you get to a boss that requires absolutely perfect timing , precision AND LUCK to defeat.
Fixed.
I am not sure what you mean. You want it to require luck? Because Liadri takes no luck at all. There is nothing random about the fight.
That is valid. Since I am dreaming here, it may be fun if there were profession specific bosses to get a legendary something for your profession. I highly doubt that Anet is going to put in that many hours to develop 8 near impossible bosses, though.
Now that people are sufficiently QQ’ing about the Gauntlet, what if Anet was to make the arenas even more difficult? What I mean is, upon the return of the arena in the coming months they add a few more tiers of bosses until you get to a boss that requires absolutely perfect timing and precision to defeat. No room for any mistakes whatsoever.
What would be the purpose? To obtain an item used in the creation of legendary equipment. In this case legendaries would be an icon of skill… as well as countless hours poured into the game. This would indicate that the player could actually play as opposed to just by a legendary off the Trading Post or farm mats.
Maybe create new legendary items that can be acquired this way?
What do you think?
ArenaNet, please stop trolling the player base and remove all non-berserk/rampager gear from pve, since that they are obviously useless.
Funny, I completed it with the majority of my gear being knight.
I’m sure anyone could complete it with trial and error and not minding dying zillion times, but that is not for me. I simply hate dying in any game always have and i guess this content isn’t meant for me. Break for gw2 may be in order.
I noticed that you said you tried this with a ranger. I am a ranger as well. This is not meant as a boast but I found every fight up until the norn and his dog (T3) to be rather easy. I didn’t lose a single fight without reworking my build, changing my gear (which is unimpressive), or even changing my weapons. All it took was reading the enemies and constantly moving while dealing damage. Just don’t be afraid to move and dodge and you will be fine.
Any advice on this fight in the Queen’s Gauntlet? I have one-shot every fight up to this point and am going on my 10th try for this one.
My problem is that I keep running out of time. I’ve tried SB/ S-D, LB/ S-D, GS/ S-D, and LB/SB (I like the sword and dagger combo for the dodges). I can’t seem to get chomper anywhere near death before time runs out and if I kill Strugar then I run out of time trying to kill Chomper.
Any advice?
Oh I agree the arena does sound awsome. But it’s temporary. Why?
Every good piece of content gets removed. Why?
I can see no good reason as to why any of this stuff is temporary, I don’t care that it’s instanced, I don’t care it might be “too hard”, what I care about is that after 4 weeks it will be gone and I can’t even think of one bad reason as to why.
I think it is part of the strategy to keep things feeling fresh. The fact that you look back fondly on previous events shows that their strategy is working. Part of executing this living story content properly is taking it away just as it begins to lose its appeal to the majority of players. This keeps it from becoming stale.
If Anet were to leave these in longer, many of these posts would be “Why is the bazaar of the four winds still here?! I’m so sick of sanctum sprint!” This would defeat the fun in it and leave a sour taste in the players mouths. That is just how I view it anyway.
The GW2 world seems to be going into a more mechanical/steampunk look based on recent living stories. Like sky pirates, sky merchants, and soon watchwork tech.
And this makes me incredibly happy.
I agree. Steampunk fits rather well in Tyria.
How does steampunk fit with a high fantasy setting? Because they had to force feed it to us from the start because they created these dragons which were described as unstoppable creatures?
The Asura made warpgates and whatnot… why is steampunk a stretch? Seems to me kind of like another race’s attempt at technological progression. Considering the patch, it is likely human.
I posted something in a similar thread:
I believe that these arenas are going to be fun in a new way that I haven’t seen before in an MMO. While there is a queue it looks like it is going to be relatively short, meaning 1-2 minutes all considered. During this time you get to watch other people attempt what you are about to. You can learn from their strategies, whether they be poor ones or great ones. Now for a bit of a rant.
This thread is the first to actually provoke a reply out of me. When I first started playing this game I thought that this game had a great community… up until I made the mistake of reading these forums. Many of those who replied above are complaining about something they have not yet even seen, have no concept of how this will function upon release, and have not put near as much thought into it as the developers have.
The majority of these posts are all hate for the developers who work hard to bring us what I believe is a really great game. If you consider the money-to-playtime factor, this game is one of the best. $60 has kept me entertained for months now. So my advice to you all is to chill the f*** out and enjoy. Guild Wars 2 is not a way of life and you should not treat it so. If it stresses you out this much when new releases are not exactly to your specifications, then you need to see a psychiatrist or someone of a similar profession.
End rant.

Bigbranch Indapants – 6/10 Made me chuckle though.
Mine is a female ranger named Cazadora Paz, loosely translating to “Peace Huntress” from Spanish. Note the ‘z’ sounds more like ‘s’.
