Can’t get characters in or out of LA keeps crashing, repaired twice, 64-bit client. Only problem I have encountered since switching.

I really think it might be the bad power supply I mentioned. I think my system needs a more efficient, stable, power supply.
Game didn’t drop to low FPS when I was using either single 760 reference or dual 760 reference SLI. Same CPU as I have now. And now that I use a GTX 980 Ti Lightning GPU, the game still has no FPS issues. It makes me wonder if it is either a driver issue, either with DX9, Visual C++ Redistributable, GPU driver, or something else, or that the RAM and/or video card needs re-seating, or checking via memory testing. The problem is, it’s all a guessing game as to what could be causing the problem. It might even be that the game itself needs to be repaired. Make a shortcut of the EXE and then after the first address in properties, put this after, should look like this, but of course according to your install address: “C:\DATA\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe” -repair
Also, drivers up to date, C++ fine, Dx9 just reinstalled and same issues, reseated ram and gpu, and made sure cpu water block wasn’t on too tight or mother board shorting. The only thing I haven’t done is BIOS but I get prompted when it needs to.
Also have done the repair several times.

See now the only part of my system that is questionable is my power supply, which screams under load. It’s a Corsair GS600. I have gotten memory dump blue screens while running GTA V when it spikes cpu, gpu, and ram all at once. Could I need a better/bigger or more efficient power supply? Would the overclock of everything be needing that much more than stock?
Hey guys for this issue look up a thread I started called “Is Dx9 the Problem?” got a solid answer, game is optimized to max out only one core. This is so lower end computers can run it and not crash the OS with lack of cores for background process. No matter how beast the system, unless the entire game engine is overhauled nothing will change the chugging of fps drop on occasion.

For all of you complaining about “false flags”, they have said it happens rarely, and most people complaining about the bans/ suspends have been proven guilty. So keep that in mind. You are capable of saying/typing you are innocent without actually being innocent. Like they really falsely flag hundreds of accounts….. yeah right. People just not smart enough to know they can prove you actually kittened up. They made one of the biggest MMORPGs of all time, don’t think they aren’t smart enough to get evidence and proof.

It’s the game engine, no way of fixing that. It’s how it was designed by the developers. The fps limitation we all experience is due to how heavily reliant the game is on the main cpu thread.
So poor optimization for multicore systems. Thanks, I had just never seen an actual reason. That still doesn’t explain why all the cutscenes like new Lion’s Arch intro and Mordremoth’s Mouth are maybe 360p….. like what is the point of that. Even an Intel Atom 2600 can replay 1080p @ 30fps through HDMI port, and that’s weaker than anything since what the Core 2 and Athlon x2? Pretty sure no one is able to run gw2 on less than that.
I have 16gbs 1866mhz cl9 Corsair ram, i7 4790k @ 4.5ghz 1.225 core voltage, MSI GTX 970 1350mhz core clock 7.5ghz memory clock, and a Samsung 840 512gb SSD. And still struggles to keep 60 fps in the new expansion Heart of Thorns. Even with Nvidia’s Geforce Experience settings. I just don’t get it. (YES using 64-bit client mentioned below)
Temp for CPU 35-40C under full load (Seidon 240m), 970 never gets hotter than 55C. So no thermal throttling. I just don’t know anyone that has multiple setups to run it on to get an answer. GW2 isn’t even that graphically intense! Could it be solely because it’s a Dx9 game? I thought upgrading and spending $700 from my GTX 660 SC and Fx-8350 w/ only 8gb 1866 ram and normal hard drive would fix it. I still drop to 25fps avg at Maw, which is a strange event because around when the boss gets 50% health my fps rises every time guaranteed to 35-40fps until boss is over. I just don’t get it. The game isn’t even maxing out or stressing my system!
Cores I made sure are manually unparked, have priority of GW2.exe set to High and Affiniy set to 0-7(8 cores “4 physical and 4 virtual” just in case you read this and didn’t know). I am only running at 1080p as well. It would be awesome if I could get some dev feed back or find out if it is more server load lag than my computer. I can run around 95% of maps in game and be 60fps all day but if there are more than 10-15 players it starts getting grumpy. Also large events even behind walls or mountains that spawn entities make it jerk for a sec but all data shows only slight spike in usage of cpu, and ram like less than 2% increase for maybe half a second.
GW2 is the only game I can’t get constant fps at high-max settings. I really just hope it’s dx9 and poor multicore utilization. Yes this is with the 64-bit Client. Falling into Tarir and other fps dropping events smoothed out a great deal when I switched but there should still be no reason this system can’t handle that, unless the entire map is loaded and its partitioning resources for that but I doubt it. I don’t mean to sound like a snob this is just a legitimate question as to the actual reason even a beast system can’t max out and maintain minimum 60fps in Gw2.
I love this game and have for 9 years now and even if it only played at 20fps I would still play. Just looking for an answer while I’m bored at school waiting for my next class. :P

Really seems like DDoS. Patch happened an hour and a half ago and just got booted. I don’t think it was the patch.
Same problem, can’t log into any characters at all now.
I’m disappointed that there has been no communication about a problem this large immediately following a patch.
Unless they are scrambling to fix it and they have no idea what broke it.
Same, created a new character and finally got into the game (stuck at loading into map then network login error). Got to play on the created character and then was able to switch to another for all of five minutes then booted when I tried to map travel.
How is the game Flawed just cause some people manage to bot, or cheat, or exploit some things. You can try to make a perfect game, but people will always find ways to abuse that content, and exploit every thing possible.
Stop blaming the game, end the hate towards the game. Play the game don’t make war!

