I’d rather like some dungeons buffed…
CoF for example is too easy – 15 minutes per run. Compared to that the easiest CoE still takes about 40 minutes. And the reward is exactly the same.
If not tuning the difficulty – i’d like at least see the reward adjusted to the average time requirement for each path.
Play on a high pop server → hardest part about 100% completion is the WvW Queue
Play on a low pop server → near impossible to get 100% completion.
Usually no pvp bases combined with no chance of getting 100% completion… Not really much incentive for people to transfer to low population servers.
If you haven’t explored the WvW
You don’t have to explore the maps… the whole thing is visible from the beginning.
The only solution is a population cap – a stat boost will not help against a CC fest.
You CAN queue for multiple maps at the same time, try queueing for Eternal and then also queue for a borderlands, if you get instantly into borderlands the eternal queue will pop up later. Clear proof that you can queue for more than a map with no issue.
Just that you didn’t even queue for the Borderlands… That’s why you do not kicked out of your previous queue.
Have fun seeing your daytime effort go waste during night…
Just lost every defense upgrade spent in EBGs due to being undermanned.
This is what happens when your server has a horrible over night force.

Hopefully this changes for ET come the week long battles.
Week long battles won’t change the night force…
I’m currently watching the scores at my server, it’s ridiciolous. We’re even undermanned in EBG.
We had all bases on our side (red) at least 2nd tier upgraded with defenses/personal and armed, but it just doesn’t work once you’re undermanned. Pretty sad to see all the effort you spend preparing your bases for the night going away…
Upgrading is only worth it if you have people on who can use the upgrades.
Well, i expect the outcry to get bigger later in the week, when people will notice that nothing changed.
Nope.
But once thing is for sure. It will happen when you go to toilet or have to open the door…
Nope. It’s only possible to queue for one map.
If you queue for another map while already in queue, the latest selection will count.
If you can enter a different map directly without a queue, you will still be in queue for the other map.
It’s bugged and won’t work until a server patch/restart.
Here’s my Cursed Shore thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/events/Cursed-Shore-I-m-personally-hugely-disappointed/
Male Asura (and this will most likely also affect female asura as well):
For Pistols : Most of them clip into any leather coat when stored. Too long of a list to name them all, but few examples: Emblazoned Leather Coat, Rascal Coats, Prowler Coat + Carrion Destroyer Pistol, Whisperer’s Secret Pistol, etc.
For Rifles: Any XXL rifle clips into ground, regardless of stored or active. Examples are: Charrzooka, Spectral Wave Modulator, Azure Railgun (this might also include the legendary Rifle The Predator.)
Both of those problem seems rather hard to fix to me:
- Rifles would turn into miniature models for Asura only. (They do not clip on other races because of their body size)
- Pistols can’t be rescaled, nor can they be realligned without making them float into the air.
What i noticed is that right after a match reset our side had a 1-2 minute queue.
When we were able to enter – we had no single person at SM, let alone somebody even reach our overlook, while the enemy team were already sieging the SM gates.
1. No.
2. Yes – The walls and gates are there for a reason.
3. Yes – If you are shooting the gate with a catapult – even if it’s yours – the first thing that should be damage is the gate, not something behind it. That much of RL physics should at least be used here.
4. No
5. No
Move to a low pop server instead of staying on HoD?
There are only 200 slots per map, what you’re suggesting is reserving 20%+ of those slots for set members?
Vizunah Square [FR] and Far Shiverpeaks, it's just not a fair game.

looks that the problem is yours, not vizunah’s
Right… Server Transfer is the answer to everything…
Guess what? Even on low pop servers you will have the mindless PvE Zerg crowed in WvW. It’s impossible to control.
It’s different for Vizunah, because from the beginning all WvW oriented players went there.
Also, the problem is Vizunahs alone, and nobody elses. You will have no WvW games in the end, not the other servers.

The simple and most reasonable solution is to throw all tier 1 servers into the same bracket so that any server that has a night time presence also faces servers that have night time presences.
There are only two tier 1 servers…
HoD and Vizunah.

they have better WvW guilds and more organisation.
a) They don’t have better guilds, they just have a lot more.
b) They have more organization, because it’s easier to organize people with interest in WvW than PvE oriented players playing WvW.
Vizunah wins because there is no other server with such a high WvW-interest.
That’s the same if you let an amateur soccer/football team play soccer against chess players… It’s pretty obvious who will win.

