I don’t mind fighting larger numbers. Who cares about ppt? I got a fraps tonight of os wiping 30+ cd and in the middle, dh tried to sandwich us. You can’t get those type of outnumbered fights in your bl fighting balanced servers. Thank anet for the rng!

While the coverage disparity in terms of PPT is a bit annoying for some (discourages some NSP players etc), I honestly love that this matchup provides a constant source of fights. Lots of good throng surfing to be had.

After spending most of our days in T1 on Jade Quarry we are looking to get out of the full que Zerg mentality which plagues each server here.

What We Offer:

-We do Weekly GvG’s and are currently ranked in top 10 on gw2gvg.com even after a long break of not increasing rating due to us looking for new server.
-Able to field 20 People regularly on our WvW nights and normally field 25.
-We have a roster of 53 active players who log on every day. 100% WvW based and always have a 20-25 people present during NA time together in our guild group.
-We focus on Zerg Breaking and open field Tactics. While we do spend 1 day out of the week to GvG for a few hours.
-We work and communicate with the commanders on the server and individual Borderlands to help achieve common goals and to provide pressure where it is needed.

What we are looking for:

-A Tier which offers a fairly balanced weekly score. So it is not a train wreck each week for the same server.
-A Tier which does not field Full Que Zergs on Multiple Borderlands through out the week.
-We would prefer an underdog Server on a Balanced tier to help make it more Fair and Balanced. Not looking for the weekly winner.

Your needs just described NSP perfectly. We really need help with borderland coverage, and can only queue 1 borderland on reset. Outside of that we don’t queue any of our borderlands. We normally have a very close matchups, but when were fighting servers that outnumber us, we still tend to do pretty well. We may not be the weekly winner but with the new ranking system we were able to from rank 21 to rank 16 in a very short amount of time because we fight hard and defy the odds.

Send me a whisper or a PM here and I would be happy to set up a meeting with you and a few of our commanders that would be able to give you more info and give you a idea of what NSP is about.

The impact of a strong 25 man Guild would be tremendous. As stated above, NSP is a resilient, solid server; it simply needs a bit more coverage to really see its full potential.

I HATED WvW for the apparent redundancy of Zerg v Zerg disorganized gameplay until I joined my guild, Os. This is GUILD wars after all, right?

It’s important to note that this isn’t to say Zerg fights don’t tend to unfold in a number of similar ways, though.

Server A has a 60 man blob, no voice comms, one commander that some people stay near, people firing whatever skill they can whenever it comes off cooldown.

Serber B has a 30 man blob, all of them on the same teamspeak channel, two commanders, melee players following one commander and ranged following another, stays closely bunched, keeps up stability & vigour, makes proper use of boon removal, whirl finishers through light fields when pushing through, regularly pulls to the side to heal, buffs before pushing again, and so on.

Server B will win every single encounter.

I’ve been in fights where we’ve beaten bigger numbers because everyone on our side knew what they were doing; I’ve been in fights where we’ve been wiped by a smaller group because there was little or no organisation (or simply because the enemy were so good at what they do – RG still give me nightmares). The amount of people involved matters, but it’s only a deciding factor when both groups’ organisation (or lack thereof) is the same.

So true! I’ve encountered this scenario so many times with my guild. Sometimes the odds will be as crazy as 1 of us to 4 enemy players.

It really depends.
You don’t have to necessarily chose between one set or the other. For example, I do mostly PVT as a Guardian, but a few of my pieces are berserker’s.

The way I look at it: soaking up damage is great and all, but you’re holding yourself back from being effective if you can’t do much damage to help down other players.

But then again, this all depends on the build, profession, group size, server, tier, etc etc etc.

I’ve been running the Healway build for a while now, but I’m starting to question its effectiveness in Tier 7 combat and zerg fights (ie, I realize I tend to stay alive, but I don’t know if I’m making much of an impact in the ZvZ fights that seem to be crucial in this Tier)
I’ve also noticed the majority of the Guardians I play with running PVT/AH based setups.

Before I spend more of my laurels on more ascended Cleric’s gear, I want to know:
What build alternatives should I consider for Tier 7 WvW?

Hello!

I’m in a bit of a bind trying to choose what to spend my laurels on.
Currently, I run the “Healway” build, and am in full clerics armor/weapons, and Soldiers exo trinkets. I almost exclusively do WvW, too.

What do you all think for ascended gear choices?
I’m torn between going all clerics, and having a mix of clerics/soldiers ascended pieces.