On a more serious note, i think that if a certain number of people report the same characters at the same time, with proof(screenshots, videos, explanations) ANET will take action. They may leave some bugs for weeks into the game(STILL WAITING FOR THAT CHALLANGE MOLE ARENA NET….ANY TIME YOU ARE READY) but they never agreed such things, gold sellers, botting, cheating…etc
Well, I may have come off as hating on Gw, but this game saved my life and helped me get through cancer without losing my mind(gw1). I know this isn’t a perfect game, as much as I want it to be. There has to be a better way of dealing with this trash polluting this awesome game. Not trying to start a “flame war”, just trying to figure out what we can do as a community to help keep this from happening. GW2 has one of the best communities in gaming, I know we can figure out some way to better and more efficiently remove bots and tabbers. What about all those new players that just recently joined after the last sale. Probably just getting to end game content. Then they try to do Sw and get fails because the content has been out so long its filling with bots and leechers. Unfortunately there are still people, like myself, that still try Sw and would like to get easy wins, as it should be because we know the tactics, and make money and get mats that way. Botting by harvesting trees and ore, that doesn’t effect game progress. Leeching, scaling, and afking especially in the sw is inhibiting game progress.
Could just be the “artistic” paintbrush stye of the map.
When you make content for people who are not worried about having fun, and instead want rewards as fast as possible and as easily as possible – aka “grind”, aka basically what Silverwastes is all about – you will get those who exploit it to get what they want without having to endure the content.
It’s a game flaw more than the guild’s flaw. If ArenaNet didn’t want people to do this kind of thing, they could have made a map in which the focus isn’t to grind.
Yeah, just 3 Vw fails in a row, 3 hours wasted. Gets under your skin. I know it’s the games flaw, never blamed the guild, could be an innocent guild with 4-6 stolen accounts. the fact they were in a guild isn’t important, the fact they cause fails because of scaling and not helping is the frustrating part. Vw is soo easy, I mean the only time you lose is when you have 20+ afk tabbed out or botting. Also I am well aware most games Runescape, WoW, Gw1, Gw2, Maplestory, wtf ever game has botting and farming. It’s stupid and when it hinders completion of the game they should be removed.
I would advise removing the guild tag/name from your post, as naming and shaming isn’t allowed.

I have video proof of this alleged “botting” guild . We failed another Vine Wrath because these botters get around the system by spamming 1 just enough to stay active then afking. Obvious when I was watching and as I predicted they went into the boss at South died and stayed, got rezzed and went back on the cliff. (AFK cliff) at south. It’s just frustrating because they scale the events and often times cause a fail. Yet they still get rewards and they move just enough to not get kicked or not be obvious unless you pay attention. How can we prevent this? As a player, I cannot report them because they are active enough that it would flag me for false reporting. So I recorded a video. We need a call GM button or something where an admin can be there in 5 min or something and just watch. Everyone that saw them noticed it, they were 4 originally 6 but two disappeared after I said I was recording. They moved in a very painfully computerized or macrod way, spent 90% of the time dead or afk in the same spots, and disappeared when confronted except for the one time on the recording 3/4 responded when I said say hi to Twitch. I mean really this stuff ruins the game for those trying to play for real. I’m almost certain if they were indeed bots those were stolen accounts. The leader would move 1-2sec later 2nd would move another 1-2sec 3rd would move, ect. Staying the same distance from each other while “parked”. Just frustrating. I will post a link to the video if a gm or someone wants to see it. Myself, and several other people on the map believed them to be bots with out a doubt.

