do most people use team speak or no?
I wasn’t going to reply to your post because some of your requirements do not match my guild. However, you may want to consider 2 guilds rather than one one for casual fun and one for the hardcore stuff you’re looking for. For your casual needs here’s my recruitment thread. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor/NUDE-is-lfm-fun-peeps-to-play-with/first#post6328745
We are a friendly, fun group whom are very loyal to our guild, we have a fully upgraded guild hall and tend to be all adults looking to blow of steam together and have a good time. If interested hit me in game.
Are you in the gates of madness server?
Edit: Nevermind I checked and you arent. Where can i get teamspeak?
(edited by one shot one kill.5734)
Server Type: NA- Gates of Madness. I am a new player and I did not know what this meant when I started the game. Currently I am in GoM and am looking for a guild in this server, but depending on how much it costs and the quality of the guild, I may be willing to change to join one.
Play Type Preference: PvX
Player Style: On a scale of 1-5, 1 being super laid back with little to no requirements and 5 being super hardcore with a TON of requirements to join, I am looking for a guild maybe around a 2 to 3. I like organized guilds who have a strong, loyal community who uphold reasonable standards for the guild and guild members.
Active Time: This is a bit different depending on the day, but I would say around 5-9 Pm CST (I live in kansas). I am currently in college right and the times I am on may fluctuate, but I WILL be on.
Social Preference: As Describe above, I am looking for a bigger guild (more than 100 players preferably) in between “super serious” and “extremely laid back”. One that doesnt force strict requirements of players, is nice, but also is extremely loyal to their guild, organized, and wants to be really good at the game. I am very new to guild wars 2 but plan to play the game for a long time as I really love the game. There will be times where I just want to chill and do some casual PvE or other times I want to do the hardest raids; same goes for pvp.
I am 23 years old, mature, work well in teams, and am willing to get any chat software if needed to talk with mics. I tend to like organized groups due to me being the military, but understand that everyone, including me, have lives outside of the game.
Thanks, now I understand! One last question, is there anywhere I can find out which servers are the most populated?
Go to character selection screen, in your bottom left corner it will tell you what server you are on.
When the game came out we did not have Megaservers, so picking a server meant the only players you would see would be from your server.
Now the only meaning servers have is in relation to WvW, your home world, who you fight for. Although through linkings again servers have lost server identity, it’s just categorizing you to your home world and which side you will fight for in WvW.
Otherwise, it means nothing like the “guest” option.
So if im in one server, and i join a guild from another server (just a hypothetical situation) I can play with them no problems at all, just not in WvW?
Also, do all the servers from one region pertain to that whole region?
Hi, when i was looking up how to join a guild, I was reading the top post that was giving information on how to post. It said that in your posts you should put your server name, so other guilds know what server you are in. I thought servers were just your location, such as eu or u.s, but there were a bunch of names such as “dragonbrand” server or “blackgate server” and I have no idea what that means or which one I am in.
Wow, ekarat literally solved my entire problem. Apparently the Xbox contoller template was made before action camera came out, and because of the action camera, it literally functions just like elder scrolls online does. Wherever my cursor is at, that is where the spell will land. Before, I had to hold down the l button, move the cursor to where I wanted to fire, then fire. On top of this, I have the elite controller so I never have to take my thumbs off the analog sticks. Thanks everyone this made my day!
You’re welcome. May I ask which mod you ended up sticking with — the old pre-action-camera one or a newer one?
I have chosen the newer one, the action camera. the fact that you dont have to hold the “mouse” (i am using an xbox one controller with pinnacle gamer profiler) makes it a million times easier and fixed my entire problem. I am not kidding when it feels like a 3rd person action game using an xbox controller, a million times better than using a keyboard.

Yes there is a mod, I use pinnacle gamer profiler and go to their forums and there are a handful of guild wars 2 contoller templates there, the most popular being toddmd2’s.
I guess if I had to use a mouse I was hoping to find a way to not have to hold down the mouse button to rotate the camera. Also, the amount of buttons us just something I’m not used to. I feel like I have to look down at the keyboard every 2 seconds
Action camera mode is the equivalent of automatically acting as if the mouse button were held down for the purpose of rotating the camera.
does this allow it to actually function like a third person game? for example, normally you could have wasd as forward, strafe left, backward, and strafe right, but you still had to have q and e to turn. do you still need q and e in this scenario?

The only mmo I have ever played on a computer was runescape, many years ago. The gameplay of runescape is much different from guild wars, and is not exactly like your typical mmo. You don’t have to use a million different buttons, you just point and click for virtually everything. Besides runscape, I am completely new to computer mmo’s and havent played them before. I watched reviews on guild wars 2 and out of all the mmo’s ive looked at, this seems to be the one I really want to get into. But heres my problem: I hate using a keyboard and mouse. Having to hold the mouse button down to look around and dealing with all these buttons drives me insane; ive played console games for 18 years and a controller feels much more natural too me. I even went as far as to buy pinnacle gamer profiler, and hook up my xbox one controller (using toddmd2 controller scheme) to my laptop to play like that. After playing for a few days, I have come to the conclusion that it is much better than a standard keyboard, but it just feels kind okittenard, specfically doing AoE attacks with a controller. It doesnt feel the same as how elder scrolls online for xbox one feels with a controller. Now my dilemma is this, and please be open minded to how I feel and my past with games: should I just keep getting used to this xbox controller, or should i buy a mouse with a bunch of extra buttons on it? I was looking at a logitech g600, which would fix half of the problem I have with using a keyboard and mouse right now (the fact i wouldnt have to use to many keyboard buttons). thanks, sorry for the long text.
