why people say there's no endgame

Is end-game supposed to be some sort of an enlightenment state to be looking forward to? Sort of like Diablo II where you got all the top rune words and hit 99, that’s boring because what else is there to do. You either start over with a different character or roam around killing stuff that yield no further better rewards. I’m glad there is continually new contents, new class of equipment to seek out.

end-game:
A state of the game where a player is effectively invulnerable and can gank low level players (see “n00b”) with impunity.

That’s what end game means in pretty much any mmo out there. Thank the 6 GW2 doesn’t have that.

Farmers: what should be done.

Yeah. make gold account bound. Yeah. so then it has no purpose and has no point. facilitating sweet kitten all. As brain damaged an idea as I’ve ever seen.

You would actually still earn gold and use that gold in order to buy the items you need. It wouldn’t become useless at all, please read the whole thread and reflect on the idea I present, before answerring.

uh, no. As selling those things is done with gold as the reward, and gold would be account bound, you could never sell anything to other players.
The inter-player market would become impossible, the only reason to have gold will be to pay for repairs, teleports, and npc items.

And gold would just be replaced with something else as the currency for inter-player transactions.
It’d change to say crafting materials, the rarer the more valuable.
And all that would do is remove one level of abstraction for the farmers, who’d become far more aggressive and start preventing other players from killing things in order to prevent them having access to drops, drops that could include those rare materials.

And before you shout that that’d never happen, it happens in every single mmo where there’s a farmable rare commodity that has value in trade between players.

Empty zones

Seeing the way things currently work, people rush through their race’s start zone until they reach lvl20 or so, then go to Kessex Hills, and do tower of nightmare events until 80, then it’s off to queensdale and farm champions until they get bored of the game and quit.

Most other zones (and I like exploring so come in a lot of places) are mostly empty.

It’s an inevitable consequence of having easily farmable world bosses with short respawn intervals all concentrated nicely together that still provide anyone even at max level with stuff that’s useful to them.

And there’s really no way around it, except either close the low level zones to high level toons (not a good idea imo), make drops level appropriate for the zone rather than the toon getting the drop (would have the lvl80s farming champs in Queensdale scream bloody murder because the lvl10s in the group get the same stuff they do and it’s actually useful for them), or provide the same amount and ease of farming in all zones (which might, but far from guaranteed, spread people out a bit).
Ensuring that farming champs or other mobs in zones below your actual level gives no exp might help as well, as right now that’s the way most people level.
