Wasn’t this topic already discussed at length in a wardrobe feedback thread?
playable skritt race, mini skritts, skritt backpack, skritt finisher, skritt henchman summong stone, skritt ranger pet, skritt everything. MOAR SKRITT, YES?
Why can’t my male charrs have fluffywuffy tail too
instead of the paintbrush
in before a little ghost boy pops out of the ground and tells us the dragons are his solution to inevitable war between golems and organic life -.-
I suspect the most recent update had Anet switch off the drops for the knights, because of us zerging each knight respectively for 3 chances at cores. I seriously doubt they would admit to doing that, but I consider that incredibly likely.
Same here, killed red and got nothing on Gandara overflow.
commander charlotte for queen of gandara!
Excellent idea. Or perhaps even if there are less than say 4 or 5 people on a platform, spawn a Veteran instead of a Champion.
eep, better give her what she wants or it’s me she’ll kill!
/necromancy
dear anet, please let me make a skritt thief for wintersday because shiny!
Level cap increase = goodbye. I quit Runes of Magic because they kept pushing the cap ever so slightly higher, forever making you work your kitty off for new gear.
Personally, I’d rather see new maps, new story, new dungeons, new races, and new weapon options for existing classes rather than an arbitrary and pointless level cap increase. Part of what made GW1 so amazing for me was how it was always 20; you hit 20, then all of a sudden you have this rich, full, immense and exciting world to explore, where all of a sudden levels mean nothing and player skill means everything. So please Anet, I beg of you, don’t increase the level cap. Not now, not ever.
Wrong OP. You shouldn’t just show up to get loot. If there wasn’t a timer you couldn’t fail. Go back to candyland.
If you actually made an effort to read my post, that’s not at all what I asked for. Not even close.
Meaningful failure mechanics are not equal to “press 1 to win” as much as they are not equal to pointless, meaningless timers.
This one event is supposed to test organization and group communication. I’m not sure that’s possible without a timer. I don’t mind.
Yes, it’s possible without a timer. A timer is, quite simply, the laziest and most straightforward approach Anet could have taken to test these things. I’m reminded of their “slap a 1g bonus on all dungeon paths except AC and arah” approach to bonus dungeon chests.
Once again, I’ll defer this one to Lyssa. Frankly, her battle is how I feel world bosses should work. The main boss, 3 objectives to capture and hold; it requires co-ordination and there’s no clock necessary.
He’s late for his pedicure, so he can only stop a short while, that’s why. More of a fly by visit than an actual invasion.
I think the timer needs to be raised…. But to remove them completely is wrong… its like saying here you can keep failing but don’t worry you won’t truly ever fail… You can keep doing it and with time it will die… There is no risk of the server failing so yes up the times… But do not remove them, if your group can’t do them get better at how you play the game.
You miss my point. I am asking for timers to be removed in place of actual, meaningful failure mechanics, not just “uh oh time’s up byyyeeeeee”. How Lyssa works (although she just resets, doesn’t literally fail) is the most realistic example I can use right now to promote that. Why not, instead of a timer, have mini-events required inside the tequatl event to keep the fight going, just like the seals? Or we have to keep the turrets in good repair? There’s so much Anet could have done with a little creativity and care, but the arbitrary and pointless “slap a timer on it and call it a mechanic” solution was not a solution at all.
Long story short, I’m not at all happy with the timers and I’m not alone in this. They do not serve to make the game more interesting or challenging, and it’s not a new mechanic. I urge you to remember why you removed the “instant fail on npc death” mechanic from GW1 with the release of the EOTN, replacing it with the ability to allow us to revive them; because it simply wasn’t fun.
What’s fun about having an event fail simply because a certain amount of time has elapsed? All it does is add a sense of stress and urgency, and frankly that’s no reason to fail an event. Why not make failure an option tied into our actions; you already did this with the Lyssa temple, where we must hold seals to defeat her.
Thanks for reading, and here’s hoping these fail timers will be short lived.
I get the point about the lives being meaningless when reset to 5, but outright drop to 1 is beyond harsh. How about a happy compromise, right down the middle, and set lives to 3?
I imagine their debates are along the lines of “you give us shinies, yes yes?” and that’s about it.
A lone skritt has the same IQ as your average bowl of cereal! It’d make a fine pet. Besides I’d take good care of him, feed him well, offer him shinies for throwing bottles at centaurs.. we’d have a great time!
A good player needs first and foremost, a good attitude.
Couldn’t agree more. This is the attitude I play by and have done throughout my history with GW1 and GW2. I would take, as a rank 3-5, unranked players with me in teams in the Heroes’ Ascent. Through their ability to listen and learn, we were able to make it to halls multiple times, and many of those I took gained their rank 3 bambi under my command.
In GW2, I’m much the same way. I’ll take an average but friendly player any day of the week over an abusive, elitest “pro”.
Can my ranger have a pet skritt? Please? pretty please?!
assorted fanboys, please don’t turn this into another pathetic and pointless kiel vs. gnashblade. This is about our one true God, Lord Abbadon!
I would love to see a dungeon or living story based on the dark lord himself and frankly, #TeamAbbadon has my support!
Same here. My team and I were at the end of the ice fractal after having completed the krait and cliffside ones. We were approaching the boss, about 5-10 mins after the “3 hours to new build” message, when we were all kicked.
So now we have to restart the entire run, when we were mere minutes away from our maw.
Severely kitten ed off.
