I always wait for meaningful discussion in the WvW thread and when I see this (beaten to death) thread topic I cringe. What’s with people not wanting a challenge or worst yet, not understanding that something is supposed to be a challenge? Why do so many people want things handed to them?
As you learned to do the jumping puzzle, you must learn to defeat a worthy opponent. They’re guarding your loot, how badly do you want it? That’s part of the dynamic and unique elements of Obsidian Sanctum. It would be sad day to see the OS be changed due to complaints like this, especially when there are dozens of jumping puzzles that don’t require pvp. Not to mention that the OS does not give exclusive rewards, it gives the same ol greens and blues you get from any other JP and badges rain from the sky in EOTM and achievement chests.
i made this just for you
Had to login to upvote you and tell you how hilarious and perfect that is
nevilledevil,
appreciate what you’re trying to do here, but two other whole servers are dedicated to stopping you from doing what you want to do in this zone.
you will get spawncamped by thieves.
you will get killed in the JP,
you will have a bad time if you are only coming to do one thing and get the achievements because none of the WvW players will want to help you to do that, because they’re trying to WIN the tournament, not just get the meta completed. You don’t win anything by camping the JP. You don’t earn your server anything by camping the JP. WvW players don’t go to the JP, they are too busy WvWing.
We do win things. Loot bags and a good laugh
I earn way more bags and laughs raiding with my guild on the BL and actually contribute something to my server while doing it. JP camping is for trolls.
Good for you. It’s a matter of personal opinion. You enjoy raiding and I enjoy pushing people off the cliffs of the jp.

Obsidian Sanctum is under the WvW category and is a PvP zone. This topic gets repeated over and over again. There is no etiquette. Kill or be killed. We camped the top of the JP for a good hour last night before the other server rallied up a group and took us down. Good stuff.

I would say just hold on to them for a little bit longer. My guildies and I speculated that they could possibly end up being used in the next Zephyr Sanctum. (=
I’m extremely happy they changed how ascended items are rewarded. I remember on reddit there was a recent post about a guild tracking their lvl 50 droprates and there was a general agreement/similarities in the responses. I’ll definitely have to start running the lower tiers again to see the new difference.
Now what to do with all the boxes of ascended chests with crappy stats…
Just a few small tips and from my own experience:
Spread out. In my opinion and experience, the people that die the most are those that around. It’s a lot better to just walk around or maneuver around the circles with swiftness.
Energy. Energy sigils are extremely helpful. Save your energy and dodges for when you absolutely cannot move out of a group of circles.
Invisi. Going invis is nice, the only problem is that if not everyone is invisible, most of the circles target those who are visible. Which usually isn’t an issue if they can invuln or dodge through most of it. In terms of mass invising everyone, I’ve only done it a few times, but Mai Trin only resets her health and you still only need to DPS her to 75%, 50%, 25% once. (e.g., You mass invis at the 25% mark, she regens full health, then when the aoes are over, you just dps her down to 0)
In terms of experience with pugs, everyone has their good and bad share. I’ve never experienced bad pugs at higher levels (40+), at that point people usually know what to do. The worst experience I’ve had is pugging with 20s or below. In terms of the fractal leader leaving or being kicked, the best thing you can do is open the fractal and start your own party, or at the very least get a partner or friend who can do so.
I picked human for the armors but I would so go Asuran, they’re so dang cute as elementalists.
This is my elementalist
Thinking about changing the gold to match Light of Dwayna better as the gold appears a bit to orangey. Absolutely in love !
Please do not rework the armor ! I already bought a set and am planning to mix with my Human T3 on my next ascended set ^ ^
I absolutely love the new armor set, I mixed it with the female light Human T3 and I think it looks amazing. I will post pictures as soon as I get off of work.
I do think you should allow people to dye the blue portion of the armor. I personally don’t mind it and like the color, but it definitely limits a lot of what others can do with the set. That being said I really like the starfield, so pretty o

