Key farming is guaranteed. It is based on creating a new character and getting it to the point where you get a guaranteed key as a reward (dont remember which step in PS it is, sorry).

farming in this game isnt gona work the loot is minimal at best and as devs have already stated this is only about the game play if you want loot a pre or even keys , your wrong nothing is guaranteed, and from story you get a few farming in this game its not what the game is any longer about the loot is junk people leave because the only game out there with no loot is gw2

I’m a logic person. After buying 3 precursors, I have done the math, using statistics and the experience of other people to persuade myself to use the mystic forge instead of buying the precursors. Basically, the odds of getting a pre is .2 % from rares. Using a cumulative binomial calculator, the odds of getting 1 or more pre from 350 attempts is 50%….

Well… I tend to spend My money where I play. And My current opinion is…this game was awesome at launch…and each patch takes it further and further away from what I enjoyed. I think it is headed in the wrong direction. So at first I played, and didn’t buy. But… it is so hard to farm Gold consistently… that I saw myself Buying Gold with gems. So I decided if I am gonna spend money., I may as well spend it where I enjoy playing.

noooo you can make plentyyy of gold, doing dungeons and farming/gathering. and even if you want to buy gems, its simple, buy gem with gold when gems are cheap and buy gold with gems when gold is cheap. you can merchant this u know =/…..it just takes time, everything takes time. the best part of it all is that for the necessary thingsu really and i mean REALLY dont need much gold…at all. for the hard to get stuff….it takes effort dude =/….thats what the game is for, to make u spend time on it. either way, its way good now i honestly believe that its great and if u log on even once during the 2week events that will come, then u will eventually have a whole bunch of cool stuff to pick n choose from….a lot a lot a lot XD!! you probably just went about it the wrong way.

I will say though, I don’t agree with the focus of putting the majority of armour into the store, and the whole ‘gems to gold’ posts in the blogs do leave a bad taste in my mouth.

They’ve never said an expansion is coming; on the contrary, they’ve said they’re focusing on the LS at the moment and have no current plans for an expansion.

Also, I don’t know how much you frequent the forums, but at the moment the content has been put on hold because of the China launch. As for the past year, most of the content has been temporary, which everyone knows. That’s where most of the content was; been and gone.

And yes, while words are cheap, it doesn’t change the fact that they’ve let us know that new content won’t be starting until after the China launch. Until they actually start releasing said content, they can’t make good on their word, neither can they called liars on their statements for future content.

The game really needs better ways of getting ascended armor and weapons. Crafting them requires insane farm/grind for hundreds of hours with hundreds of gold and mats. It would be nice to earn them through guild coms, pristine relics, or laurels like the trinkets. Right now the pve “endgame” is just farm farm farm so you can craft craft craft.

OP if you want to have fun, try WvW or arenas.

WvW you can only do for 2 hours thats it then you get chucked out and have to wait for god knows how long ?? what im saying is where the things we was promised ? expansions , New content , Anything to really do , Everything nerfed its like the players are being punished for playing the game it is now a GRIND !! WvW really isnt an alternative to them doing something to expand the game

Anyway, first off 2 hour time limit then kicked from wvw? What? If you get bored of wvw that’s another story and I can relate (I don’t play it much myself to be honest).

Game does need an honest to god, traditional, full-sized expansion with all the expected content and amenities. If you want an answer to why they haven’t started developing one yet, I think you can blame NCSoft for choosing to diversify their revenue stream. NCSoft is smart to hedge their bets rather than double down, but what is best for NCSoft isn’t necessarily best for Anet and GW2.

In case you were wondering, NCSoft are the company that pays Anet. Rest assured that some or most of your gem store money goes straight into NCSoft’s pocket, not Anet’s.

It’s likely that these small living story patches are all Anet can afford to develop. A full blown expansion would require a bigger budget.

the only things that really get me down about this game is the poor balance, the fact that a lot of your farming is highly dependent on other players, and the storyline was pretty wishy washy for a long time..

though, this years living world seems to have had better implementation in that it has catered to a broader range of players.. four winds and pavilion were my two least favorite releases previously, but this time around it seems less shabby

Quit three weeks after release, and literally just came back here two weeks ago.

But this time I’m pumped and semi-hooked. I transferred to a T1 server, I’m playing “Catch up” in regards to gearing + economically + crafting, I got an elementalist to 80 (something I wanted to do a long time ago) and I’m pumped for WvW.

