Guild Wars 2

We know that Merits and Influence are both going obsolete with HoT. What about guild commendations? Do we need to worry about spending what we have now or will those cross over after HoT is released?

If im invited to another guilds hall and it is the hall that my guild does not choose, can I get that halls specific armor or weapon skins if that guild has everything related to it unlocked? Or do I need to be apart of that guild?

Something a guildie reminded me: Not all of us are on the same server. Will we be able to do WvW guild missions together? If so, how is that going to work?

Im glad its not just me.

Im getting error code 42:0:9001:4418:101. That’s the ‘the game client cant reach the log in servers at this time’

My internet is perfectly fine. Ive tried resetting the modem, restarting the computer, resetting the wireless stick.

Obviously its not a firewall thing..nothings changed.

Ive encountered this twice—where it will give me that error trying to log in, or it will log in and I cant move maps without a d/c. Trying to log into the same character will get me to a never ending loading page.

Last time a modem reset cleared it up but this time, not so much.

Im hoping it will somehow clear on its own but at the moment the game is just about unplayable, and I cant warm my guildmates or friends or give them a heads up since you are unable to ‘see’ them online or send a whisper.

I was able to play with this a bit on Friday.

Here are my thoughts:

~Ventari’s tablet. Its a nice and beautiful idea, but it makes no sence to have this active unless you are in a group event. If you want us to have more flexability, I suggest the tablet following you while out of combat. I don’t want to have to worry about telling the tablet to follow me if im trying to head to another location.

This idea will need to be tested for other venues besides PVE though—im not really sure if that would hinder or make someone OP in PvP.

~I liked the staff but noticed pretty quickly that those healing shards don’t do much in the way of healing. It did next to nothing. If sacrificing DPS to fill a certain role, please make sure that the weapon functions as intended..make it worth my while to use that weapon

I adored the staff 5 skill though I think it may be best used when roaming^^

For the other weapons:
I specifically went with a zerker build to give myself an idea of where damage stacks up. To set up a baseline. It took my friend and I might stacking with a combo field/finisher to even come close to the damage output I should have seen. I believe there are some major damage voids here and I think that the output damage should be played with.

It shouldn’t matter what legend ive evoked. If im on zerker gear, it shouldn’t take me a good 20 seconds to take down some random spawn in orr on my own.

That said, I realize that a legend based on dps will most likely be available when its complete (Shiro, mayhap?) Hopefully the lack of dps output will iron itself out then.

I want to point out: My friend, whos playstyle is now you see me, now your dead did NOT like the rev at ALL. He got bored quickly and dropped it like a hot rock.

I play a support with a bit of DPS for a main so im a bit more tolerable but I would get annoyed pretty quick if the rev was left as is.

~~The other thing I noticed is its taking way too much time for my skills on my weapons to finish casting. Theres got to be a bit of a better balance, especially when the output of those skills isn’t worth (at the moment) the time its taking for them to charge up.

~~I agree with a lot of people here. I assume that there is not weapon swap because we can invoke legends, yes? The ele has 4 different elements to choose from. The engi a multitude of packs—which also change the 1-5 skills. At the moment, what the rev can do does not make the lack of weapon swapping worth it.

If weapon swapping is not an option, maybe having access to evoking more then 2 legends is? Just put each on an F key—like the ele has each of its elements. It may balance things out a bit if we could have access to maybe 4 legends instead of 2—especially if each legend is designed for a specific role.

tldr;
~the overall weapon outputs are weak in damage at the moment. I feel like im a bunker when im in full zerk.
~skill charging on 1-5 skills is too long and in most cases hinders me. Im a sitting duck. That’s not fun.
~lack of weapon swap doesn’t make up for what is currently there.

Yeah, my last case scenario is asking a friend to buy it for me—but im sure you can see that it isn’t ideal. I already feel bad that ill probably have to bug her.

