while im at it thats all i tend to do is help others with events i butt into other events all the time often walk away with a gold metal
If you’re not getting any loot from events then I agree with you it’s time for you to roll another toon. I suggest a warrior or an aoe specced Clothie as they will probably fit more your playing style.
Same for the peeps not doing well in PVE. May be the Mesmer isn’t a toon for you. No shame and I’m not flaming here.
Mesmer has a very weird playing style and in some way with a lot of contradictions. This is actually his/her strength once mastered a bit, but it’s also a hell of an headache when you can’t see the “light” in that playing style.

Pretty surprised that they made Phantasms worse. I definitely thought they needed a buff for more effective PVE use. This patch nerfs DPS and AOE, two areas Mesmers do not exactly excel at…
dont know my duel sword mesmer right now seems to dole out dps and aoe at least effectivly not the top im sure but i have no trouble standing and holding ground like a tank that does dps lol
afraid im still getting a blank tp screen and still no fix yet though to the poster above about the ui normal is what its been doing well with and cliff had stated they are working on a fix for that so maybe something soon?
the whole game is a giant catalyst for groups the original guild wars you capped at 20 but yet the world was just starting to open to you.
at 80 it becomes important to have backup as things get much tougher and you do find that the world has just opened so places you thought you have been before you find have new meaning as you go back to do stuff you missed or just to help a friend.
unlike other mmo’s your given incentive to go back at 80 and help others even if you aint 80 yet you still find going back isnt a bad thing.
Since I always decline guild invites that happen without a simple Hello..
Same with group invites from players I’ve never seen on screen and I look around, each time.
your not alone in this i feel if they dont have time to at least come up and talk to me forget it i mean it says alot about a guild if they actually ask you rather then send a impersonal letter in your mailbox
whats more is i dont think the community is antisocial its just they are so used to the cookie cutter mmo they havent quite adjusted to the new cooperative way of playing
it will take time for ppl to realize its about the fun your supposed to be having its not your job its a game to be explored and enjoyed

im a lvl 65 mesmer i have played since beta i honestly have no idea what im supposed to do or be but and i say this from a limited pvp experience so please no bashing.
my mesmer is a duel mesmer my blurred frenzy is op and i love it. also ive never used moa seems too much like the warlock in some other mmo. honestly i prefer my balthazar hounds over 10 sec speed as they are extra meat shield and massive aoe damage dealers
when i do my job right i can lay into anything like a tank and underwater im nigh unstoppable
