(EU reset)
100% pro Friday.
Reset on Saturday evening made Saturday afternoons boring.
My favorite would be 8pm CET (7 pm UTC), for both, summer and winter time.

Me and my guild think that these changes sound pretty good. We’d like to see those ingame.
I’m sure it has been mentioned somewhere: how will camps upgrades work?
We all were btw very positively surprised to see reasonable WvW changes based on community feedback.
Looking forward for this and hope that the issue of Revenant Hammer 2 also gets attention soon.
- How many people are in your guild, and how many of them participate in World vs World?
About 30 people, but it’s only the main guild for about 10, most members have their main focus on WvW, but also do PvE/PvP when they feel like.
90% if not more of the money and materials for the GH upgrade comes from two people, with 3-5 others donating a bit here and there.
- Do you find any of the Auras from claiming essential?
Not essential, but very useful. +5 is really nice to have, but gets less important the bigger the blob is.
- How many World vs World upgrades has your guild earned, what level are they, and how close are they to getting +5 Supply, in particular? Do you feel it is achievable? How much have they spent?
+5 Supply will be available around the 3rd of January, so less than 1 month from now. Currently we got 5 of the auras.
Considering the small size of our guild we’re doing an amazing job, especially compared to bigger guilds.
- How has your guild been obtaining the upgrades? Do you feel that this has taken time away that you would have rather been playing World vs World? Please be specific, such as “I spent 5 hours getting shovels”, etc.
Some members felt forced to start silver wastes just to get those annoying shovels (Terrible design to require them without makeing them tradeable). I’m forced to harvest flax every day and I’m pretty much restricted to the Maguuma reward track in pvp to get coarsed sand. It’s annoying.
But I still play WvW whenever I feel like and don’t abstain from it just to farm PvE. Cba to do this.
- How has the new system impacted you and your guild’s playing experience in World vs World? Would you prefer the new system or the pre-HoT system?
I like the new one more, even if the costs are high.
Haven’t felt that much of an impact so far, maybe this could happen when more guilds got auras and especially tactics availabe.
- If you could change one thing about the Guild upgrade system, what would it be?
Not require any materials that are not tradeable and force players to play certain PvE maps.
I really like the Crystal Arbiter outfit, but I’m definitely not willing to spend 2000 gems on it. I do neither need nor want any of the other stuff in the bundle.
Offering those bundles without the option to buy the items separately is a bad idea and I hope this is not the future way to go.
it’s broken since 17.November.
Reported it mutiple times, but still didn’t get fixed.
Pretty poor imo that a major bug like this does not get any attention. I’ve spent a lot of gold on claiming upgrades and now I cannot use them.
please stop insulting others, Rajel. thanks.
but why would it good if one side can permanently control the complete map?
ok, “home” concept, but would’t it be better to have some more action than one side sitting in fully upgraded stuff all day long?
they have move the WP to the keep yes…. but only for 1 team…….. and at T0 ?
Seriously ? This is completly stupid…. I just don’t understand how they can have think about that….
We asked the WP in the side keep but for all team !!! at T3 !!
Not those stupid WP for 1 team at T0…..How is this possible ?
oh come on.
it’s better than the wp in the towers since it makes the keeps more important again.
and it leaves room for further changes/improvements.
we should play the maps with those changes, see what effects they have and then we can leave feedback if further changes to the waypoints should be done.
just saying: I also think it might be better to have the wp available for all 3 teams. otherwise I don’t want to have my spawn keep (garri if it’s homelands) to be on t3 with wp after a night of enemy nightcapping. would be a pain to get it back.
this design is supposed to help people getting their “spawn” keep and to make it easier to start building up something when you come to the map.

telling people to act “like an adult” vs “you are a troll” and “you keep saying your crap”.
gj, Rajel
saying it again: learn to accept other peoples opinion. you are noone special and everyones opinion has the same worth than yours.
this patch was a very good first step to increase the quality of play on the new borderlands. surprised in a positive way.
but I think they could have announced things like the waypoint change or the daily fix here in the forum, would certainly have clamed down some heated minds.
I’ve posted something similar about a week ago
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Proposal-A-system-for-WvW-reward-tracks
Stop being an Anet apologist when you know they give absolutely no attention to the gamemode, contrary to what was stated before. blablablablabla players? I’d put money on it being the same people entire night, because they knew that if they went to another border they’d be met with lag and PvE.
Also the design of the new map is completely alien. Previously taking towers had tactical advantages, because you could pressure major objectives from them.
Auto-upgrade just encourages people to leave the objectives and log off. Knowing they’d be upgraded anyway. The entirety of the map was casualised.
Face it.
It’s a minigame to them. And the only reason to play Gw2 for us.
You got your opinion, I got mine.
It’s ridiculous how you try to find something negative even in 700 kills at one evening. I’m still having fun in WvW and get my part of the action.
Yes, there is quite a lot room for more activity and the communication is awful, respectively non-existent, but I resist to go full rage mode and insult the devs wherever I can like some people do, that would just be unmature and not help at all.
Well let me explain you the situation, because you really show lack of knowledge.
Since HoT realease we played in t2/t3 and now t4, do you know the difference between t2 and t4? There is no difference! WvW is dead anyway just read the thousands reply in this forum and you will see that is not related to t4 , even tho AG got a lot of guilds so I don’t really know what you are talking about.
Maybe it’s time for you to look the situation in a neutral way, instead to read just the name of people, but I guess you are a dude with 0 knowledge of the game.
Thanks for a great example of your “every opinion but mine is invalid and everyone who doesn’t agree is stupid” attitude.
If you can’t respect the opinion of someone of whom you think is a noname: This “dude with 0 knowledge” plays WvW almost since release, has 240k kills and played ~1,5 years in one of the most hardcore EU WvW/GvG guilds.
I played at least as much in EU kitten as you did, so I know exactly what I’m talking about. I made 700 kills this reset, 800 the reset before in t4/t3. There was pretty good action during prime time the whole last week. I constantly see players coming back to WvW from PvE over the last two weeks. WvW being dead might be your personal opinion and point of view and even if many posts on a forum might agree with you, it is not the opinion that everyone has.
Matchups with Augury Rock always had a lack of action on some day. There won’t be 1000 people per server appear out of nowhere if you bring back some old maps, that we already played for three years.
Stop dreaming of the “good old days” and don’t wait for miracles.

