I just created a new character and once the intro video had finished, I was surprised to see two daily login chests dangling in the bottom right corner.
One of them was the normal daily chest my account should receive today (#6). Nothing wrong with this one.
I have no idea why I got the other one. It was the day #1 chest, so that’s not even the current one. My character was just created so it definitely wasn’t the chest from five days ago. Opening this #1 chest didn’t reset my login calendar to day #1, nor did it advance it to day #7.
I think it might have something to do with the fact that I entered the character creation before the daily reset and exited if after the reset. Of course this still doesn’t explain why I got another chest even though I had already opened yesterday’s on another character. Nor does it explain why it was the day #1 chest.
I forgot to make a screenshot of the two chests but I have one of the game messages. The Bag of Experience is granted by the #6 chest, the Bag of Mystic Coins by the #1 chest. The pieces of ambrite in the game log obviously are from another character’s game log shortly before I entered character creation. Uploaded on imgur because .bmp images aren’t accepted here. http://imgur.com/XH6lh8w,cNbZgtx#0
Are you SURE you spoke ot the “Black Lion Trader (Armorsmith)” and received town clothing from him on the character you had the cap on? I’d advise you to check this once more on all characters.
This worked without any issues for me. I got my GW2 hat and shirt as well as the Devil Horns and a thousand or so Townclothes Tonics by just talking to that guy when the Feature Pack #1 hit.
Hi there. About half an hour ago I encountered a strange texture bug and eventually “fixed” it by closing the game client. The bug appeared after I had started up GW1 in the background (wanted to check on birthday presents) and, while GW1 was still running, switched characters in GW2. I’m not sure how that would lead to this (perhaps it didn’t) but nevermind. In addition, I have GW2 running through ICM although I don’t think this had anything to do with it.
As for the bug itself, some of my textures seemed missing and instead I had placeholders. I have only once encountered something similar, that was while running GW2 through wine (which is obviously not supported, so I wasn’t surprised about it there but this time it occurred in Windows 8.1). I’ll let the screenshots speak for themselves.

Sometimes, empty chat messages appear seemingly random in my chat window. Below is a screenshot I made just before posting this topic. This appeared in Riverside [DE]’s Bloodtide Coast, if that helps (and therefore, the timestamps are GMT+2).
I assume that this is either a NPC’s text being set incorrectly or perhaps some player using chat codes (such as the ones where they post coloured item links with changed text, e.g. for guild recruiting).
Are you sure they didn’t break through some wall?
I actually wanted to word the title differently, but chose the current version because of the character limit. Thanks for testing this
This also happened to me today. Once when I killed a centaur in Harathi Hinterlands, and once when I killed a spider in Gendarran Fields. I didn’t level up on either occasion.
I suspect it could be loot that has already been added to the loot tables, but hasn’t been enabled yet.
I tried a 15/0/25/30/0 build today using Axe/Shield and Rifle. I’m sure it can still be improved, but it worked quite well for a first attempt.
I get to ~3k in both the Attack and Armour stats and >25k health (not sure about the exact number) without any additional buffs. Bloodlust and sharpening stones can increase your power even further, but unfortunately this build doesn’t contain any Might. You also get a passive regeneration based on your adrenaline, remove conditions when using burst skills (don’t do this if you’re blinded) and you can either make your shouts heal or make your banners give regeneration, depending on which you want to play with.
The wiki page gives quite a few suggestions for this. If all else fails, try out all the patterns at the bottom of the page.

There’s nothing wrong with the small laser being faster than the big one. The only thing annoying with this encounter is the pulling and pushing done by the golems, and I’d agree that this should be nerfed a bit (perhaps make their moves have a longer cooldown).
I also think that the final boss (forgot the woman’s name) should deal a bit less damage. Other than that, I think everything’s alright. It’s a dungeon that’s supposed to be difficult. It currently is, and with the (very minor) changes I suggested it would still be a challenging encounter.
The second trait in the Tactics line, Empower Allies, was buffed from giving 70 power to giving 150 power in the last update. At least that’s what the update notes and the ingame description in the trait selection screen say.
However, the actual buff applied by the trait to yourself and allies still says it gives 70 power. I’m not sure if the buff applies 70 or 150 power, but at the very least the buff’s description hasn’t been updated but should be.
This isn’t entirely related, but I really hope you yell out “Citizen!” whenever your devourer does something he shouldn’t.
I think a solution would be to just add the minimap, but have a completely black (white, transparent, etc, whatever works best) image as the area’s map. This way, the minimap won’t give you any information about the surrounding area, but you would still be able to see the clock and the direction in which your teammates are located.
It should be noted that you can still get Priory (or Vigil) gear for your asura through transmutation, if that’s what you’re looking for.
Also, I (and I am sure many others) would love being able to replay our personal story. Not to redo it, but just to play it once again (without being able to change anything: if I joined the Vigil, I will only be able to play that storyline). The ability to redo content over and over again (well, except for quests) was a great feature in the original Guild Wars series.
There actually already is a response from ArenaNet, just not in this thread:

Also, from what I’ve heard, re-connecting to your group’s instance actually works in other dungeons. It probably only doesn’t work here because the mini-dungeon you enter is chosen at random. I suppose an NPC that ports you to the rest of your party might work.
1. 17, male
2. In most games (= excluding games I only play because of the gameplay, e.g. Super Mario), the story is one of the most important aspects for me.
3. Depends on the game and story, but usually it’s about the individual character(s).
4. I do identify myself with them in some way. For example, in Pokémon games, I find it very easy to think of myself as the main character. In other games, such as GW2, especially when I have multiple characters, I’d go with the second option but like to emphasize with them.
5. I see it as something I determine myself, and if the game story does something I don’t like, I do my best to try and ignore it
6. Again, it depends on the game. I’m not too sure about GW2 yet, but at least in GW, my character’s goals included finishing the storyline, but didn’t end there.
7. I find that in both GW and GW2, the story fits very well into the rest of the game. Don’t know about other MMOs though, I only played WoW for about a month in which I actually didn’t notice much story.
8. I don’t feel negatively about it.
9. The lore often is more impressive and/or more important. However, keep in mind that personal story eventually will turn into lore (such as the WiK story quests now are lore almost 250 years later).
They used to have to pull minions out of an existing corpse, right? But now they seem to assemble their weird little pink booger monsters out of pure occult force? Is that an actual lore thing, or just a gameplay shortcut and we should assume there are always just convenient cadavers in the soil wherever you choose to pop your monsters?
I’m pretty sure it’s just for gameplay purposes. Playing with two minion masters in a party back in Guild Wars was difficult, but managable. Now imagine 5+ minion masters who ended up in the same place just because they want to do that one renown heart.
Also, as to my characters: Most of them died sometime after the events of GW Beyond and their bodies were either sealed or incarnated.
My ranger actually died in the two year span after the searing, was reanimated, and a long time later “died” under the growing pale tree. He can’t be corrupted by Zhaitan anymore because he already was an undead to begin with and we all know that you can’t summon minions from Krytan undead.
My necromancer lead the battle against Zhaitan’s forces (hey, he’s a necromancer, he can live that long) and, when it became clear to that the battle was lost, burnt everything down (was a little bit insane).

Same story, only that it’s pretty frequent game crashes for me (probably because of kitten Windows Vista).
It’s annoying to have your game crash at the legendary charr shaman boss, but I realize that that’s nothing ArenaNet can fix. However, it is even more annoying not to be able to reconnect to that dungeon after I completed most of it!