If it wasn’t for the economy of the game though, I’d probably not be playing it right now to be honest.

the economy is going bad quickly its like gw2 wants to remove all gold you can earn for you to just buy it your basic " cash grab " if you ask me , i just think WvW only works for a limited time i dont see the point

just to ask a very serious question any one else bored with gw2 right now ? does anyone else feel like there really not much to do ? you reach level 80 and all you have to do is now map complete and then theirs nothing after it , there not expanding it there not doing anything except promoting the gem store , there hardly no rewards for anything you do and you have to put a lot of effort into what you have to do for really basically nothing , if they put half the amount of time into the game like they do the gem store would have a decent game i guess one can only dream

Please change defending Lyssa’s temple to also grant the trait.
I’ve tried to get this one since release, camping it for hours, the temple has not been contested even once. I have 8 characters that need unlocking…
I could easily buy the trait it from my trainer, but it feels like skipping content. I prefer to actually play the game.

Please move the trait from Karka Queen to something that is available much more often, or even better remove her and the 2 really big bosses from this stupid schedule. The spawn times are well outside of most employed adults’ game time in Europe.

Please gate traits through level appropriate content. An example: Speedy Kits is the first trait recommended for engineers to make exploring Tyria more fun. By the time you can fulfill the requirement you are mostly done with exploring.

these are not impossible to get i have got all of them all 5 without spending anything and they are easy enough to do read the wiki on how you do these and i am sure it will help you

A quick question, sorry if this has been asked or answered but I dont have enough time to read everything : is it intended that you can’t unlock the new traits in the defense part of Arah gates and of Lyssa ?

Not sure what is meant by the above. I have done both the Defeat the Risen High Wizard, and the Defeat the High Priestess of Lyssa" events to unlock the GM traits.

It can be done, but what we did was play it safe. We assumed that defending would get us Nothing, no matter what people said, we allowed the Risen to overrun the place, then we attacked when we saw the High Priestess, Risen High Wizard.

It does take some communication on map chat, explaining to players not aware, that to get the GM traits Risen need to be allowed to take over the Temple etc.

As long as no one is greifing by yelling things Like.“They are the griefers, you need to defend or x will not spawn.” (Something needs to be done about this.) Then getting The High Priestess and The High Wizard will spawn.

i would just like to add to my wife’s comment here by saying we have done all 5 and did not buy a single GM trait at all we did all the content that was required and got all 5 yes it did take some waiting but eventually you do get there , i agree with my wife in the respect we have started new ones and find the new trait system both fun and interesting , i also agree with there were a lot of griefers especially around lyssa while we were there and yes it did make it fail and this need to be addressed as you have to wait for hours to get that GM trait for some griefer or troll to mess it up while others are saying what to do that one griefer can mess the whole thing up and we did see one fail due to one griefer the other day , these traits are not unattainable or impossible they can actually be done with as my wife says communication on map chat and also co-operation of others i agree with my wife as we are starting new ones and i for one agree with her in saying i like it and yes its fine how it is

So what? That’s not remotely a justification. Most games have learned from the bad decisions of the past and moved on.

And just because a lot of players want it when they want it, and do not want to have to do things later…put things off til later in the game….doesn’t make what gw2 did …a mistake.

Glossing over the unnecessary descent to the adhominem : most people commenting here seem to have been happy with the pace of the perfectly good, working system GW2 had before. There’s nothing inherently wrong with changing that, if the replacement is reasonable. In this case, in my opinion the change is massively flawed, in several ways that I and others have documented, and if left unrectified, could easily prove to be the nail in GW2’s coffin. Clearly you don’t agree. Fine, you’re entitled to your opinion as well. Time will tell what the community as a whole feels, and ultimately the market will vote with its feet.

I don’t think ANet considered any consequence of Megaservers whatsoever beyond “well low-population servers will get more players!!!!!”

• Server communities are getting wrecked. All talk about seeing players from your world/guild… just talk. Doesn’t happen. Just like overflows, megaservers are created by the time you zoned into the map and nothing else matters.
• No way to communicate with players about events that won’t be on the same map. If I wanted to do a world event, I used to be able to go to Lion’s Arch (or Gendarran Fields in the past few weeks) and ask people if they wanted to do it with me, and we could all zone into the map and do the event. If something interesting was happening in WvW during off hours, I could pop into the hub map and get people to come into WvW with me. This is now impossible.
• World bosses other than Tequatl and Wurm are now pointless. You can literally afk while autoattacking, take little to no damage, and be done in less than thirty seconds for almost every world boss.
• Anyone without a high-end PC is screwed because there are constantly stupid numbers of players on the map if anything’s happening.
• All waypoints that can be contested show as contested, forcing either double waypoint fees or frustratingly long walks between areas. You can’t know whether a dungeon is going to be open or not until you reach the map.
• If you’re trying to avoid a player that you’ve been in conflict with, it is now impossible, because servers are meaningless and you could be zoned into a map with that player at any time regardless of server, no matter what time of day.