You’re matchup is Aurora Glade and Augury Rock. Do you really think there would be more activity with different maps?
If you do so, then you have completely wrong expectations. You are no longer in t1 or t2. Activity in such matchups have been like this at least since the end of season two.
Welcome to t4, Rajel.
Maybe it’s time for your server to start doing some ppt again. But I guess you and your guild rather go the easy way and transfer back to a t1/t2 server.

good point.
I think the system needs to inclue something that makes it rewarding to be “better” (here: have a higher tick) than the other servers. But everyone knows that sometimes you’re just desparately outnumbered with no chance.
Problem with making it map based would be that 80% the borderlands are pretty empty and almost completely dyed in the color of the home team.
Another option that I thought of was making it “Tick of 100 = t1 reward, Tick of 200 = t2 reward, Tick of 300 = t3 reward” (capped at t3).
However I thought that sometimes you cannot even reach 100 and the system in my opening post would at least grant you a guaranteed t1 reward.
The difference between t1 and t3 would require some very sensitive balancing so that it doesn’t promote bandwagoning but still makes it worth fighting for.
TL;DR: A system similar to PvE and PvP where a combination of your servers tick and personal participation gives you regular progress to WvW Reward tracks.
As most of us agree, WvW rewards are currently in a terrible state. For those who don’t believe it I recommend playing 3 hours of WvW, after it go to Silverwastes for 30 minutes and then compare what you get.
Thing is that WvW rewards need to be not abuseable, this leads me to my proposal.
My idea is to combine two systems that are already in the game and combine them for WvW rewards: HoT meta event rewards and PvP reward tracks.
It’s kinda simple:
As in PvE you have two bars: One for your personal participation (Let’s say 1 event counts 30 minutes towards that, events that include defending something 60 minutes) and the other bar for the “meta” event. As “meta” event we use something that makes it necessary for players to compete with each other: the tick. As result of this rewards are given every tick (= every 15 minutes).
Three types of rewards here, highest reward for the highest tick, medium for the 2nd best tick, lowest reward for the lowest tick. These however need to be balanced well enough for encouraging the competition but not giving a too huge disadvantage to weaker coverage.
So for example when a tick ends you get 80% (personal participation) of the reward for the lowest tick.
What can this reward be?
Here we use the second system I mentioned above: Reward tracks.
This allows as in PvP a wide variety of possible rewards and to make the rewards more individual. Examples for reward tracks could be a blueprint track, a melee food track, a ranged food track, tracks for skins, special finishers or stuff from pve maps (so we don’t have to farm Silverwastes for shovels and sand for example).
For every tick you get progress towards your reward track based on – as mentioned above – personal participation and tick quality.
Issues:
- This kinda forces people to ppt for progressing their reward tracks, but not everyone likes ppt:
Solution for this could be to rework the rank up chests. Killing people gives WXP -> rank up chests. Insted of the current 2 green items, proofs of heroics and 20s, rank up chests could reward 20s, proofs of heroics, a reward track progress tonic (as for pvp dailies) and the current chance of 0,1% for an exotic or ascended as additional reward.
- This favors strong nightcapping servers, they will get max rewards for hours:
This is true, but those players have fewer enemies so less fights (-> less fun) and less loot bags.
- Rewards for winning the matchup are still somewhere between poor and non-existent:
True, maybe this could be used to adress this as well.
Conclusion:
I’m sure a system like this could significantly improve the current situation, seems to be kind of fair and gives a lot of room to bring the rewards for playing WvW more in line with the quality of rewards in PvP and PvE.
However as for every WvW reward system it needs careful balancing to avoid favoring dominant servers too much and not to lead to WvW becoming just a farm spot. It has to be interesting enough to care about it, but cannot be unfair.
Thoughts?

Please lower the cap again.
I’ve got the worst skill lag since months in fights. It’s absolutely unplayable on EB (dunno about other maps) in our Piken matchups this week as well as last week after the update.
Also having 10 players more on tag makes full zone blobs even worse and more annoying to fight, even if there would be no lag.
Queues weren’t that bad anyways lately, cause it’s summer and not that many people are playing so decreasing the cap again wouldn’t be that much of a problem for ~90% of all servers.
