I assume that there are many people who have finished the elite spec. collection by now since the 100% map completion reward has been fixed. I’m just curious what do people think about these weapons.
It depends on what tier you got during the day and night, the higher the tier, the more crowbar you will get. Airship cargo can give you 25 airship parts if you are lucky, and if you kill lots of mobs you should have a lot of nuhoch hunting stash (nuhoch mastery 1) that can give you 105 airship parts (?), again, only if you are lucky, normally they only give 5. I think killing bosses at night also gives you some airship parts. At the end, it’s a matter of your luck. If you’re unlucky, then yes it’s really slow.
No.
Their decision of disincentivizing dungeons has disincentivized me to play GW2 further. I’ve sunk more than half of my playtime just to do dungeons/fractals because these are the things that I consider to be fun rather than spamming 1 in the open world meta event, and now that they are dead, I see no reason to play the game anymore. I don’t think I will be playing this game anymore in 2016 (probably just login for login rewards) let alone buying the new expansion. My progress of getting gold has significantly dropped since HoT launched, while some of the prices have gone ridiculously expensive. No progress = not fun. This is probably the reason why I don’t trust them anymore in making GW2 fun again.
Based on my experience, you can easily do a 100% map completion on central tyria in less than 50 hours, so if you play 7 hours / day, you should be able to finish everything in just 1 week.
I agree though that it gets boring after a while, mainly because they killed dungeons and fractals. I usually just afk on new maps everyday after 200% participation just to get the map tokens. My progress seems to be really slow after the expansion.
I would say revenant, they seem to be more promising.
I disagree, staff is really good for defensive purpose, you can block, remove condi, and evade with amazing CC. And revenant’s hammer arguably is the best ranged weapon for PvE as they can deal huge AoE damage with a very short cooldown.
Race? Charr master race, no question about it.
I’m actually not even sure that you need more than 1 healer as druid can already bring in lots of healing. I think what makes guardian better than revenant is because they can provide boons while revenant has no boon at all if they stay in ventari and if they switch back to glint, they will lose the healing tablet.
Probably running cleric to provide decent healing and be a tank. If aegis and stability is not needed, maybe they can use traps while kiting away the boss. I agree though that revenant seems to have better offensive and defensive potential than guardian unless if aegis or stability is needed during the fight.
Edit: I forgot that revenant is actually able to provide stability from jalis and lots of healing from ventari. Maybe guardian will be running zerk as usual and be an aegis bot.

Here are my thoughts:
1. Thief has no utilities
I don’t know who spread the lie about thief having so many utilities because apparently a lot of people think so. As far as I know, they only have smoke field for blind and stealth, but now even a ranger can provide smoke field, making them no longer unique. Ranger has lots of damage modifier, thief has none. Engineer undoubtedly is the most versatile class since they can do anything very well. ok, ranger may not be good for blind and stealth, but engineer definitely can do it just as well. The other thing thief has is mobility. But again, if I want mobility, I’d rather have a mesmer that can create a portal for the entire group or elementalist that can provide FGS. As for CC, the system has changed to break bar, there is no more reason to have a dedicated class for defiance stripping, all people just need to spam CC on cooldown.
2. DPS?
I don’t know about numbers, so i won’t make any claim here, but the problem is alacrity. Thief DPS doesn’t increase with alacrity due to the initiative they have, while engineer’s DPS will be greatly increased.
But that doesn’t mean that thief is useless, I believe they are still really good in short fights (dungeons and low level fractal). In long fights (high level fractal and raid), their DPS is simply outclassed by other professions (not just engineer), due to alacrity.
You can do 100% map completion, all achievements and mastery points on all 4 maps without ley line gliding, except:
1 mastery point in Nuhoch Lane – TD
“The Longest Glide” achievement – TD
“Pulse Room Glider” achievement – TD
“Highest Gear” achievement – AB
You can get a help from a mesmer for the mastery point and “Highest Gear”