French are the best european players, just deal with it.
You’re winning because your server is the only one where the majority is WvW-oriented, while every other has a PvE Focus.
It’s simple impossible to organize something on the scale of Vizunah if you have the PvE focused people in WvW.
So no. You are not the best. You just don’t have any handicap.
Since two days both of those temple are inaccessible.
Temple of Verdance:
- This can be attributed to the “Escort Magister Izzmek” being bugged. Izzmek (once again) is stuck. (as many other escorts).
Cathedral of Silence (Temple of Grenth):
- There are more then just one bugged thing here
- The defend event for the canon often bugs at wave 7 (and doesn’t reset)
- Sometimes the event at Death’s Graze is skipped
- Currently Keeper Jonez Deadrun is stuck at Death’s Graze (the event at DEath’s Graze didn’t even get started)
I’d suggest to do daily server restarts as a measure until those events are 100% fixed.

Just be aware that the vast majority our players & guilds are oriented WvW.
And that’s the reason why no one can win against you.
No other EU-server is so much WvW centered as Vizunah.
Try organizing something on a server where many people in WvW are PvE crowd looking to have fun. They follow the zerg – and do nothing else.
Try defending during night time – you do not have your PvE people online.
No side will benefit from that in the longrun.
Vizunah will have no enemies to play against
Vizunah’s enemies will not even enter WvW.
We could say: You digged your own WvW-grave by all playing on one single server.
Imo Anet should have classified servers as “PvE-centered” and “PvP/WvW-centered”. That might’ve at least given some easier times in WvW.
Dear Mike, when you write Friday, what time exactly do you refer to ? Is it the same time globally or each America & Europe are different?
US resets during primetime, while EU resets one day ahead in the night.
So by friday it’s most likely US primetime which would make it saturday at 1:00 in the night for us.
we’re hoping the 1 week matches will make people feel a little better about investing significant resources into their holdings.
None of the upgrades protects a hold against the overnight zerg…
As long as the zerg exists, nobody will upgrade.
The biggest issue with Orbs are night hours…
The undermanned side get’s XP, Karma and MF buffs…
The full side has the orbs and get’s 50-150 stats and extra hp…
One buff is useless, the other isn’t.
Cursed Shore on Gandara is lagging… Zone Chat, Skill execution etc, while my Guildchat does work normal.
Engineer Kits:
- Instead of a weapon swap button Engineers do only have drop bundle button
- When equipping a bundle, the quickslot used for it changes into a “stow X kit” button.
- This makes the drop bundle button on the ^-key kind of pointless
So my suggestion is:
- Instead of a stow X kit button, replace the equip kit skill with another on use skill when the kit is equipped.
Defend event juggling between Penitent, Shelter’s Gate and Jofast Waypoint.
The temple events are generally bad. It’s better to lose them then defending them, since if you lose them, they reset and you get another simple chain with a chest at the end. Which you don’t do when you defend it.
There was ten undergeared players including me that wanted to go into the Arah Dungeon. We all banded together and had a warzone in front of the Arah Dungeon. We finally made it to the end but found out that it was locked because of a bug. Still I was satisfied with this warzone experience.
Did you even read what i wrote about this chain?
It’s cleared early in the morning – and does not reset until a server restart. Once it’s cleared, the fun part is gone. What’s left is to defend your waypoints against the same (not even attacking) enemies.
Do you know how many (new) people enter the zone each day and ask “any events?” on which nobody answers?
I had amazing adventures in Cursed Shores, I went into the Labyrinth and I met two people.
I also went in the labyrinth… met a bugged skillpoint, but found a lovely tree at the end which i decided to cut, on which a champion-group event triggered.
In fact, I think the rewards of Dynamic Events are terrible. You are better off killing every Risen in your path for tons of blue gear.
There is no difference in loot between the dynamic events and the mobs on the path. The real difference is:
- Dynamic Events spawn way more mobs than you encounter solo
- Dynamic Event mobs die way faster due to the player number present (this is good and bad – if you’re lacking any good instant AoE spell to tag the mobs, you won’t get loot and xp)
people seem to think that grinding lvl 80 DE’s is the way to go
I’ve actually be trying to get a group for CoE explorer mode for severeal days…
… but nobody enters – why? All guardians and Warriors want their greatsword-legendary. For that they have to go AC(which is the easiest EM), followed by Twilight Arbor for Onyx Lodestones.
CoE on the other hand is already very hard in SM, and the EM is no different. Add in the bad distribution for the Legendary Weapon Tokens (as in – the most wanted legendary is obtained doing the easiest instance)
- Group boss events need more love: as in getting people to do them.
People don’t do them because:
- They take a long time to kill for no additional reward
- They don’t have any special abilities. Combining that with a huge HP bar and you end up with a very boring fight that takes a very long time.
For example there is a boss right next to the entry camp in cursed shore, and you can’t miss it
That guy bugs out so often that at least on my server we started to ignore him.
And to comment on the defend event – and what makes them extremely broken:
For Shelter’s Gate and Jofast Waypoint – the mobs run on their preset path. Before they even bother attacking players, they have to reach a checkpoint at the camp. Yet they are killed by the zerg even before reaching that point.
For Penitent – At least here the mobs have invulerability until they reach the camp, but the preloaded AoE kills them instantly. Yet here the most people die, thanks to the killer Risen-Chickens.

