Thank you for your suggestion @Dahkeus ! Necro seem’s like the right choice. It is just harder to play (I tried some match, I got wrecked, even with the meta build – I am a noob fo sure).
About the DD ele, I just don’t like the ele at all (I don’t like to switch between 4 element). And never, never, I will choose a class because of it’s current OP state. The nerf will always happen soon or late anyway (and for me, it is not moral)!
I tried the guardian, necro and warrior. The 3 are really fun, but I think at this point, my final choice would be necro and warrior (Guardian feel good, but not as much as the two others – IMO).
I like the feeling of being really hard to kill as a warrior, but I love the necro style (I love the death polysh style of the death necromaster warrior from necroland)
I would say, I can survive more as a warrior than a necro (this is really important for me, I love being hard to kill). I think it is simply because the warrior is easiest to play (Gs/Hammer – not too hard). But I fell like the necro can be more versatile and powerfull…
I plan to do some roaming in WVW too. On metabattle, I found this build : Necromancer – Signet Roamer
“This build gives you a high condition damage with a good spike and incredible survivability. It’s cappable to shutdown any class if played right. Its optimal for solo/small scale roaming.” – This is the kind of build I am looking for.
I plan to test this build tonigh in SPVP (even if the build is made for WVW, that will give me a good preview of the build)

The last time I played GW2 was maybe 2 years ago.
I was playing a spirit ranger and it was great!
I was not invincible, but I could hold the points, resist 2-3 peoples while waiting for my friends and my damage was descent (sometimes, I could kill 1 guy while holding).
It was really awesome !
Now, I want to re-roll and I am not interested in glass-canon class like thief, mesmer or ele. I would like to choose a something who can full-fill the same role…
I am mainly hesitating between the Guardian, Engi or Necro.
Regarding the current state of the game, what class would be the top pick in term of survivability, ability to hold points and descent damage.
Notice that I usually play with one of my friend (who play mostly glass-canon class)

Hi guys, I wanna know if you can help me to chose a class that I should reroll to play with my friend. He is playing a mesmer.
We want to do WVW together, kill some people and have fun. But I am wondering if you guys can help me.
I really don’t know wich class can be good pair with a mesmer. I tought about guardian or ranger. But I want something with high survability and mobility. (I don’t wanna play rogue, I know it is probably the best class for solo/duo, but I hate it)
