Everybody uses more than 1 weapon, so you’re in the same boat as the rest of us.

Don’t worry about it, racial skills are there just for the fluff factor. Most of them are either useless or have a better counterpart in a profession specific skill which has a lower cooldown or better effects. Or both.

Some time ago while I was playing thief in WvW (mostly roaming, obviously) I was called all sorts of names from people I’ve killed and also from those who have killed me. Jumping on my face, /dance on my dead body and /kneel on my head were a common thing because some people do get frustrated and angry for all the wrong reasons.

My favorite thing to do at those times was to add them to party, try to calm down the situation and after some chatting casually suggest that we have a duel on even terms. After a couple of those (no matter who wins) they realize how their first reaction was stupid.

And again: “You can’t decide what others should play, but I can decide what you should play”. ^^

If I am doing a speed run of course I will want to do as many runs as fast as I can and for that I need an “optimal” group. If you don’t want to be a part of that group I don’t care and neither should you. Leave me to my own devices because that’s what I want to do in that moment.

If I am just doing dungeons “normally” with my friends (not a speed run) I don’t care what they play because speed and time aren’t that much relevant anymore. I’m not going to order them what to carry.

So I don’t get why are you so upset about this?

You can’t say: “Everyone has a right to choose how to play” and right after that condemn people who want full zerk/DPS party in their dungeon run.

IMO you have 2 goals while playing. Have fun and succeed in what you are doing (in a reasonable amount of time). Some people enjoy having little space for making mistakes and doing content in fastest way possible without dying. Some people enjoy being the only one to survive the battle and laughing at their team mates for being dead. You can and should be able to choose to play how ever you want, but in regard to their effectiveness that choices aren’t necessarily equal.

The stealth mechanic in this game does have a silly design, but seriously? You were basically asking to get destroyed.

While you are playing you are not looking at your armor and weapons. At least I hope not since you’d be dead 90% of the time. And if you choose a race based on the time when you will have a chance to admire your equipment (while standing) in LA you would be better off with watching porn instead. Or just zoom in, that also works.

Thief isn’t useless. Also, last time I checked all classes had to walk since none can (yet) fly.

Well then, how do you know that guardian is playing a bunker so you need to swap to it yourself? My impression was that you said: “I see they have a guardian. We don’t have a guardian ourselves so i will switch to mine.” Then they could react to it in some other way etc.

But where is the limit? You see the opposing team and a couple of you change the class you are playing. The other team reacts to that by making their own changes. After that you make another set of changes as a response. You do this until the clock ticks out and the match starts?

People have abrupt reactions about you because you come off as a rude and arrogant “I know it all” kind of guy. You throw insults left and right even to people who generally agree with you but aren’t quite convinced.

I don’t like your build because of the reasons already mentioned by other people here. Kudos to you for doing the research and putting your time and effort into it, but if people don’t like it don’t be all like: “Well, I guess you don’t even have a science degree since you don’t agree with me” or “Well, I guess you were bad in maths because you aren’t really interested in my theoretical conclusions”. People don’t like your sand castle that you’ve been building with your own hands for months and months? That’s what life is – deal with it.

Then maybe they should nerf your builds. Poor retal guardians.

Why would you do something that you don’t like doing? The new achievement system gave me an incentive to do more stuff that I like for which I can get nice rewards. Do I play the content I don’t find interesting to get those achievements? Of course not.

You can get those points one way or another, but if you are forcing yourself to do something you don’t like then you are the only one to blame.

This topic is about two thieves playing a specific build who can’t kill a guardian playing another specific build.

I am against free respeccing traits. It makes the character meaningless to me and it is not an unreasonable demand to ponder about your build for a few minutes in a RPG.

As someone who played the first Guild Wars I find this silly.

That is very disappointing, I must say.

At what point do you get a Personal Story quest involving your mentor choice during character creation? I am almost at the end of the story arc (my next quest requires level 80) and I don’t remember seeing my mentor in the game, or any mentions of him at all. Did I miss something?
