To be honest, the wrong people seem to be getting up in arms here. I enjoy fighting NoQQ and LARP and I have no ill will toward them. Only respect. I believe they are highly skilled players. Each of the elite guilds has their own play-style at which they accel at. Just because someone isn’t the best at 1v1 or defending against a 10-man blitzkrieg doesn’t mean they don’t have a place here to be considered “good”. Some people are specialized to synergize with groups much like Revcornelis has said. I can’t tell you how difficult it is for the average guild to synergize properly with their fellow gorupmates and having team players on your side is critical. ENVY is a small group of guys who excel at 1v1 and small-group attrition warfare that is set up to battle zergs. I feel LARP is similar in this respect. LARP and a few members of WAR have been the only ones to participate in friendly 1v1 with us for fun and that was great. NoQQ is amazing at small/medium-scale guerrilla warfare and I’m commonly quoted as saying “Don’t even bother trying to split them up, they run as a tight knit group too well for that”. NoQQ is also the only group i’ve seen that knows to flank properly.
Personally, I only have animosity towards bro’ish guilds like PRO because i find their name to be highly ironic. But then again, zerg guilds too have a place i guess.
My strength lies in my guardian, but let me say that anyone that thinks being good at mesmer is easy is dead wrong. Many people just dont want to put the mental effort into tracking the mesmer much as people do the same for thieves. Sorry if beating a skilled player takes mental effort my friend.

Thanks Willow and yes, it is more effort to beat them. They are one of the best dueling / 1v1 classes in game along side D/D Bunker Elementalists. I feel badly for most of the other classes and specs when compared to them.
Also, this game isn’t very well balanced for 1v1. It’s very much like DAOC in the respect. So all the chest thumping and beating when playing one is kinda lawl, honestly. Great player + great class = win. Did anyone expect otherwise?

I didn’t say the argument wasn’t a valid one. I said it means I don’t have to listen to a single thing you have to say, because it’s all an opinion. You’ve never run from us, because you’re always in a group (well, excepting running TO the group) that way outnumbers us. That doesn’t mean we haven’t killed some of you on your way away from us. I’ve also never had a problem with mesmers rendering, especially ones like mine that don’t stealth much, and thieves can be targeted with tab even before they fully render.
Away from you? The only time we have run from you is when you are legendary guard humping. Grats on snaring someone in the back and trying to kill them.

I readily admit that at times Dred may (multiply a few numbers) for entertainment purposes lol
But last night around 10pm EST there were around 30 or so Kains between wood and garrison. DR had about that many as well.
Kain had taken Wood (and most of the rest of DR BL) and was attacking our Garrison as well.
Not saying you were there, but there were several NOQQ there. It was an awesome 30 minute battle. We had the advantage and probably won because we spawned much closer to the battle.
As for top 10 on 10, I would not qualify, but you tell your number 41 ranked player I am waiting any time
Sorry Spacelord, Dred was talking about some pitched fights we had around 12:30 – 1:00 a.m. EST where we were zerged.
That fight at Wood was fun, but our communication broke down and we lost some folks early on, but was still a great fight. You guys really brought it and took the tower!
We moved south to Briar after that and had some killer fights and managed to hold it for an hour or so. By then our people had logged and we were down to around 7 or 8 total (a few came and went) and PRO started running in force.

Great night in WvW for a little group of PRO and 2-3 randoms. We rolled over to Ferg, ninja’d Hills and took supply camps and got ready for the fight we knew was coming. Its what we was there for. Quite a few skirmishes over camps but eventually Ferg pulled a zerg together and threw it at the Hills. By this time, we’d had siege in place and a few supplies for emergency repairs. We managed to push the zergs off 3 times. One notable moment was someone in chat going “Incoming golems, 3 of em!” We manned the catapults and blasted those 3 golems to shreds before they got anywhere near the gate. After that crushing defeat….the enemy faded for so long we got bored and went to roaming the map. I so love Ferg folks! You guys can field some impressive numbers late night. I think the only thing that held us up was the fact that a lot of Fergs we ran into were upgraded 80s. But that didnt stop you cuz you took as much ground as you gave. (props to you!) At one point a Kaineng zerg (NoQQ) landed on the map, it broke like waves on rocks in skirmishes of equal number. Looked to be a karma train as they took quick nodes then moved on to another map. Although they did stick around and zerg gank anyone caught out in the open. (i got a golem planted on me…rofl)
Action died down for couple hours to nothing more than a few of us that was still online and a few Fergs. We’d skirmish across the map taking/giving, but overall having fun. I was in whisper chats with several Fergs the whole time. Was great!
Eventually our numbers dwindled to a small handful and NP got online. We didnt have enough folks to man the siege we’d set up at the Hills and repair the gates. Took a bit but eventually they broke through and took the Hills back. Sorry we didnt offer more resistance, but the best pieces of siege we’d set up despawned (arg, fix this Anet!) and we just didnt have enough to put up a decent defense. All in all, was a great night in Wv3.

