Definitely buggy, since Noxia is sometimes has the invulnerable buff forever.
If there are multiple people, some may be able to keep the attention of Noxia while others go get the skill point. With cooperation and luck you can complete it.
When is ANet going to address the ongoing issues with the forums randomly requiring login, randomly logging you out, and general flakiness? It’s very frustrating to try and use them when every second or third visit results in a “please log in” page.

Better, but definitely a performance hit.
Minor suggestion: siege blueprints from map completion and puzzle completion in WvWvW zones should be account bound, not character bound. This would allow people that have separate PvE characters and PvP characters to actually use these items in PvP.
As an example, I run a guardian as a PvE character, and never expect to do any more PvP with him. I’d love to take the blueprints I’ve obtained while getting map completion and use them on my PvP warrior.

Talk to scouts.
There’s a class of merchant common to many zones in GW2. They sell some combination of salvage kits and tools. I suggest that if a merchant sells any of these items, they sell ALL TYPES. It’s nothing but frustrating to have to run between a half-dozen merchants out in the wild to find your preferred tool or salvage kit if you run out.
Yes you could argue that limiting selection in lower zones is necessary, but it’s not, as anyone can buy any item in major cities. Limiting tool availability in the wilds is just silly.
There do appear to be carving pumpkins in all lower level zones.
Full update this AM was 700 ish MB for me.
People aren’t actually expecting the first major content push for a new MMO to work the first time, are they?
Armor and weapons are a constantly evolving stream of change. Plate doesn’t make you invincible, and weapons constantly evolved to counter improvements in armor.

You can see all your posts in your forum profile, not that that’s an answer to your underlying question, but it may help you find something you’ve written.
They line up well with helmets too.
You should get a hand icon over the upper-right part of the title bar (where the tab labels are). You can use that to drag it down into position. You may have to narrow the window to make it fit beside the buttons.
Nice checklist! <snip>
Altruistic Healing is your friend.

We’ve finally tracked down the root cause of these missing skill point NPCs and fixed it. This magical fix will be in the next patch after it goes through further testing. This fix will also address issues with missing Event NPCs, too.
We apologize for the hassle these have been, but thank you all for hanging in there while we got this issue sorted out.

Two weeks, still broken. When is this going to be resolved?
And let me clarify: By this I don’t mean the single broken skill point mentioned in the subsequent official post, I mean the many many broken events and skill points across the entire game. If you think they’re fixed, they’re not.

Cabbage farms are also found in Blazeridge and Dredgehaunt. See http://rnd-diversions.blogspot.com/2012/09/guild-wars-2-food-farms.html for details on exact locations.
So there was maintenance overnight. “Ha!” I thought. “I can go get the Hylek in Metrica skill challenge done now!”
Of course it’s still broken.
Nicely played ANet. Nicely played.
Honestly, the constantly bugged out event chains have really killed my desire to play. Reporting seems to do no good. ANet doesn’t seem to respond or fix the bugs causing these issues.
It doesn’t. The forums regularly block access and re-request login credentials.

You mean like those anxious citizens in the LA TP?
Agree with this. Also the placement of merchants too close to waypoints obscures their icon on the map.
Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of skill points to spend as you level, and once you hit 80 you still earn skill points through experience and skill challenges.
I counter the need for a light field to remove conditions when we have several shouts doing the same thing, a trait to remove them every 10 seconds, and a healing signet for every 10 seconds (trait+signet=you will never have conditions on you for longer than 5 seconds). If you worry about conditions then build (all of 10 points even) to counter them, don’t rely on fields.
As for the melee+melee being disadvantaged. Well…sadly in MMOs melee is almost always disadvantaged if you focus upon it. Be it large mobs AOEing in cones or shockwaves, or the requirement to get through damage fields just to deal any damage at all.
The point of a light-field / whirl combo is not removal of one’s own conditions, it’s the removal of other people’s conditions, and the support (and potential self-heal via Altruistic Healing) that provides.
It would be nice to see zone completion percentage on the world map.

^^ 1000 times this.
How to get the best screenshot result? Mine is too dark compare to others player
One option is to use a program like IrfanView to adjust color balance/gamma/brightness.
-AFK auto reply back from players when whispering them.
-Names of the Asura Gates on Maps and when moused over in-game from a distance.
-Customized Chat Window Channel Colors.
The first of these (along with an option to set yourself afk) would be awesome. The second, particularly in Rata Sum, would be a godsend.
The third, to me, is a ‘why is not having this even possible?’ Private / password protected channels and channel /chat customization should be a bare minimum for any MMO chat system. Chat is the sole in-game method for player communication in GW2. It should provide a complete set of options to support things like multi-guild channels (private channel + password), and color customization.
This seems to happen when a thread has a number of posts equal to the posts/page limit.
Good discussion here. Let’s keep it alive.
Learning skills takes about 15 minutes. I don’t think this is a valid reason to adjust skill order.
The mouse cursor, especially at higher resolutions, is very difficult to track in hectic situations. I really wish the cursor was a bit larger or more contrasted to the rest of the display.
I’ve added a second GW2 related post to my blog, this one covering the various karma vendors for cooking ingredients:
http://rnd-diversions.blogspot.com/2012/10/guild-wars-2-karma-food-vendors.html
Enjoy!
This is a pretty big loss.
Slower symbol+whirl = much less condition removal for everyone.
It also greatly reduces the value of Altruistic Healing for GS.
>> 33. you don’t need to be there when an event ends in order to get credit for it..
But you do need to be in the same zone. Leaving the zone cancels your participation.
I have map completion on that zone and I don’t see a POI with that name anywhere. Sure you have the right name?
Now that this article has some substantial material, I figured I’d publish the link here. This post lists the various food node farms in the game. Each entry includes a map section with the location marked, along with notes on what the farm contains, and what sort of foes you might encounter along the way. Hope it’s helpful!

Seconding the banded armor suggestion. Some of those pieces look really nice. I was fairly disappointed that the exotic crafted gloves only support a single dye color. I’m also still puzzled by the Charr T3 armor, which appears to be “Hey we heard you like spikes, so we put some spikes on your spikes and added some spikes.” Who the kitten wants to wear a rhino horn for a helmet?
Wait, that message is anti-bot code? Holy kittens. That needs some serious tuning, since I’ve seen it trigger during a game session while completing a single dynamic event.
Thumbs up for a great guide! We need more posts like this.

Exact same issues using a Logitech mx518.
<snip>…and are you using the Logitech Setpoint software (installed from CD/downloaded), or the built-in mouse drivers by Microsoft (you installed nothing with the mouse)? These things are important…
Tried both. Doesn’t matter. It’s clearly a game issue since every other application and game I use has absolutely no issues.
Windows 7 64 bit
Logitech MX518
Same issue. In addition, releasing one or the other mouse button when the pointer is off the game window causes the game to minimize (full screen mode on dual monitor setup). This is disconcerting at best, deadly at worst.

While strafing, releasing a button causes the mouse pointer to occasionally appear in second monitor, which causes game to minimize.
RMB clicks regularly fail to register, leaving me standing in the fire far too often.
Mouse works perfectly in every other game / application.
This behavior seems to have gotten worse since the patch early this week.
Rabid gear can drop in PvE. I have a Rabid upgrade sitting in my bank.
Great original post here. I don’t have issues with the FOV, but I find the camera bouncing off of and hanging up on world geometry to be very frustrating. It feels like the larger races, Charr and Norn, get the worst of this.
I’ve also found a few places where the camera can get completely trapped. Off the top of my head, standing on one of the spear launchers in the Norn areas when it is destroyed seems to instantly trap the camera beneath the wreckage.
