You know what? make your password be something like:

=1; drop all tables --
lol, some places will love your password.

Clever, but most organisations with a decent web dev team will enforce form validation and include a web app firewall to prevent SQL commands in submit forms :p

(i remember a chap who had a number plate on his car as a SQL drop table command which wiped the ANPR database at a fuel station)

+1 for KeePass, works flawlessly but as with everything you need to ensure you’re vigilant with the password. Personally i have an intensely complex password as my master password, and a keyfile which is stored on a password protected AES256 encrypted USB stick.

I only use KeePass for passwords i don’t regularly use as luckily i can remember most of mine.

Personally, one or two yes – but not the degree where it becomes a second job. (I’m looking at you WoW)

But i don’t think GuildWars 2 and its community are built to work on that sort of model.

People playing Guild Wars 2 are more…. ‘fluffy’ and would prefer jumping up cliffs for 100% map completion or inventing some crazy dye combination to look snazzy then have raids or things like that.

Not a complaint- i think Guild Wars has built a great community on those values and although we do have world events which is a close relation to raiding, the rewards are terrible, requires little communication/tactics relative to other games raiding content and is generally taken part in as a quick 5 minute job.

Lets not forget. Guild Wars was created with PVP in mind. Although i find that hard to believe in GW2 with the removal of HoH and actual Guild Wars. (WPVP doesn’t count before someone gets in there with that quip)

I’m sorry to say buts it’s the absolute worst.

Where does it pull its indexed words from?

I’m trying to search for “Hammer Guardian” in the dungeon forum and apparently there are no results.

I go into one topic manually that may contain what i’m looking for and what do you know, plenty of hits for those two words. I would accept that maybe it can’t string the words together for a group search but even searching “Hammer” yielded no results.

Actually, if you look at the Dev Tracker the community folks have been around like always.

People want acknowledgement directly these days. It is the ‘all about me’ attitude.

It’s nothing to do with ‘all about me’. It’s about acknowledgement in general to the community.

People are asking question’s about something that should be the responsibility of the community managers to alleviate the pressure and give an answer, even if it “The dev team are incredibly busy with xxxxx” not allow it to get to 200+ replies before a Director steps in and gives an answer.

It’s been a solid business process for decades to give an update/answer even if it doesn’t instantly resolve the issue.

I don’t expect every single thread to have an official reply however it’s not difficult to spot trends in the forum threads to what the majority of people are getting irate about – if these are addressed it will at least calm the masses.

You did however skip over a rather important part of his post. Specifically the one in bold here:

Hi,
The CDI is not Kaput at all. I have just been extremely busy like the rest of the team and as I have said before there is absolutely no point in doing a CDI if we cannot contribute properly to it.
A new CDI will be coming shortly! Thanks for your patience.
Chris

Which very much tells us why they are currently not active on the forums.

Then why don’t they take a page from Blizzard and many other game developers books and hire a team whose sole responsibility it is to manage and maintain the community and voice the current actions of the rest of the Anet team, even if it is to state they are incredibly busy.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen someone with a title along those lines but they seem to be no-where at the moment.

I hate to break it to you guys but you will NEVER see high risk/high reward content in GW2. Ever.
The gemstore forbids it.
GW2 has to maintain the fact that in order to get the cosmetic endgame gear you either have to grind or pay real cash, not be skilled.
It will never happen.

/thread.

Sadly I think this May ring true with the current ideology of the game. Micro transactions are always going it dominate over hard work and skill. It was a fools hope to think that Anet would 1. Embrace players that have been loyal for years and b. offer somewhere that skill and determination rules over who earns the most salary and c. Listen to what players would like to see more of.
Especially after all the complaints I’ve read over there being little to none endgame content for PvE. I appreciate this is a pvp dominated game however one or two dungeons that get in the way of no-one won’t harm the game nor the people who have no interest in them.

Thanks for the input guys and girls, perhaps a mod/dev will read this and put the idea forward in the next meeting

I definitely don’t want them to recreate either of them as you said, it will be a comparison game and will most likely end up with GW2 losing.

What i mean’t was recreating the idea behind having 1-3 ‘elite’ dungeons, where the difficulty is hard, not just by increasing the damage of everything but by making it genuinely challenging through other methods.
The rewards for said dungeons would be great however, to make us feel like all the frustration, swearing and rage quitting is worth the reward instead of a bag of crappy blue items.