No one asked for this. No one wanted this. No one is fooled by the PRspeak. Megaservers are trash. Get them out of the game.

when you used to ask people did they want to do anything in LA or GF you used to get someone goin ok now its greifeing now its mostly trolls that go yeah i will etc , for example a dungeon i was at TA and this person said ok trolled a lot and left so half way through a dungeon they left we got chucked out

I started reporting and blocking dozens of players since megaserver went active. I finally just gave up wasting my time with that anymore and have permanently shut my chat off.

Reporting does not really amount to anything at all, despite what some say, as the same players with their sexualized and immature names and highly inappropriate comments and conversations are still around day after day of reporting for months. I don’t expect them to suddenly start actually doing something about these players…or the guild names for that matter…the horrible, horrible guild names with full swear words and of gang kitten and violent “deflowering” and much, much worse. Nothing is done about those. Why must one screenshot the player and their guild name and then come here and file a complaint to support to get the guild name looked at. Why can’t we file an Inappropriate Character Name report in-game and then the person who looks at the report take 2 additional seconds to also look at the guild names this character is in. Or add an Inappropriate Guild Name option to the in-game report?

I do not even know if there is a maximum limit to the block list, but it will not matter as the trolls carry on conversations in /emote knowing full well that blocking them does not block what they say in that. And to even block a person being inappropriate in /emote one must manually enter their name to the contacts list and then report/block them. And with the /emote range being so insanely far, I see inappropriate emote conversations almost no matter where I go in a map. We’ve begged ANet to fix the block function, they refuse to do so.

And that is just chat trolls. This megaserver being forced on all of us has also made my fears realized. One day after it’s forced on us and there is no getting away from other players. There is no peaceful exploring any longer. It is always a dozen players running across your screen at all times.

It only took 2 days of megaserver being live for me to find myself getting trolled by a mob of flamethrower engineers constantly following me around and flaming me and everything else around me. Finally they moved on to trolling someone else and I was relieved…and then I felt bad knowing what that person was then going through.

Yes, trolls are everywhere and unavoidable now, even with chat disabled. I’m not sure if I like the game anymore. The main thing I derived enjoyment from in this game, and was the main reason I enjoyed playing, was taking a pleasant stroll through the woods and mountainside where I could appreciate the sounds, the art, atmosphere… To go on a hike down trails or to simulate camping and surviving in the woods…to hunt for my food. ANet has made it clear that they now seem to want no form of roleplaying to be done or able to be done in their game.

Yes, I’m quite disappointed.

the air the atmosphere is toxic , the comments made the things that are goin on here is wrong they say just block that does not remove anything but there name
they can still stand there in front of you and emote you can still see that even if there on block or not , can still see where you are even if you have blocked them they can still follow you and find you where ever you are

i used to enjoy this game and played it a lot

its become a toxic troll and griefer playground that you no longer wana be near or around it will become silent waste land and no one will talk to anyone

Map chat isn’t as friendly as it used to be on TC, but make sure you’re reporting in addition to blocking. This should help things in the long run.

WHY ANET? My only source of income is gone. Life is not worth living anymore. But seriously, this was not even clear in the patch notes. This patch went ahead without the approval of the community. I’m sure this is devastating to everyone! How can anet change something so drastic and not ask the community how they would feel about the train being removed. I can agree a Little here. I am also playing a low level warrior. I have dropped a banner trying to get it close to where it will benefit as many people around me as Possible… and it can be upsetting to see some Jo Shmo, grab the banner,… and run off with it, because he has personal plans and wants a speed boost to get there as fast as possible.

Asa to elementalist. I used to play a Lightening Hammer elementalist, even with + 10 or whatever charges from a trait, the fact is… you will end up out of charges. Then you look for your other hammer… and some warrior grabs it.

I can see that the summoned weapons are summoned, and have a seperate reality from the summoner… Not Like the guardian sprit weapons… but at the same time….

Warriors that drop banners try to place them where they will benefit them… Not so someone can just grab the banner and run with it.

