Artifact Collections or... SHINIES!!

lol even though this post is old, it’s now renewed and I think that something like this would be kind of cool. Collections of some sorts to find and have people engage in once they finish an area they can come back and do more exploring for the artifacts or treasures and get rewarded for completing a set.

EQ2 has this and Rift as well and its an addicting thing to a lot of people. I’m not a huge artifact hunter but I definitely don’t pass them up when I see them.

To Raid or Not to Raid

I’m not a level 80 yet so I really don’t know what is offered at level 80 at this point. I’m not sure what “The Lost Shores” brought to the table…but…in terms of raiding…why not offer a new super uber level map where trash mobs are very hard and every world boss is of legendary stature or an even higher level with more mechanics. Would need to have tons of players working together in an organized manner in this map that will still have the same type of dynamic event systems going on?

But, really difficult to pull off similar to a raid but not static and the same thing each time, but yet still in the open world that anyone can go to and isn’t limited to having a group of 20 to enter. Think, Rift Zone events at raid level difficulty but it is constant in this said map.

I think this pulls off the right kind of end game content that would fit in nicely with Guild Wars 2 and the way the questing works.

Wanted: Option to mute the character's voice

I do agree with this lol…the option to mute your characters voice. Like in WoW…omg…everytime you click a spell thats not ready…“That’s not ready yet”, “I CAN’T CAST THAT YET!”, etc. you can turn off which is fantastic…

It does get kind of annoying hearing the overacting voice when something is going downhill…or when you buff to run faster or get a buff for strength.

I think that it would be cool to be able to learn a skill to do the taming that you can find mountable creatures in the world instead of having to just buy a mount from a vendor or the Black Lion Trading Post with gems, similar to the ranger who can tame the juvenile creatures for pets.

It could be a manual like the traits you have to purchase for “X” amount of gold, at certain levels, that have a cap on the level of creature you can tame, and a maybe like a Master Manual to only be able to tame the rare mountable creatures. Would think the manuals would be a steep price, for a one time use to tame one mountable creature in the world. There could be ones that are only found in “secret” areas of the world or in dungeons that are very rare and others that are common place in the regular maps.

Some mounts could have more speed than others as well. Say a Dolyak may only have a 25% increase but a Moa could have a 50% increase.

Player Housing

Yea there are tons of buildings out there, even if they are instanced its fine. I don’t care to see player housing scattered everywhere along the countryside because that just wouldn’t work right with the way events work and whatnot.

The ability to buy or even rent a piece of property like in EQ2 would be awesome. I know that there are people out there who don’t want player housing or don’t care about it, but I don’t see why you wouldn’t want MORE features added to an MMO?

I don’t feel that this feature is a MUST HAVE thing right away but as soon as possible would be great. I personally love the aspects of player housing and I know its a very sought after feature in pretty much every MMO out there.

I love Rift’s housing with the huge amount of items already in the game to put into your dimension and the amount of customization is incredible.

So, I propose Player Housing and Guild Housing sometime in the not so distant future!

Okay I am still a bit of a noob to the Trading Post in this game but, when I sell something and I go to get my money from the Trading Post, its just the money, no description of what actually sold.

I would like to see something in the mail or within the Trading Post letting you know which of your items sold.

If there is a way to find this out already please enlighten me!

Yea I don’t see how riding a horse goes against the lore of anything? I don’t want flying dragons and whatnot…its a mount…it does nothing other that let you get to places faster…how is that a bad thing?

Yea it would go great with the cooking crafting, so really no need to even add another crafting spec. Fishing is just something that is fun to do when you have down time.

They need to add contestable waypoints in WvW then…I hate dying and having to freakin run back to the main post everytime. It makes me not play WvW…and I LOVE the idea of it…it saddens me

I did a search on the forum for mounts but I didn’t really see many real suggestions for them, other than a couple that were sprinkled in another forum post.

So, I think mounts are a great idea. I feel like I’m cheating when I use waypoints all the time but when I need to get somewhere fast, its all I can do, no way I am running my toon across an entire map to get to an event at normal run speed.

I like the waypoint idea, but I also enjoy exploring the world and mounts just make sense being that the zones are just so massive. Don’t want flying mounts or any crap like that, just simple mounts that have like 75-100% run speed increase.

I see a lot of people saying they don’t want to see mounts implemented into the game but I don’t really understand why? I can see not having flying mounts, but a horse? Come on, that’s just a common mode of transportation in a world without cars!

Make it happen…

Please add actual FISHING to Guild Wars 2. So many awesome areas to sit down and do some fishing and add a survival type crafting spec.

That is all…

Improved Environment Interactions

I agree, you guys made such a massive detailed world…lets add some spice to it now with some interactive stuff to do. I would love to be able to go into a tavern and spend in game money and try to win for more money or even karma. Interactive chairs, beds, etc would be great too. I mean, World of Warcraft you can sit in chairs and on benches (not a fan of WoW btw…) but seriously, the game world is gorgeous and huge and diverse. I think adding some smaller things like this would be amazing!!

Like in Divinity’s Reach, there is some shooting game that some heckler tells you to go play, and you can’t even go play it. These are the things that need to be implemented for those times you don’t feel like doing events and whatnot.

More diverse and separate skill trees.

The current trait system really isn’t much different from what you see in other MMO’s. It ‘s just not split up into 30 different icons that you assign individual points to. Though, it would be nice to have more customization in this department other than just spamming points in the "Arms’ Trait bar. I mean you get to choose 1 of 5 options every once you get to the end of a tier, but it feels watered down. Maybe its just the way they chose to display it. I’m sure if they put the EXACT same trait system in place but in a tree manner…everybody would cheer, even though it is doing the exact same thing.

I think for me, it just feels so straight forward because I usually am playing Rift when I’m not on GW2 and the Soul trees and class building are so diverse in that game, when I come to GW2 and am assigning points I feel cheated lol even though I’m really not with having different skills w/ different weapons and changing up my utility slots and armor “buffs” based on what strategy I am going for. Fire AoE DPS, Fire ST DPS, Water AoE Healing, etc. for my elementalist.

The diversity is there, its just about changing your mindset on how it is presented to you in GW2.

I hope this made sense…lol

Asura Gates need their names on the Mini-Map

AGREED!! 100% PLEASE!! At least a mouseover tooltip showing where the gate takes you on the map and minimap. I have done this numerous times, running to the wrong gate only to see its the wrong one lol and then have to run all the way to the correct one.

More clothing options, more freedom.

Yea I would like to see more clothing options myself and weapon skins. Every staff I’ve gotten since lvl 2 to now a lvl 35 have looked EXACTLY the same other than one I got from doing a story quest. I went as far as going to the Trading Post and just buying a different looking staff that wasn’t for my level and Transmuting it for the appearance so I didn’t have to see that dull wood staff with a yellow-green core at the top.

Definitely would like to see more variety of armor and weapons skins!! I don’t mind transmuting things, but looking pretty much exactly the same for 30+ levels is a bit lame.

My P2P MMO, Rift, had this issue at the beginning of their release as well, but, has definitely stepped it up a ton with the types of armors and weapon skins and I hope that GW2 does the same!