I’m happy to see this has such positive feedback.

The size of Underworld and FoW was a major plus as once you got past the initial archer chaos you were free to roam into other zones, such as that blasted forest which, i admit was frustrating as you needed to be putting 100% in all the time, was fun as it was a challenge.

I appreciate the lore around those particular instances may have passed, but something along that line of challenge, perhaps a dragon based realm or something. [Please not centaur. I cant handle any more centaurs]

I know Anet are trying to “casualise” everything about this game but they could put a few in which are optional, IE they aren’t required to gain any major benefits over other players to avoid people coming out with “I don’t have time to do these instances to keep up with everything!”

Not the server, the old GW1 dungeon.

What happened in the transition from GW1 to GW2 where things like this were lost?

Arah and its partners don’t really match up to the difficulty that FoW was within the first couple of years of GuildWars life. I personally used to love running FoW either the first section solo as W/Mo or with a Necro buddy or even trying to whole lot as a group, and generally failing.

Why has there not been a dungeon created like this that has very high difficulty however the rewards were generally very high aswell. Many people will remember that Ecto globs were not cheap by any margin nor were gold chaos axes and other items in that category.

Now the best we get is a bag full of tokens we can spend on gear that looks the same as every other gumbo.

Worth it? I know in this particular game it’s maybe not essential due to the guesting feature but I think it would be a nice touch for people to get involved and chat with other members of their server community.

I find this interesting myself as my server (Blacktide) was High popularity when I chose it but now sits on medium however I actually find it difficult to socialise with people as there aren’t any around. The simple answer to this is that they are loitering in level 80 areas which is great for everyone except those in the 1-70/75 range.

I would like to see what’s occurring on my server in particular, organise server events, see which guilds are about and get a feel for the characters on the server.

What are your opinions?

Hi,

Basically i’m confused.

Having played MMO’s rather alot and understanding the concept of builds/weapons/armour/stats etc, i thought i would of got to grips with this by now but this game i just can’t seem to get my head around for builds.

Could anyone point me in the right direction? I’ve read the stickies, and various other posts in the last 4 pages (anything after that i deem moot as patches overtake advise from 5+ months ago).

I’m not after “teh best dps build” but just some of the more popular builds, the ones that the majority are using and getting along fine with. I would like a DPS and a “support” build, by that i mean a MH/OH combo which provides less DPS but more utility.

What are your opinions on weapons? I understand GS is the standard DPS weapon of choice but what about MH/OH? I’m currently using mace/shield however have seen sword/focus/torch used rather alot.

Thanks in advance!

Black Lion Trading - Filter on Armour Type

Not sure i get this. There is already a way to filter it:
I select Armor, then select the type of it: Helm, Shoulders etc…
The only ones you can’t use are the kind that are tied to heavy armor if you are light armor and vice-versa.
Wepons are different, you need to know which ones you can use. But then again, when you pass the mouse over it, you can see if your class can use it or not.

The OP is talking about adding another filter for Light, Medium, and Heavy armor. That way you can search:

Light – Gloves – Masterwork – between level 20-25 and only have results for gloves your level 25 mesmer can wear.

Yup, exactly what i mean.

It’s not a game breaking change – i’m not going to ragequit because of it but i think it would just get one of those little niggles out the way for some people and a nice addition for those that don’t really get bothered by it.

Please guys, can we have an option to filter the search results on the Black Lion Trading by armour type?

I know it may seem petty but it just seems logical for characters to only view armour that applies to their class does it not?

If there’s a setting already in the game that allows this then someone please correct me!

Hi All,

Enigma Gaming are recruiting players of all experiences and levels.

Having previously successfully run European and World class clans and guilds in games such as BF1942, BF2, GuildWars (1) and World Of Warcraft i have decided to branch out and begin a fresh with GuildWars 2.

There are very little members at the moment, and we are hoping to start building the core of the team with members willing to stick around in a growing environment rather than jump straight into a huge and established Guild.

We have no Website or Voice Comms as of yet because i want to become established in game before forking out real money to facilitate future endeavors. If things go to plan we will be hosting our own site and voice comms.

If your interested in being part of us or just want to say hello i’m contactable in-game via character name Yriesta.

Happy Hunting