Can someone please explain to me this new auto-kick feature? I skimmed through the patch notes and forums and couldn’t find anything about it. Every time some one goes afk or logs out for five minutes in our party, the game just kicks them from the party. No one in our party is kicking them and there is no pop-up asking or suggesting a kick. Is this a bug? Is this new? Please & thank you.
Quote 4: “Zero, for 5 nights in a row, would sacrifice a fully defended, mostly upgraded Stonemist to save a couple of paper towers. Other times, he would port into a borderland, drain a fully upgraded keep with full supply to 100-300, build golems, and fail to take anything.”
-I relied on scouts, sometimes misinformation occurred and I would educate the pugs when they made mistakes like that. Since I knew well that Maguuma would win each week I focused more on teaching the pugs how to fight in the open field. Regarding the golems, I dont really like to golem rush except on rare occasions, the situation you are referring to was Xushin asking me to do that and build suicidal golems so that I could create a diversion at red keep (it was a push intended to fail so that Xushin could push the northmost double gates).
Quote 5: “the apparent inability to instill any knowledge of tactics or discipline in the pubbies he commanded. Why you would want to command like Main EB Commander is beyond me.”
-I spent more time educating the pugs than anyone else ever did. None of you spend the time with them. The reason Tsarazi had a harder time last night was cause he didnt use an icon, his choice, but dont complain about it.. I educated every Eternal mumble player and i typed in chat until suppressed constantly, I also would have them all organize before we even started playing to show them the importance of coordination/organization.
Quote 6: “We’ll get competent commanders in EB teaching everyone proper siege placement, tactics, and discipline, and EB will actually become a map that the main WvW guilds are interested in defending.”
-Sure you will, I would love to see that, you had kitten in there all yesterday and yeah I really saw improvements… I bet Tsarazi didnt even have the Eternal mumble players go to kitten channel or alternatively I bet kitten didnt go up to Eternal mumble so that he could share his knowledge. Thats the problem with you guilds, you only engage with your players internally, me and Xushin were the only ones who would work with the pugs and get in public mumbles, Xushin more for karma train, me more for tactics and training.
Quote 7: “People avoid EB like the plague because it was usually filled with belligerent ignorance. More could be done by holding keeps in enemy BLs, so we went there.”
-Actually the most PPT is in Eternal so if youre so pro then youd focus EBG with at least one of the main guilds. Its not filled with ignorance either, it takes more cooperation, flexibility, and communication to work with new pugs who join the mumble and the mixture of guild-based players who go to Eternal mumble.
It doesn’t seem that you’ve been as eager to post on threads as you have been against your own former team mates. I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove to anyone in Maguuma but it’s clearly not working. I personally couldn’t care any more or less about the tactics you used but you’ve got a serious attitude problem. It’s fine that you can come in here and act as noble as you do but I hope you don’t treat Kaineng players like you did some Maguuma players. While I understand some kitten talking is part of the atmosphere, I can recount dozens of times on mumble where you talked kitten on your teammates/other commanders and acted like being an EB commander was an act of self sacrifice. I’ve scouted for you a few times but you never saw me harping on incessantly and publicly and bad mouthing everyone else over a job others didn’t want to do.
You can’t complain about how people choose to play in WvW. If you want to train a bunch of pubbies in EB, then go right ahead and do it.
I hope the next time (if) you leave a guild and a server, you do it more gracefully.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and call you a fake female gamer just like every other thread like this that the OP claims this. You know after years and years and years of female gamers trying to voice OTHERWISE. Not to mention how they are so happy to finally get noticed by so many gaming sites citing the problems such as this one within the gaming industry. It is so unlikely that after years of trying for everything else the movement would suddenly do a 180 and people like you would exist in mass.
Even more so when many races like the Norn and Human light armor is just pathetic and skimpy as well. Not to mention how tasteless many of the female order armors are when compared to the males. The Vigil male armor is great but the female armor for a group known for HEAVY IN YOUR FACE COMBAT makes no sense at all. Same really goes for scholars called the Priory. Those who take great pains to research the unknown and are know for shutting out the world TOTALLY WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THEIR HIPS AND MIDRIFF! The only space it is even is with the Whispers as both men and women were bondage garbage.
There is already to much skimpy garbage in this game. It is refreshing to at least have some choices in dungeon gear to get away from this crap for once in a MMORPG.
Oh.. and you could also be a troll as well but whatever.
I saw that no one replied to you so I will. There’s no reason to make personal attacks or claims against anyone on this thread. There is no such thing as a “fake female gamer” and each person can play this game however they desire within the limits of ANets rules and regulations. I hate to be the white knight but HOW someone chooses to play this game should be beyond this thread’s topic and isn’t necessary here.
But I agree to an extent with the latter of your post. That’s why we were discussing how nice some of armor in Guild Wars 1, it seemed to have a more realistic feel to it and it would be nice to see that introduced into this game. Not to mention that even though that armors covered a large amount of body up they were still pleasantly form fitting and nice to look at.
Something else I just thought of…A lot of the armor sets in Guild Wars 1 were very form fitting. I think a problem may not just come from the amount of skin showing but also how form fitting some of the armor sets are. I would also suggest that the armor doesn’t necessarily have to show skin but at least be form fitting to show that sexual appeal without offending anyone.
But if the issue is with wanting to show fur, tattoos, or sylvari glows then I’m not sure of a common ground for this. More nudediness I suppose?
@Blur
I think those are exceptional examples from Guild Wars 1. Shows just the right amount of skin and excellent detail as well. I do feel like some of the light armors look somewhat exaggerated, like being outrageous looking to be outrageous looking. I digress.
Anyways, my favorite medium set is the Norn Tier 3 Cultural, just the right amount of skin exposing while also providing great coverage and being so kitten cool looking. I don’t have much to room to speak in the coverage department since I make my Norn Ranger walk around in beachwear sometimes (pictured below). I’d suggest if you want some skimpiness in your medium armors, try mixing and matching for now. Sometimes on the sets with the skirts, the leggings will actually just be underwear of sorts.
I also wish for more variety in armor skins. I personally love the intricacies of different armor skins and I especially think the medium armor skins are lacking in variety. I am so sick of the trench coats!
As for the ‘skimpy’ armor skins for the light skins, I see what the issue is with previous posters but I don’t understand why it’s becoming such a huge issue. I don’t think what someone chooses to wear, in a fantasy mmo, should affect how you feel about them. This does not reflect how they are as a person or how effectively they can play. But if you choose not to play with them for those reasons then that choice is yours.
If one of you’re complaints is that they’re standing next to you in Lions Arch then I’m not even sure how to address this….
Can’t we all just agree that we want more armor skins across all the races, genders, and classes, skimpy and non-skimpy?
