It’s already been stated by staff that a server’s population is in relation to online population, not accounts on the server.
Dont be so nieve.
Gw2 is a sinking ship.
Almost two full weeks since anet caused this problem. We have had no fix and zero communication. At this point its getting to be a character issue.
So many people including people who allegedly play mesmers who dont know what the issue is.
The berserker has not recieved a damage reduction.
The problem is the berserker is missing attacks on its first pass. Which is being percieved by people who don’t play the class or allegedly play the class as a damage reduction. If allowed to live for 20,30,40 seconds every pass after the first one hits for full damage. IE: first pass = 3k , 2nd 3rd 4th etc pass = 5k damage.
This is a bug that has been introduced with the latest patch which is completely independent of them fixing the LOS bug(being able to cast the beserker without line of sight on the target).
Illusionary Berserker has not received a direct damage decrease. Instead, is seems that the damage reduction you (and I) are seeing is most likely associated this fix:
“Fixed a bug that caused many piercing, boomerang, and bouncing projectiles (those that hit more than 1 target) to continually increase in damage the more targets they hit.”
We are aware that this particular phantasm is now experiencing a significant drop in damage and are looking at getting it back to a more effective state.
Thanks for keeping the post civil and constructive!
-KarlSo an ability that was benefiting from an unintentional bug, which has been fixed, is now going to have its damage adjusted back up? boggle
Really? The issue is the iberserker missing its first attack everytime. Which has nothing to do with them fixing the casting without los bug.
If you read the thread you would know that.
My honest opinion, as cynical as it is, is that anet hopes that if they don’t bother fixing it for long enough we’ll just give up complaining about it, and new mesmers won’t know how horribly broken the skill is to begin with.
I hope this isn’t the case. That would be a character issue on Anet’s part.
What kills me about problems specific to the iberserker at the moment is Anet has the expertise to instantly fix the problem.
Event is a failure by design. Too unstable and too long. A lot of people who put in the effort couldn’t get any reward.
Worst of it is that Anet is actively suppressing any complaints and trying to hide the fact they screwed it up.
Thats ok, the gaming media is starting to take notice and writing blogs about this event and the newly introduced gear treadmill it brings.
Portal should only allow a limited number of players to port. Portaling 100 player zergs needs to stop..

You play this game right? The iberserker’s first attack doesn’t hit at all. The problem has nothing to do with
“Fixed a bug that caused many piercing, boomerang, and bouncing projectiles (those that hit more than 1 target) to continually increase in damage the more targets they hit.”
For god sake.
I’m a software developer by trade, so please just trust me whe I tell you there is no client-side solution that will do what you want. Sure, I could write a program that will scan for known hacks, and then this will be cross-checked against the server for evidence of exploits. Thats easy. Then the exploiters will hide from the scanning techniques used. It isn’t that difficult—if malware can do it, a program legitimately authorized to run on your system can do it far more easily.
Triggering an arms race does not solve the problem.
A quick-and-dirty scan doesn’t either. There might be three well-known hack programs, but how many obscure ones are there? At an old job of mine, my boss tasked an intern with writing a teleport/fly hack for a MMO that he (and most of the development team) played. It took the intern, working alone and in his spare time, one week to complete. It is not difficult to make a new hack program that would fly under the radar.
So if you can’t stop 100% you shouldn’t try to stop any % of hackers? Really?