And it seems to me,…. maybe I am being selfish… but.. who should benefit most from that banner… the warrior that summoned it, and gave up a slot to call it up as needed… or some random by stander that wants a speed boost as he goes from point A ( where the warrior is..) to point B….( where the warrior is not) ?

Suggestion. The warrior that summoned itm, gave up a utility slot for it, and… it has a 2 Minute recharge…. because it is supposed to last a while..what happens when someone grabs the banner and runs off with it? the warrior loses BOTH the use of the banner… and has to wait for a full cool down…

here’s a thought, if someone takes the abnner out of range of the warrior, so he or she gains no benefit from it… 5 seconds later it poofs. and returns so it is again within range of the warrior. After all… why should someone else benefit more than the warrior for a banner that cost the warrior a slot to summon, and Now has NO banner, and 2 minutes til they can summon another?

it takes up a slot and also you still have to wait so the banner of defense you put down is no longer there , then you have no defense , no banner , no protection , waiting long cooldown exactly my point !!

to make them owner bound would give you sufficent use of the banner without someone running off with it and to do what its supposed to i still stand by make them owner bound they are no use like this

ok it has come to my attention that warriors have these banners that anyone can pick up but they are put down there for a reason i think that it would be better for these to be for the owner to use not for some jo shome to just pick it up carry it off and you dont get the boon for it anyway so why use it ?? this is truely the most annoying thing ever !!

warriors put banners down for the group for some idiot to pick it up and walk off with it ??? i can see why most use signets , i was wondering if they could be owners use only so then at least the warrior gets the use out of it they deserve

and the ele’s ice bow and lightening hammer should also be owner there are people being and running round with them when the ele’s dont even have a chance to use it them selves it seems they want it cos ooh loook thats cool when the original owners dont even get a shot at it

am i wrong for wanting there to be this owner bound due to the fact it would make them more use and more warriors will be inclinded to use banners ??? more eles can use and have free reign over there own hammers , ice bow etc

i was wondering does anyone feel this and how annoying it is for someone to take per say your banner of defense when its needed for defense and someone comes along picks it up cos they need it more than most or more than the owner themselves ???

Cute thread I love the creativity. I jsut want the point out what you said about the pleas falling on Deaf ears. Just because you do not LIKE the response does not mean they aren’t listening. They have explained in the other larger thread about why they made the choice to make some of the older pieces tonics. It is a system issue and this was the only way to change some of them over. It was an all or nothing type deal, and they chose to give us everything instead of scrapping the town clothes idea forever. I love how snarky you are in your “Instead of complaining lets just show off” But in almost every post YOU are complaining about the tonics. If you wanna show off your looks that’s fine and great and I think its wonderful, but your snarky comments about the fact that ANet is “Ignoring” you is just silly. They are NOT ignoring, they are standing by their decision.

That doesn’t sound at all like deaf ears. It sounds to be they are listening, they understand and even sympathize. But they obviously have metrics over how many people use vs. don’t use town clothes on a regular basis, and they had to change the system. So they made a decision. It may not be popular, but its theirs. Don’t go on about how they don’t listen when it’s obvious they do. Snarkiness like this is the reason Devs shy away from talking to players. Even when they do, and the explain people still say they don’t listen simply because they don’t agree with what you said. Psh. Grow up. It’s happening, sure its sad, but they didn’t ignore you at all, they answered, many times about why.

I admit that I deviated from the purpose of the thread a couple times when someone asked questions that I felt I needed to respond to. My displeasure is apparent there. But in all of my picture posts I believe I am pointing out what parts are what, and whether they will be able to be reproduced under the new system. I do express my dissatisfaction against tonics at least twice, yes. I dislike the way tonics are handled in this game in general, and don’t think they are an appropriate solution.

I am also not the sort to give up and say “there’s nothing I can do”. That’s what the forums are for… to give people a chance to express their opinions with the devs. I will continue to do so, and I still think this thread is a better way to make them understand how important this is to some people. It is visual, and more positive overall than the main thread.

it seems like you want to express here as there isnt someone answering you and you can go on and on as much as you like but when the devs answer you dont like what they say and dont listen so then you create a new one so to start it up again ?

Yes, many people want a unique look. Many people appreciate a non-armor look for when they are Roleplaying or just messing around in town. Many people get COMPLIMENTS on a neat, unique look. Anyone and everyone can have a Legendary weapon or a Commander’s icon. But not everybody has imagination. (And imagination is cheaper!)

all i will say is they dont owe you or anyone on this thread an explanatation yet they have given you many and you will still not accept that as the person above states just because you do not agree or dont think its right doesnt mean your right