Fun for all, got some loot bags, gave up a few. Props to all the Fergs/Kain that was in Fergs BL.
We didn’t “break” against anything. The 7 of us were slowly pushed back in the 4 or 5 engagements by 15 ish PRO on a few occasions and you eventually killed most of us. One time was at Sunnyhill with guards on us as well. Grats!

Idea: stop camping it by all servers. It’s already a pain if you know what your doing and seemingly impossible if you dont. Lets call a truce and let that be the one neutral areas on the maps, eh?
Not trying to start yet more BS, but we don’t camp puzzles. In fact we rarely even do them. The few times we did, we killed the campers and left.

It would be nice to see WvW titles and perhaps abilities or minor character customization after 80 added. Game sorely needs this, i.e. something to work for.

It’s a simple as this, you guys run a 1 – 5 man mesmer and thief heavy gank group looking for small fights. You enjoy that and that’s great. We enjoy running a coordinated zerg busting group.
If you want to fight us, get more people and stand your ground. If you win, great. You are good at a video game.

Funny, PRO had been owning NoQQ all day anytime you went after anything worth taking. As NoQQs zerg was made up mostly of thieves and mesmers, all you guys could manage was to ambush players by spam using the known invis rendering bug. Myself i found it funny anyone would resort to such lame tactics. But hey, if you cant take control of the map guess just do what u can. Oh, kwayzeee and will from PRO were the 2 that led bout 8 others in owning you anytime you went after anything worth taking. Sorry the rendering bug dont work for sieges.
Fun fights though, myself i laughed when you all showed up,mass invis or portal bug. And if you didnt get us all youd run for cooldowns to reset. Fun fights overall and enjoy the bug, when its fixed im sure you’ll roll other classes lol.

Gotta give it to you Fergs and Kains, this alliance you guys have going on makes for one tough fight. Haven’t seen a single drop of red in Kaineng Borderlands, and vice versa, so well played on successfully creating a server alliance, color me impressed. (this isn’t sarcasm, mind you, I am genuinely impressed). (And don’t feed me the “we aren’t trying it” thing, I’m an observant man xD ) Particular props to iSpy, you guys give a good fight everytime I see you guys. And we met in battle MANY time over the last 24 hours :p
I will say this: you won’t break us. We’ll fight on! Even with being spread so thin in our own borderlands, and with very little leadership stepping up to lead our ragtag groups, we’ll keep going on! Morale is low in DR today, but you can count on the fact that when backed into a corner, we’ll fight like vicious animals!
Have to say though, with all this crazy flaming going on in this thread, I must be one person that is genuinely just happy to see a kitten good fight! See you all on the battlefield!
News to me as well. AP and RUNN spent all night last night in Ferg’s BL until we moved to EB to defend a supply camp for a few hours. We fought Ferg there as well until the 7 of us were over run. As you say though, perception is a funny thing, etc.

I agree with the fact that DR has come together much more so in the last week, but(and it could just be because of the lead) on the majority of maps ive been on throught the week, when i log on we’re outnumbered by DR until we start taking keeps and towers and they leave the map for another. You simply can’t get a +605 lead by good strategy on equal numbers, that requires a large force on the majority of the battlegrounds.
Looking forward to this week, as there truly is no more halloween events.. we’ll see how it turns out.
Oh and Props to RUNN and AP as well as Cindros and his guild for dominating out there as well.
