Aside from the helm, there are other undocumented changes that I don’t like:

1. More neck area is exposed
2. The chest piece used to protrude out in the front and the back, now it’s been flattened to the body, resulting in a “slim fit”

Overall, I’m not impressed with the changes.

I noticed this too, the dredge breastplate used to protrude out from the chest, and fit more loosely….I purposely bought the “total makeover kit” to adjust the body volume to fit the armor, now they look malnourished

With the same traits? You can switch skills and not traits as an elementalist and fill another role? The thing that fascinates me about Mesmer is that they have several skills that basically do the same thing, just in different ways. Chaos Storm, Phantasmal Disenchanter, And Null Field all support, but they are each different types of skills from different sources. Theoretically, this means a Staff-focused, Phantasm-focused, OR glamour-focused Mesmer could support, they would just be doing it in a different way.

Well the thing with elementalist is that they can switch attunements, and each attunement can offer individual or combinatorial roles. E.g. for a D/D elementalist, fire field + earth = AoE buff + AoE Damage. Water attunement = healing. They can be fully viable in damage, support, and mobility even when speced heavily into water and arcana traits (defensive and utility traits).

Maybe we have a different definition of pay to win here. My definition goes something like this: requirement to spend real life money to gain an virtual advantage. The only “advantage” here is that your friend just paid to not enjoy the journey of the game. He did not somehow gain an advantage over you in the virtual space, therefore it cannot be considered as pay to win.

Last time i check all servers were Full/high pop. ANET said that population means People PLAYING, no registered accounts. So, There is two options:

1) People are in different zones where you are.
2) ANET lied

Besides, you are talking about Underflow zones… that is different about “merging servers”.

For the record, ANet has come out and said the service “fullness” is based on accounts registered to a server. Theoretically, a server could be “Full” and yet, every person there quit playing the game and will never return (making it totally “dead”) and it’d still register as “Full”.

Also … I haven’t had Overflow in LA during prime time on my server more often than I have had it. I also have visited zones (again during “primetime”) and found less than 6 people in zone total.

Eh I think they said somewhere it is actually the amount of people logged on during that time. If you try to switch server at different times during the day, you’ll notice that during non-prime times the servers are not full.

Since neither of us have solid proofs (quotes from devs), I hope someone would dig up the quote from somewhere.

Great read, one of the more valuable piece of post on the forum so far. I honestly feel there should be a template on how complaints should be written just so it can be reviewed in a systematic manner.

It’s just too much to ask for on forums nowadays.

First time poster here,

Thank you OP for creating this post, I just wanted to get something off my chest here.

I certainly appreciate the amount of effort and time been invested into this game. Creating something on the scale of an MMO is no easy task, and I don’t think players understand how much work and refinement this game has to go through to reach this stage. Rushing through a game that have so many intricate and creative details (conversation, scenery, even the character design) is doing a disservice to the developers. For most of the cases, I feel that the players are being unfair if they think this is a bad game simply because of small personal dissatisfaction. If they do feel that way, please, by all means, create a game that does not have these components AND innovative at the same time. I bet people will still think there are imperfections.

This is not a personal attack against anyone, I just thought it would be fair to appreciate the game a bit more, if not for the personal discomfort, but for the amount of effort and and time invested into something as innovative (in my opinion, or not by others) as this.
