Hey everyone, returning to the game after a year so I can’t remember if this is how things always were, but I’ve realized I can’t hear NPC dialogue unless I’m directly facing them. I don’t think this is correct because in certain cutscenes I can barely hear them if my character wasn’t right in front of them when the scene started. Any known ways to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance!
Here is an example of the difference I am seeing in the leggins in the hero panel vs. the game world.
Well that post says Sylvari leg armor still needs to be fixed, and that is what I am having the problem with so maybe that is the issue. I just got this armor today so it is standing out to me.

Maybe the high Shaders setting has looked like this for awhile and I just noticed because I got some new armor today. I really don’t like the low or medium setting because my armor looks less detailed, but the high setting makes my T3 Slyvari leggings look like a different color. They are bluish/black and with this setting they look light green.
Here are pictures of my character in the hero panel with shaders set to low, and then to high, and then me out in the open world with shaders on high. It doesn’t look like it normally does or how it looks in the hero panel. Everything it lit up and the color of my leggings doesn’t even look the same.
Hey thanks for the responses guys. I just tampered with my settings and found out that changing Shaders does indeed correct the problem. Actually StinVec my Shaders are usually set on high, and I have never noticed this effect before. Like you said, it may have been introduced with the recent update. I lowered my Shaders to medium and it corrected the problem, however I would prefer to have them on high since it doesn’t negatively affect anything else, and my character looks fine in the Hero menu and any time I equip a piece of armor before I begin moving. I’ll keep them on medium for now but I wonder if this is something that needs to be fixed.
I just noticed this today, and I don’t think it has happened before. My character and armor looked lighter than usual, so I unequipped everything and equipped it again and it looked normal. As soon as I started moving the weird light came back. I repeated this process a few times and it kept happening. Any reason for this? I’ve attached a before and after pic.
Anyway to send players a mask who got the achievement?
I just spent an hour doing Mad Kings says. I got a Silver in the event and no mask. I arrived a few minutes late but was there for most of it. Other people who arrived late and got silver claimed they got the mask but I didn’t and several other people in the area didn’t get it either. Is this bugged? I want to know for sure before spending my time again. Thanks!
I thought with the new reward system we were supposed to get 1-3 chests at the end of the week, but I got nothing for the first week of the season.
I would like to join! level 80 thief full exotic/ascended
My SAB Back to School Meta Achievement currently says 5/13 achievements complete but I have the following 6:
Associate of Secrets, World 2
Associate of Baubles, World 2
Tiptoe
Wings of Justice
It Was an Ambush
Baby’s Second Super Adventure
Does the infantile achievement not count?
Is is quicker to get the baubles and secret rooms in 2-3? I haven’t tried yet. I am doing infantile and just between checking the guide, making sure I don’t miss anything, and killing every assassin, it takes at least an hour or two. I understand this isn’t a huge amount of time and I’m not saying my internet goes out every hour but there are probably a few times a day where it slows down/loses connection for a second and GW2 seems to disconnect when this happens. On the other hand I have played for hours in a row with no problems. It is just emphasized here because this is really the first piece of content where you are required to engage for a couple of hours at a time without leaving.
Even the most reliable internet connections can go out for a few seconds here and there. If you lose a connection for even a moment you get disconnected from the game. Now, normally this wouldn’t be a huge issue, but with SAB it is.
I’m really not here to complain, I love SAB and I think the difficulty is fine where it is. However, in World 2 Zone 2 specifically, the process of going through it to find all of the secret rooms, baubles, and assassins can take 1-2 hours even if you are using a guide. I was just in the middle of doing this and was about 95% complete when my internet went out for a moment. Now all of my progress is wasted and I have to start again, risking the same thing.
I know you could just say get a better connection but in certain areas this is the best there is, and I wager my connection is much better than many other GW2 players. Is there anyway possible that you can work on a system that saves your place in SAB (or the rest of the game) if you get disconnected and log back in within a few minutes? Or anyway to save our progress at checkpoints in SAB. Besides the disconnection issue, many people don’t have hours at a time to invest without a break. Getting these achievements and the rewards/titles absolutely requires you to be in front of your computer for multiple hours in a row and not take a break. This is fine for a MMORPG but the rest of GW2 is designed so you can jump in and out for a few minutes at a time. Even most dungeons don’t take this long to complete.
Any thoughts on this? I really am not trying to criticize and I appreciate that us players even get a chance to communicate with the devs and voice our opinions. I understand some of the things I’m asking may be difficult, or even impossible, to implement, but a few of these features would save people a lot of time and trouble without lessening any difficulty or challenge. I just hate being punished for investing my time only for a fluke to erase all of my progress.
Thanks for any response and I love the game!
The owls are not what they seem is a reference to the TV show Twin Peaks. Watch it.
I made a topic about this but in case a dev sees this I wanted to say I’m stuck at 273/300 for crabgrabber and I did not get crabtacular despite meeting the requirements last night. I won’t have anymore time to do these and the bug is preventing me from finishing before Dragon Bash starts. An update on this would be awesome!
Hi,
I see various other players are having this same issue. Finally after hours of trying, I managed to be holding the crab while the two other players I was playing with got knocked down, however the crabtacular achievement didn’t pop up. This has been one I’ve been trying to get since day one of the event and I finally pulled it off, only to find out the achievements are bugged. Is there anyway I can retroactively receive this, especially since the event is ending in a couple of days. Also, I am stuck on 273/300 on crabgrabber and I should have been at 300 by now.
Any help is greatly appreciated, I really want these achievements!
Hey everyone. I have been playing this game since launch but beginning a few days ago every time I log in I get terrible lag. Nothing has changed with my computer/internet and all of my other online games/services work fine. The game loads fine and I have no trouble logging in. It runs smoothly but when I use a skill it just does nothing for 10 seconds before finally I see the animation, and it takes a few minutes for the online members of my guild/friend to register. Any idea what could be going on? Thanks!
This isn’t a big deal but I just noticed today that my pumpkin carver achievement tracker reset to 0, yet I still have the title? Any reason or fix for this? Thanks!
This happened to me as well. Right during the rock slide portion. Have no idea what happened. By the time I logged back in, it was over. I am really angry. I just spent 2.5 hours doing this for nothing, in addition I probably spent 20 silver on armor repairs and teleporting during the event!
I really hate to complain, but this is a little ridiculous. This entire event has been bugged but I still tuned in to see the end. I spent over 2 hours on a dragonbrand overflow server, wasting a lot of money on armor repairs and teleporting…only to be disconnected during the rock slide portion of the event. I know this happened to a lot of people too. When I logged back in, I was in a overflow server where the event had already finished and I received no reward. Is there anyway this can be corrected? There should be a way to reward people who spent significant time on the event even if they weren’t at the end, why were so many people disconnected??
Yeah for example the clock tower achievement. I spent 5 hours completing that just because I wanted to get the achievement (even though it had no effect on the overall Mad King achievement/title), its just a cool thing to know I have and I would be sad if it just got suddenly replaced. What would have been the point of having an achievement for that jumping puzzle, especially since it didnt come with a title, otherwise?
