Makes cute Charrs- confirmed
Maguuma Server
I’m sure this will bring a host of opinions. :P
I’ve played Mag since the game’s release (hiatus’d for a two-year period, tho) and while I still have a lot of love for the people there now, I feel like it would be fun to switch it up sometime. I might eventually try moving to a new server.
I probably won’t do it right at this moment and might NEVER do it, but I was curious where others would say is the “best” place to move to as of now.
I play with a laptop, so that was my predominate method for a long time- it was just easier. I play WvW mostly (PvE when not in there) so I adapted quickly to using mouse scrolling more often. It was kind of a necessity for fast camera movement/ fast maneuvering in general. I still have strafe left/right bound to WASD though and mix the two at times, so you don’t have to go cold turkey or anything.
Honestly, whether it’s been happening or got worse… doesn’t matter. This is a large-scale battle gamemode. It shouldn’t lag this bad regardless. It’s handling what players are basically guaranteed to do.
^ hahhaaha ahhaa ha. ahaaa.
A lot is borked, for sure. To varying degrees. The invulnerability spam is a big one. It’s a shame, I wish stealth could be less… cancer, because it could (and can) be a cool mechanic in WvW.

OP- there was supposedly an ANet person on either BG or TC this past reset (I’ve forgotten which, I’m pretty sure it was BG)- I heard about it in map chat.
People definitely did freak out about it. That said, the people who freak out about it are likely the very very vocal minority.
I’m sure there are people who like using arrow carts to wipe zergs… I’m just not one of them.
Well whether you like it or not, siege warfare is one of the fundamental design elements of WvW. Stop demanding WvW to be changed to something it was never intended or claimed to be.
So is the 2nd part, I don’t see it all that often though.
“sieging and controlling objectives and about open field combat”
No one is demanding open field combat be removed from the game.
No one is demanding siege be removed from the game, either. The main idea seems to be making arrow carts less OP, not removing them entirely.
Siege placement is a super cool part of defending anything in WvW, but it’s become a main focus. Actually, no, it’s not even siege placement, it’s arrow cart placement. Operating arrow carts requires no skill, and it’s easy to throw up a bunch of them and mow down an army. That’s lame.
A lot of fights now purely come down to “will we be spotted” and “does the enemy have supply”, and if it’s yes to both, then you’d really may as well give up unless you’ve got the entire map with you. :x
While temporary content is entertaining, it is by far not my favorite feature of GW2. The fact that Anet is continuing to release temp content is not troubling; it’s the fact that they’re devoting so many resources to it.
They’re going to be stretching 4 teams to throw out content as fast as they possibly can, basically. Why not stretch out the content over longer periods of time to cut down how much personnel they’re putting on the task? This would help limit the “I just came back to the game after three months and missed everything” factor, as well.
I LIKE the temporary content but… it’s temporary. It will go away in two weeks. I feel like I have to rushrushrush through the two weeks in order to get in all of the content, and that often makes me just flat-out not want to do most of it. Anet promised a living, changing world, and temporary content like this would be a GREAT way to do that- IF the temporary content had any lasting effects on the world. So far, it hasn’t.
Temp content would also seem a lot more worthwhile if we were getting any permanent content to go with it. We’re getting very little of that right now, which is really a drag for someone who devotes fairly little time to the living stories like myself. And yes, they’re promising permanent content, but that doesn’t matter much to me until I see it, seeing as Anet has a habit of not keeping promises.
