I’m having ridiculous ping tonight, over 1000. I downloaded a program called pingplotter and the problem seems to be with an NCSOFT ip at 65.25.32.82.ncsoft.com. I have no idea if there’s anything I can do on my end to remedy this except bring it to the attention of anet so here I am. Hopefully this is resolved quickly as it is making playing impossible.

You need to post screenshots. First you need to show your game is using that ip. So in game type /ip and post a screen shot. Then type that ip in ping plotter.

I tested that ip and it is showing 100% packet loss. I doubt that server is actually running. Where did you get that ip from?

When I run pingplotter it shows my signal going through 4 ncsoft ips every time. The ip I mentioned wasn’t the map I was in at the time it was the 3rd of 4. No matter what map I’m in that ip always seems to be there right above my current ip. On a side note today my pings are sub 300 so all good.

You are definitely not in that ip right now because it is not working. You can only be in one ip at a time.

Next time you have problems:
1) in game type /ip
2) write down that ip or take a screenshot
3) put that ip in ping plotter.

This is really an issue somewhere with your ISP or a hop on the way there. It probably experiences high traffic at some point which is when you get the lag. Either way it isn’t Anets servers. Feel free to follow the directions I posted next time you have an issue and post results here.

You’re not understanding what I wrote…no I was not in that ip, it was the last “hop” as you call it before the ip I was in. It doesn’t matter which ip I go to, the ip I listed is always the last hop. As I said, today the issue seems to be resolved.

HoT isn’t available in the Gem Shop. The upgrade from basic to deluxe HoT is.

Yes it is. If you don’t have it yet it’s on the right of the tab on the main page of the gemstore. The same place it was for those of us that pre-ordered it. Once you have it you can no longer see it.

I purchased the Heart of Thorns expansion from the Black Lion vendor, and while the purchase took my credit card and said the transaction was successful, I never received any email, in game mail or any other kind of confirmation. This package is already overpriced at $50, but for it then to not even give me my purchase in infuriating.

Just curious if you’ve logged out and back in? I just upgraded my daughter to HoT through the gemstore and that’s what I had to do for hers.

Hi all

My laptop’s battery decided to die today, and instead of shelling out for a new one I think it would be be better to buy a desktop.

I now play on medium to low settings, and would like to upgrade to high / ultra if possible with a budget between €1200 – 1500.

I already have a monitor and a videocard (MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 1024 MB, 256 Bit, PCIe x16 v2.0), but I don’t know if that last one meets the requirements for gw2.

Can anyone help me out with this?

I’m currently running a GTX 660 which isn’t ranked much better than your 560 Ti and I run fine on max settings. During daily world bosses I can get down to 15-20 fps but I don’t consider that bad on max settings with that many people in close proximity. You should be fine.

Good to hear, just remember that when using ping plotter the connection starts at your PC then works its way to the server. You cant look at the numbers at the .ncsoft without looking at the hops before it. Bad hops in the middle of the route will influence the numbers at the end of the route.

Yeah when I was having the problem yesterday, which I didn’t think to get a screen of, everything between me and ncsoft was in the green. Only 2 of the 4 ncsoft ips were in the red and far in the red at that.

I’m having problems with high ping over here also.
Usually my ping is around 30-60, but I get random spikes to 1500 and even more. It’s so annoying to get disconected when I’m waiting for WvW queue.
Was monitoring my internet connection usage during those spikes, and both download and upload were on few kbps (I have 20/10 Mbps connection). So it’s not problem on my side for sure.

Internet upload/download speeds have nothing to do with it, it’s ping and packet loss that matter. Run pingplotter (it’s free) when you are having the issues and it will show you exactly where the problem is. There are a lot more sides than just you and Anet, there could be 6-12 or more hops your connection takes. Those hops are not owned/operated/serviced by Anet or your ISP.

That is a map instance that has more than likely closed. You need to run it while you are actually in that map and post the screenshot here. As was posted in the other thread, 100% packet loss at that node(IP) tells me the map was already closed when you tested that IP.

I haven’t read all 16 pages of comments, but after reading all the kittening on just the first page I had to add my 2 cents. Yes the shared slots are expensive, but maybe there’s a reason? Just maybe these shared slots have cut into heir possible bottom line from selling multiple of a single gemstore item like gathering tools or salvage kits? When you consider the potential money they have lost by giving us these shared slots that we so desperately wanted the pricing actually makes sense. It’s not something you need so if you feel it’s too expensive you can, as always, merely not buy it. I bought the 5 pack to minimize the price per slot and I love them. Would I have liked to pay less? Sure. Did it stop me from buying them? Not a chance.

Can't log in

I was having trouble logging in yesterday after having a new modem installed. I would enter my info then my authenticator code and it would give me error code 11:1030:8:423 I sent off a support request and then continued to troubleshoot myself. I have a linked GW1 account and was able to log into that still. After searching forums for possible solutions and getting nowhere I went into my mobile google authenticator and checked out all the options. I found a sync option, tried it, and then was able to log back into GW2. I hope this helps someone.
