I know that the explosive traits is not the best, and some of the traits could have a makeover, but at least the bomb/grenade kit work off like the firearms traits.
The gyros even if they are not the best idea in the world, they should at least have some trait synergy, or they could become really useless. A wee bit like the turrets
I’m not going to reroll a class to be able to enjoy a more fleshed out character. And that makes me loose the interest of purchasing the expansion. T-T

I know bombs and grenades are not everything, but the traits really complet each other.
The gyros on the other hand, does not work well with the current traits.
In that we will maybe not use them much in pve or pve. Specially when there are other utility skills that offer so much more.
That is the main reason I have been using my kits more then anything.
The hammer looks good but apart from that. The gyros seems not to be a great idea, and more of a rehashed idea of a last minute of brainstorming.
Been thinking, with the scrapper and even the dragonhunter. Why does some of the traits/skills not work that well with the current trait/skills ?
Hi there o/ my name is Floredel in gw2
I play an engineer on Gunner’s Hold, mainly as pve and wvw, and wanted to post my pve build for those who want a build that is focused around power.
Here is the build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFAUlUUhSuYNVwPLw6FLpF14ckGlR4Lmb12XNEANAA-TJBBwAAeAAE3focZgAXAAA
Here is a other build with flamethrower:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFAUlUUhSuYjXwWLw6FL3F14VciJR4EGQZGYDGhBAA-TJBBwAAeAA12focZgAXAAA
I know that bombs are bugged but i still love them to much to give them up. (cross fingers they get the fix they need)
And turrets might not be the best for pve, but rifle turret has a short cooldown anyway so it’s not to bad.
Rune options:
Rune of strength
Rune of the pack
Rune of the ogre (cheaper option)
Rune of the Flame Legion (cheaper option)
Sigil option:
Sigil of Fire/Air
Sigil of Battle/Strength
Sigil of Force/Night
Sigil of Accuracy
Sigil of Bloodlust
I use Rune of the ogre with Sigil of Accuracy + Night (i tend to run alot of dungeons)
Food buff you can use anything that fits your taste (The pun !!)
i use condition duration and a dungeon specific +damage potion
With all the other classes able to stack might for the group, i wanted to make a build who uses that small fury buff with the Rifle turret to prove some extra damage for the group.
And still be able to do some okay/great damage as an engineer.
Crying over that im not able to see half of my armor skin that i used 800 crystals for.. and even my new hairstyle is back..
A game based on looks, how come the engineer is forced to look at a backpack that also sometimes hides hair styles that others can enjoy, while playing a other class ?
thanks for your nice setup.
At the top you state using all knight armor, later you mention rampager – you use both?
I use rampager armor when useing flamethrower/solo mostly with might stack runes + duelpistol with sigil of earth/strength, and sigil of fire when AOE event farming, with sigil of accuracy.
I use the knight armor with Rune of Altruism when in group for dungeons, with a valkyrie Rifle with strength sigil.
You can even use the berserker armor set with knight jewelry with the flamethrower and bomb kit, power is mostly the best for anything.. just that i tend to lean over to condition with the pistols :P
I use the gear setup, full knight armor and jewelry.
With a Valkyrie Rifle.
Heal/elite/utility skills:
Elixir H
Elixir B/ or S if you want some more defence
Bombkit/ or Toolkit for more defence
Flamethrower
Supply Crate
Traits i’m useing 20/30/0/20/0
Explosives:
Incendiary Powder or Forceful Explosives ( depending on AoE heave fights )
Enhance Performance
Firearms
Sitting duck (when mostly useing Rifle) / Precise Sights (useing Flamethrower)
Go for the eyes (rifle in mind) / Napalm Specialist (Flamethrower in mind)
Juggernaut
Alchemy
Fast-Acting Elixirs
Cleaning Formula 409 (condition heavy fights) / Deadly Mixture (Flamethrower)
You can play around with the traits more, but i use this build with Fotm level +10 without any problems
and use rampager armor when solo farming. does great damage in my eyes without dieing.
Been thinking, and looking at the weapon damage of a shield is lower then a pistol.
And here is the question.
When useing a kit, what does more damage ? Or is it the same ?
Thats one of the main reasons i made a female charr engineer.. love the Shrapnel mine.. 20 sec cooldown and useing condition build with pistol.. and flamethrower.. it just great..
and hidden pistol is also great.. stacks fire and bleed pritty good.. and is a monster when the engineer is powerbased
Does anyone know what dye colours would match the backpack you get from the start.. ?
Regards John
Well i mean the damage and condition time would be the same.. just with more shots..
Lets say each shots does about 150 damage and 2 sec of poison condition time.
out of 5 shots.
But making it 10 shots.
Each shot doing 75 damage and 1 sec poison condition time.
with the same casting time.
Not really reducing the damage in awayway,
also from some 900 range.. it would have a higher chance to hit and from close,
alot more chances to offer some more damage via traits.
Nooo !!!! not a gearscore..
In wow, when it came to pve.. it was only about gearscore and not the player or the one piece of blue he/she had..
If the player was sometimes only 1-10 points under the needed gearscore.. they would not get invited and get replaced with a full epiced player who sometimes did not even have the right enchants and gems
Same goes for the Item level…
It removes the thing that the player making a group for a pve event or raid..
will not look at the gear.. and only number..
I really hate the concept of that..
Been playing engineer for a while now.
The " Poison Dart Volley " skill
Why not make the amount of shots 10 from 5, cast time same amount.
Only damage and poison condition time halved.
That way, Traits like “Incendiary powder” & “Sharpshooter”
Would have a higher chance to proc with the double amount of shots.
Making it like a machinegun effect.
What do you guys think ?
Regards Cathablia