pro tip use the LFG tool. many will advertise 50%+ maps once VW is dead just use the tool again and you be 50%+ on next map
Yes…… hit “y” and look for maps, that would be the problem. The majority of maps are chest farms that is the problem. #protip read the post
Can we just get the chests to spawn AFTER Vinewrath is defeated instead of having 90% of the maps filled completely and running around without doing events? Like I would like to get Lumi armor set but I have just sat in sw like 4-5 different maps for 3 hours and got to the breach one time and failed because chest farm wouldn’t stop. I would like to play the content, nothing wrong with the chests, just spawn after VW is beaten. Give people and incentive. Of course if you get lucky enough to make it to Vw the leechers from the chest farms head to South entrance and afk. Every godkitten time. I would like to enjoy the Silverwastes and get events done but like I said 90% of the maps that pop up are chest farms. It’s really sad, you have to look for a group actually doing the content. You should be able to join any SW map and be able to defeat vinewrath within an hour if that. But instead all we are getting are a handfull of people protecting maybe two keeps and chest farmers running around leeching until breach. That shouldn’t happen. Chests dont need to be nerfed but they shouldnt spawn until VW is defeated. That way at least people dont have to play for hours at a time trying to get two extracted mordrem parts.
Played 100 sPvP games in the last days and had total of 3 good games. Two on legacy with lord killing, one on forest with 497/500 count. All other 97 games was about stomping trough enemy team or losing horribly.
Unranked played/won: 63/27 (this is after 2 year break from GW…)
Ranked played/won: 27/13 (more recent)And there is the pattern in my eyes. I’m getting close to 50% win rate all the time. If my team wins, then next time I would get people who just play their first PvP and just don’t cap. It could be problem of player base… so I went to ranked. And guess what if you win several times? Then you would face several 5 man teams while playing 5 man solo.
Well tech wise it’s really easy for Anet. Noobs are happy, they getting their wins for the dailies. But everyone who above mediocre level is just face-rolling their keyboard every time they get full Jackie Chan team. It’s okay for the game with “proper” cash shop. They forcing you to spend money to be better than 50% winrate, like Hearthstone (played a lot of it and know what I’m talking about).
But here where everybody have the same stats… This just isn’t right. I think most of people right now play PvP to farm dungeon boxes, u get reward for losing, lol. Right now everybody would say to me thet I should get a team, that someone in Anet said, that sPvP don’t make esports, well then just ban sPvP and make unranked and ranked PvP only for teams.
I’m really concerned about buying HoT with this matchmaking. Core game still have big issues after 3 years, and it is so with only one constructed mode, and assuming that Stronghold is more team dependent, it would be even worse to play sPvP and find normal game.

Yeah no kidding, match making is terrible, and people are just able to grind to the top.
This is one of the best ways to climb Leaderboard. If you want that too, make a 5 engis premade team with Teamspeak and do the same. This game is about easy to play mechanics, with low risk and high reward; if you wish to win with something else, you are in the wrong game. That’s the way the cookie crumbles.
That shouldn’t be how you win or get ranks. PvP even PvE should NOT have one build that determines whether or not you win or lose. I played gw1 for 7 years, and this game for almost 3. I know what game it is, I also know in order to have a truly fair environment there shouldn’t be only one way to win and do well.
I have a suggestion:
1. Every new account must start out in hotjoin, until rank 2-3 is reached. From there, they unlock unranked.
2. After playing x amount of matches in unrank, they are allowed to play in ranked. They are not required to win unrank, just put effort in and play.
3. If too many ranked matches are lost (let’s be generous, and say 20 losses in a row) then they are temporarily locked out of ranked, and returned to unrank. They must then play….say 5 matches before returning to ranked, wins or loss does not matter.
4. A brand new, fresh character, right-out-of-the-starter-zone cannot play in ranked unless it competes in three unranked matches first. (An exception could be made if you have a similar class already, but that’s maybe too much of a bother to code.)

My day so far.
Realistically, you can deal with 2 turret engis by leaving one camp their home and take out the one at other point fast. But when you face five of them and four are on the same point? So much passive damage and cc. Although, you can outrotate them.
Anyways, I think these people are just trolls. I’m sorry you were queued with them, though.
Oh yeah no doubt they are trolling, the leaderboards. lol I have added them to friends list and just watching them climb. -_-

If the other team is able to get themselves together and execute knockdown chains for 10-15 seconds at a time, more power to them.
I can’t think of anything better to try than having your team mob home, then roll to mid, and then to try to hold those points while trying to catch the engi’s coming back in so they can’t set up to assault those points.
I’m not sure conceding mid was the best idea. Maybe just bite the rocket and take the time it takes to clear mid, meh. Not to be mean, but two rangers and they couldn’t barrage the crates? Glad you weren’t one of the rangers.

What was your team’s plan for that game?
Plan was to take outside and let them have mid since they all 5 dropped rockets there and dropped all crates at the start and kept 3 in the middle. didnt help
I’m not stupid right? We were an organized team the second time and still lost. They combine knockdowns for like 10-15 secs at a time. This shouldn’t be allowed right?

Up against this team (all Turret Engi), what a godkitten joke. We lost by the way, the joke is they are allowed to do that.
I like how the one Anet person responded and then silence. Must have been new, and thought “Oh how bad could it be? I will just tell them how it works…..”.
First of all, it would be nice to get a non-vague response, is it amount of time played, levels/rank earned, achievements?
It has been over 6 weeks since my transfer, still associated with Eredon Terrace. I literally have gone from rank 70ish to 159 since the transfer. I doubled my rank on the new server Ehmry Bay, and still associated with old server.
