Another thing that might be worth mentioning, perhaps in its own thread; is that turning on the spot while wielding a weapon with this face type causes the eyes to go screwy, same with some of the emote animations:

So I’ve been trying to get my main character looking right; but there is something about her face at certain angles that seems ominous or reminiscent of a just turned zombie on the hunt for brains. I think it might be the nose is too far down the face or the mouth is too close to the chin or the chin is not long enough… these things i could adjust. However above all i think perhaps the mouth is too wide, especially when compared to the mouth of the face type that 99.9999% of female asuras are using. If this is the case, I wish to make a request to Anet for more range in the customization options for this face (I currently have the mouth at minimum width). Below are 2 angles where I have no problem then 2 where I think a hard hat is required to view them. Could I please have some suggestion on what i should try with the current customization options or some support in asking Anet for more versatility and range with these options. If however I’am just being super pedantic and you don’t think anything is wrong then perhaps that is what I need to hear (but I swear this face type is way to wide).

How do you cope with latency in hard content?

I noticed a thread in the pvp forums discussing latency which was asking people to use cmd to do a ping test. The highest i saw there was in the low 200ms with most others below 100ms. I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to ping but as far as i’m aware 200ms would indicate every action inputted on my computer, responding to things i’m seeing, will not be registered by the servers until 200 ms later. Would this mean that im also seeing things 200ms late as well?

Anyway. After getting very annoyed at trying to play hard content or anything involving pvp i started looking at ping tests. So i’ve done that cmd method a few times in wvw and and just around pve in general and the result is always like the one in the attachment. I’d like to think that i can attribute some of my incompetency to lag, cause i just can not seem to dodge things consistently no matter how hard i try unless there is some kind of 2-3 second cast time on an attack that is highly telegraphed.

Do i just l2p, avoid hard content, or have people found ways to deal with latency. I want to play the content old friends and guildies are doing like the new fotm 30+ levels or wvw roaming, but i tend to leave said content incredibly frustrated at really how much of a burden i was. Feels like i’ve joined an orchestra with friends but have never been able to move beyond an out of tune triangle.

Just a suggestion for Anet: In a fair amount of the living story content that has been released, you have made it possible to complete dungeon like instances with 1-5 people through scaling in accordance to the number of people present. Would it be possible to apply this to more permanent things like fotm and various dungeons, then also allow that content to be completed client side. Ie without the interaction of servers being necessary ruling out latency. Even some new thing, like an arena of trials (something similar to bloody palace from devil may cry). Would be nice to play the game as it was intended to be experienced rather than in a relatively broken state. OR determine whether im just not good at the game and could then have somewhere to practice with increasing levels of difficulty.

I’m fairly certain this is more of a hardware/latency issue, however, i was wondering how often people have experienced issues like what is shown in the picture. Basically i live in Australia which is probably 50% of the problem, and as late afternoon starts to role in lag related issues really begin to be a pain. Skills will not function correctly as shown with burning speeds entire dmg effect being confined to about a 130 range from where i started it, despite still being moved the full 600 range. I can spam an instant cast skill 3-5 times on my keyboard before it activates. Dodging and jumping appear to be instant response, but considering i can be knocked out of the air during a dodge animation by KD skills i think the actual window of invulnerability is also delayed. I post in the elementalist forum because i’m hoping there are other people who will recognize these issues based on the pictures and maybe have a fix for them, or maybe this is something that occurs for a majority and people have found a way to deal with it on elementalist and still be successful with the class.

Preferably would like to hear from an Australian elementalist player but anyone who has had these issues and been able to fix them would be cool too.

Will also post in technical issues forums. Making the pvp scene and any difficult content horribly annoying. Yet to dodge fire shamans arrow successfully in fotm, yet to dodge any fast telegraphed moves successfully, SAB tribulation mode….. ffffffffkittenuuuuuuuuun.

Dyeable Legendary Weapons

I do like the concept of having the legendary weapons become more customisable in regards to appearance, as i believe it may go someway to reestablishing the grandeur of possessing one. As it stands, to me at least; you walk up to the LA bank and you’ll see 3-4 Twilight’s, few Incinerators a Bifrost here and there and the appeal of a Legendary starts to decline as it looses that uniqueness which I’m sure was the reasoning behind giving it such a difficult process of acquisition. A Legendary is sort of the pinnacle in weapons and as such and as reward for getting one; i think should be made to have a customisable appearance at least in its colour palette (like every bit of armour does does by the way, including the newly released) so that it can be changes to suit you and your preferences. Of course certain aspects would be impossible to allow colour change for (Bifrost rainbow can only really be rainbow colour :\) but you already see this sort of thing with armour where bits of it have set appearances/colour. I think it would be interesting to see an incinerator shoot out a green flame or a bolt project red electricity. I’am in favour of dyeable Legendary.
