That’s what I’m using, but in PvE perspective I’d be interested in

1) Rune choices, been thinking Scholar or Eagle for example.

2) Specific trait setup (mainly wondering between Near to Death vs. Vital Persistence or even Soul Marks for imba DS regen, I really like having staff as fallback and condi transfer since I do a good bit of harder dungeons).

3) People’s ideas of those 10 points

So I just took this 30/10/0/0/30 build to Arah p3 with 2 wells and necro grasp and I like it very much. Solid life force regen and hard hitting 1200 range attacks made Lupicus and other encounters a breeze, even in full zerker gear.

I’m quite happy how Necro is now after the patch, and with Warrior nerfs I don’t think people will mind having us in speedrun parties any longer, either!

ps. I was using Axe+Focus / Staff.

Woody: Yeah, upon reading a bit further I realized that and facepalmed hard, that Grandmaster trait is pretty kitten awesome. I’ll swap and test!

So Axe+Focus and Nothing+Dagger? I could give it a test I guess.

Also, do people generally take the reduced DS cooldown or reduced Lifeforce decay?

Since of the changes now and the fact that you can get ground targeted wells with 10 points in Curses, what do you guys reckon is the best dungeon-zerker build for a Necro?

I’m thinking of going 30/15/0/0/25 Axe\Focus + Staff (or instead of staff, Dagger\Focus, I just love the marks, condimove and fear too much to give it up I think).

Basicly try to keep myself at 50%+ life force using Axe 2nd skill every CD while swapping on and off from Shroud to get the 5 second fury to throw a few Life Blasts.

I’d like some build tips\links, I currently have a Warrior, Ele & Guardian which I use Berserker gear with so I’m used to running full glass cannon and don’t down that often with em.

I’ve only played my necro as Condi ever, and have no clue about how to go about power builds & weapon sets, tho I think D+D\Staff or D+F\Staff could work?

I found Clott’s Daggermancer build the closest full glass cannon Necromancer build out there, but it’s some months old and looking for Necro builds via google I just didn’t find anything as popular as I’ve found for other classes, so experienced PvE necros please help a fellow out: links \ builds with explanations for a power-necro.

On my home server SFR, and on two different questing servers Rankor Ruins is void of mobs so completing the heart takes approximately 30-60min (pick up very scarce items and return to crates) instead of usual killing mobs and doing events.

On each of the 3 servers, the “Protect krewe Leader Dobbs” event has gotten stuck in the same point and I guess this might be related to the disappearance of hostile npcs.

Thread necromancy at it’s finest but I just felt the urge to point out that MOST cat’s behind looks just like that. It’s not poopy, it’s just the way it is (dare you to google cat butthole) :P

I did Grenth yesterday as an Elementalist and honestly it wasn’t too bad. Jonez part was the easiest imo, the black hard hitters were the phase there were most downed people. After succeeding with the Event, the giant spiders took a good while to down (their HP should be lower since no reward imo).

How to protect Jonez:

  • Stay back, stay grouped and most impotantly, in front of Jonez
  • I used the Earth AoE knockdown every time when the mobs spawned, then swapping to lightning hammer to apply AoE blind and stun field

For me it seemed that control is the key, not zerker dps.

edit: A funny thought just hit me while I was doing Flame Elem. a few days ago, I said to my friend “It’s kinda sad this is this easy now, I remember during the beta and after launch, having tons of players here wiping while struggling to stay alive, felt like a real achievement to down the guy.”

Fighting Temples in Orr postpatch is actually interesting now, personally I feel the difficulty is spot on.

'Lost & Found' Problems

I’ve scoured Wayfarer back and forth with and without a map http://i.imgur.com/yqaSb85.jpg for 3 hours now, missing and being unable to find the last item, ship in a bottle.

I’m starting to think this might be bugged?

The general progress is good, but I think they should do a bit more testing before rolling out fixes.

I thought it was just me, but there’s been something odd happening with map loading times, for what I can remember, for about a week. About the same time as the loadscreen stuck bug appeared. Also the model viewer is slower than before as well, I used to get both open near instantly.

1) Generally loading times have been getting longer
2) Models load up extremely slow when opening character panel / preview panel

Now I used to have about 5 sec normal map load times, about 10 seconds for Mists or Cities. The loadtimes have effectively at least doubled.

I’ve been asking around and all of my guildies also said they noticed longer load times.

I have the game installed on a few month old SSD and also have Junctioned my “My Documents” to the SSD so there should be no reads from slower drives to cause this.

Any update from ANet considering Plague Signet? Even tho it’s still a powerful signet, I feel like running a Support-Elementalist is currently more viable than using Necromancer for the Condition control, as the main tool for it is so broken.

Whatever the case, I wish that you will get the condition blocking functional for allies nearby me, and if it ends up being too powerful, perhaps tweak the send-conditions part of the skill.

All this bickering aside, I’m from Desolation and played some nighttime on the weekend on our own BG. It was a blast, but I saw one big theme that basicly puts as miles behind FS and VS so far:

No response from pug. None whatsovever. Many times we have few smart players calling in /map about what’s happening, and taking the time to travel all across the map to see that there’d still be time to defend the objective, but there’s like 30vs5 offense happening.

I’m hoping once casual get bored of WvW the organized teams will have an easier time to queue. I also believe that there are some sort of queue helpers in place for more experienced WvW players as my friends queued nearly 10 minutes after me (a newbie) and got in about 20 minutes sooner. They should make it even stricter, that way mainly WvW playing players would be there contributing instead of randoms running around.
