PvE:
1. More weapon types (fist weapons, crossbows, land-based spears, etc.) and expanded weapon access for certain classes (my warrior can use a rifle but not a pistol?)
2. More alt-friendly activities; short, maybe even instanced, pieces of solo-friendly content that can be accessed from anywhere and done regardless of character level. Sometimes I’m just not really in the mood to grind out a whole bunch of quests and/or objectives or get my butt kicked in WvW/PvP…Basically short solo-friendly dungeon instances that can scale to any level and are accessible at any time.
3. Ambient/roleplaying actions like more emotes, being able to sit down on benches and chairs, and maybe even instanced personal player housing would be nice additions but their absence isn’t really making or breaking the experience for me at this time.
I miss the lvl 20 level cap; in my opinion it was just right, not so high that it discouraged casual players but still high enough that you couldn’t get to it in a day (unless you really wanted to :P) I dug the philosophy of letting players get to level cap early and then saving roughly 70% of the game for after you got to the level cap.
Customizable classes/dual-classing were pretty cool as well; I miss my warrior/assassin who used his “brass knuckle” skinned daggers and my necro/dervish who could punish foes from afar with death magic and curses or tear through them up close with his scythe.
I also really liked how Anet allowed players who were just interested in PvP to buy the PvP portion of the game at a reduced cost; the PvP scene in GW1 was so robust it really was a whole separate game on its own if you wanted it to be.
I feel the game has a pretty decent class spread as it is but I wouldn’t mind seeing some new weapon types like melee staves, fist weapons/gauntlets (I remember in GW1 there was a brass knuckles skin for daggers which I loved using as my warrior), crossbows, two-handed axes, and maybe even non-aquatic spears (Anet could even have two seperate skill trees for spears: two-handed and dual-wield with a shield).
Duelist and Monk get my votes, I’m always down for a martial arts/unarmed class and I also really like the Duelist/Swashbuckler archetype.