But see, even though I probably will end up getting it through my friend (I really don’t have a choice, do I? Noone is saying anything. Maybe because they don’t know..maybe because they cant..and maybe because no ones seen it), there are still many other people who are stranded. Not everyone knows someone. And if you need that boxed set, if you can find a US retailer to ship it to you, you know they are going to be nailed for the shipping cost and for duty (shipping isn’t cheap..and for a fifty dollar value, youre going to get nailed atleast $15 ontop of that)

So..this question..this thread is still very important. Just because the whole of the people effected from one country isn’t posting, doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

If you took the time to read the last post, why didn’t you read the first one? For the record, ive gotten error messages for awhile now..so being unable to get something isn’t new.

I just gave up on it since nothing we tried worked.

Well, I have an update on my end.

EB Games called me this morning. I may as well be on Mars, HQ hasn’t heard of the expansion, don’t have it and may not be getting it. He said that they saw the only place it was available…was on NCSoft’s website and even said that it looked like it was NOT a Canadian thing..will not be available in our country.

What is going on? Come on, this is now bordering on ridiculous. It was advertised that, starting on the 23rd, players could pre purchase HoT at one of their partner/official retailers. And EBGames was—before it got ninja’ed out— the only retailer, recognized by the GW2 site on the FAQ/more information (I honestly cant remember what it was called) page in Canada. Now, Canada is not listed at all.

I don’t live in a remote location. That store was in a major mall and this has now caused quite a bit of embarrassment for me, since its been ‘my store’ since the late 90’s. But I guess that doesn’t matter.

The next big question is, where do we—the people that are now stranded because we cant get it online— go from here? That was HQ—and one would think that if it just got postponed someone would have said something to them. HQ knows nothing as of a few hours ago. So..if an entire country will not beable to get this expansion—for whatever reason—what do we do? What happens if we are unable to get it pre-purchased before its released?

Someone, please say something. There have been quite a few ‘mix ups’ lately—and this a seriously big one. Did it get postponed? (its fine if it did—but im sorry, its not fine that there isn’t information about it—im not talking about those not responsible for that decision so don’t take that personally). If its an issue with getting boxes, why not just put it through with the digital codes in the meantime?

If you are going to ninja information like this—one way or another, you have to let us know. Its not good business practice to leave paying customers hanging. (wasn’t there something about that in the amendment that was posted? Come on, don’t eat your words.)

I also need to know if I have to go an pester my US friend, now..which I never wanted to do. I don’t want her to mess up her account, either and its unclear if you can buy more then 1 code for more then one person. If she has to go to a physical store just for me… ><

~~I want to clarify—Im not looking specifically for a boxed copy. Im looking for the expansion period and will take a code, or a boxed version. The person I was working with did check for both. The only thing in his computer was EotN, and it was retired.

I also want to stay open minded—I mean I can see things from the other end, but its hard when you are stuck trying to explain something that was once there and is now edited out to someone that never saw that information in the first place.

So its not just me—that’s comforting to know.

I need to make sure ‘someone’ reads this instead of it potentially falling through the cracks (its easy to miss a thread when you are going though many of them—and trust me, its very possible, if unintentional). This is not a matter of ‘just get it online’. Its literally ‘I cant for x reason here.’ I need to know what is going on with the Canadian retailers list and why the store that was once on there has no record of this expansion.

Im going to open up by saying that I..Don’t post on the forums, though read them from time to time, so to get me to post is an epic feat.

So, I checked a few times over a few days and under official retailers in Canada was EB games. In fact it was the ONLY retailer (as a note: EB Games and gamestop are pretty much the same store. We just have the one up here)

I go there today and theres nothing in their system. They are currently trying to pester HQ to figure out whats going on.

So I go back to the official retailers page to print out a sheet for said store…and everything under Canada is gone.

Please tell me what happened. Its unwise to eliminate physical retailers for an entire country (and not a small one at that)—especially since it seems it was Ninja’ed last night or this morning—just like the HoT page.

I need to know whats going on. Do I need to send one of my US friends money to get me this expansion—and if I do, can you not see how much of a pain in the butt that will be—for the both of us?

As a BG native, im going to have to agree. Im honestly confused with the schedule since its been proven it can be broken a bit more fairly.

I just hope things can be reconsidered.

I made 2 keys. One in LA, one in Queensdale. Im at 8/10 for the meta and the keymaker daily did not pop.

Heres hoping credit will eventually be given. Im kind of relying on the daily metas to get the living world achievement done.