This zone is fun.
Many arguments you bring on “why this zone is fun”…
While i explained why this zone is not fun.
The whole zone imo is a huge disappointment in terms of dynamic events.
When you first enter the zone (that’s to be taken literally – as you’re the first player there), you have a steady progression with events through the zone…
… but once those events are done, the zone becomes horribly boring.
The zone has three big event chains:
1) Unlocking Arah Entrance
2) Unlocking Temple of Grenth
3) Unlocking Temple of Melandu
And here is the big flaw – Those three big chains are replaced by single “defend waypoint X”-events. That’s it. Further those events are on a very low respawn timer.
For the Arah-chain: People want the entrance to stay open, so the biggest chain is replaced by simple defend events on each waypoint. Guess what all people are doing in the zone? Jumping between Jofast, Penitent and Shelter’s Gate for the defend events.
For the Temples: Well, while there are defend events, they have no reward. Don’t defend them, let the chain reset for the chest.
Waypoints? Temple of Grenth it so off-road, that the waypoint there is pointless. Temple of Melandu is in the middle of five Waypoints, making that waypoint completely unneeded. Don’t defend here, let the priests retake.
Then there is the southern area around the ship – while there are a few events going on down there, there is no single waypoint in this region. The travel time is too long to even get there.
Then there are some champion events – If you’re wasting time on them, you’re doing it wrong. Champions do not give any additional rewards, you just stand there and afk shoot on them for 5 to 10 minutes because the only “dangerous” thing about them is their HP bar.
On Gandara the Penitent is currently bugged and doesn’t trigger the defend event at all.
For loots – You’re probably noticing the anti-farm debuff (which is a stupid mechanic combined with dynamic events)
My inbox has 9/10, yet i can not receive a 10th mail, unless i delete any of the 9 present mails.
I’m offline now, but I seem to recall there is an option in the video settings regarding animations. Look it up and see if that helps you.
That option is nor for spell effects.
I would welcome an option to tune them down.
@People saying it’s fine: No. It isn’t.
1) There are only very few farm spots for the level 80 materials. Most of the are in Cursed Shore.
2) Cursed Shore is the only level 80 zone. Further on a capable server, you only have mass monster-killing events in a single spot on a low reset timer. So by participating in Events, you’re automatically triggering the anti-loot measure. Doesn’t seem right to me.
3) Changing Areas doesn’t remove the drop nerf. I went with no loot from Orr to Frostgorge. Didn’t get any loots for the next 30 minutes.
A anti-drop mechanic doesn’t work with the dynamic Event design present in Orr. It’s as simple as that.
The mechanic might have worked in GW1, but it does not work with the (disappointing) dynamic events in the Orr-Zones (as the big chains are replaced by stupid and boring defend-your-waypoint events).
Not me, I farmed harpies for blood for a couple hours with no change in drop rate.
The difference is, harpies are single pulls. Defend events usually are 10-20 waves from 15-20 mobs, and that in 5 minutes.
I’ll explain the problem with cursed shore:
After you cleared the main event (opening arah) and both temples, the zone is reduced to either
1) Kill champions – this isn’t worth it. No additional rewards, but due to insane hp take ages.
2) Do the defend events.
Would Arena net have replaced the main chains with fun events, and not mass mob spawn def events, it might be different. But they decided for a very boring replacement for those chains.
@Snake: If there was one in GW, then i’d say we might have one here too.
Some guild mates and i noticed while farming Cursed Shore defending events, that after about 4 of those events our item drops go to a very very low amount.
So my question is:
Anybody else noticed their droprate going down over time?
Bought 5 Glob of Ectoplasm today at 14:35-14:40 (CEST) for ~1g, lost the gold, but the globs neither showed up on items bought nor on the item gained tab.
