Balance Patch Frequency is Unacceptable

We got a balancement patch ONLY ONE MONTH AGO. Why are you complaining? Do you have any idea how much time it takes? The tremendous amounts of analysis, discussion, re-analysis, coding, testing and finally QA? The QA alone can take 2 weeks if things go smoothly.

Not to mention that if there is intention to change how things work -completely- it’s useless to tinker with certain skills. Think of the recent Conditions changes, the new mastery system, what good would it have done to do any significant balance changes before these things came out?

Bottom line we are getting a balance patch nearly 1 to 2 months since conditions changes and mastery system. Now is not the time to start complaining.

Royal Guard Outfit

I really love the Royal Guard Outfit guys ! Good job ! I wanted to report some clipping that might have an easy solution, see attached photo.

If the armor was mirrored horizontally it would no longer clip in this situation. If the sash was on the other side, all weapons that are hung over the back would sit neatly beside it instead of strike through. Thoughts?

Not everything needs to be as flashy and obvious as a bright neon sign. Subtlety is important, too, and I find that it looks quite good, especially on some of the more multi-hit flurry skills. If there are some slash animations that don’t actually trigger the whip animation, then that’s a bug and something they should look into fixing.

For what it’s worth, my character was balanced around +50% Boon duration, not 100%. Though without the trait line offering boon duration, I will be brought down to +20%.

Unlike the class specific tools, I don’t think they would put 15% boon duration into the baseline of every single class.

Following their own logic, of how stats are being moved off traits and onto gear, it seems to me they need to update the giver’s the way they are updating the other armor sets and perhaps offer the ascended variety.

I am also really curious what ANET has planned for this. I have maxed Virtues on my guardian for the boon duration. I know there is a +20% boon duration trait when wielding staff in the plans, but I am hoping to not be forced to use a specific weapon to obtain something similar to what I used to have (which was +30% boon duratin for maxing virtues line, usable with any weapon).

I’m not looking for a perfect carbon copy, I don’t mind losing some boon duration and whatnot, and I really love the new trait system. Perhaps the missing link here is gear? I use cleric set. I could use giver’s but there is no ascended version of giver’s and the 1% per piece of gear is a bit too small.

I am not a commander myself, so perhaps my feedback on this idea isn’t worth much. Despite that I have to say this sounds REALLY cool and makes me want to get in on it and get started in WvW !! Very cool ideas.

Can you please add “look up” and “look down” key binds??

I use “look left” and “look right” already. They work GREAT !! Please add look up and look down key binds ! I play with a controller and really need look up and look down to properly setup right analog stick for camera movement.

Any news on being able to key bind “Look Up” and “Look Down” ?? We have look left and look right which works great, but really need look up and look down counterparts to climb mountains and roll down hills ! Please consider adding this feature with the camera update !! Thank you for reading !

Will we be able to keybind ‘camera pan – UP’ and ’ camera pan – DOWN’ ??

Right now we can bind keys to pan left and right in the setings via the “Turn Left” and “Turn Right” options. We are lacking the “Look Up” and “Look Down” counterparts. Please find it in your hearts to add this in with the rest of the camera features?

Thought I would just update this.

(Please note this does not mean that any of these things will happen, won’t happen, are planned to happen, and or not planned to happen)

  • First person camera
  • Increase max dolly (camera distance) distance
  • Decrease min dolly distance
  • More finite dolly control
  • Automatic camera height adjustment on /sleep emote
  • Manual camera height adjustment
  • Stop ‘random snapping’ from happening
  • Look at camera
  • Free orientation movement
  • Fix automatic camera height so that the over the shoulder camera works as it would be expected to work
  • Manual FoV adjustment
  • Look acceleration toggle
  • Keep drawing mouse cursor when right clicking toggle
  • Keybind toggle for holding right mouse down / click once to toggle option
  • Transition smoothing when spectating in PvP

FOR THE LAG:

Devs, please allow the instruments to play their notes LOCALLY, this would allow us to hear the notes being played immediately and not be off by a whole second, making it impossible to play. If the notes play locally, client side, on our own machine, there should be no delay.

I would also add that the resulting sound that gets created and played in game should NOT be audible to the person playing the instrument, so they do not hear two copies of the note.

The lag on the notes is the only thing keeping me from playing and enjoying my instruments ! (I have the flute and the lute)

That isn’t a bad idea.

However this would make things more difficult for guilds and groups that are dedicated to playing together if everyone hears their notes accurately but everyone else is lagged. At least when everyone lags the individuals can compensate.

But again….it’s not a bad idea. Especially for solo play. Even more so if it can be toggled on and off.

You do make an excellent point Erylian, thank you ! I do wish for a solution that can benefit group play as well. I still hope they take the localized play idea for solo players.

Hey guys, very glad to see Dev responses about camera improvements.

Can we please have ‘camera pan up’ and ‘camera pan down’ as mappable keys?

I play with a controller, no macros, and have everything I need mapped out on it. I use combinations like shift, alt and ctrl on my shoulder buttons to achieve all the attacks and movements needed to play GW2 fully. Using my right analog stick, I can pan the camera left and right thanks to you guys graciously providing left and right panning as mappable keys. However I cannot pan up or down without clicking on the mouse, making movement over and down hills frustrating.
