logged in about 20 minutes ago, game patched, hit Ready and hopped in the game world and.. WHOA. everything is Sepia toned, all player characters are stuck in “jesus pose” with arms out to the side, and all sounds are running slow (like pitched down 2 octaves).
What did you guys do? game was running perfectly yesterday, and now it’s broken.
If I come across someone who’s downed and still taking hits, time is of the essence and I have no time to sort through 5 corpses worth of loot before I can actually start getting them to their feet.
yea, this too! this is extremely frustrating and obnoxious. Anet: it’s not making our lives ‘easier’ putting these two completely different actions on the same button. stop trying to be apple here.. real gamers like customization, not all things on one button.
having Res on the same button as Loot is absolutely terrible gameplay design. i cant count how many times im engaged in an event in Orr or somewhere with waves of mobs and downed npcs, where im collecting loot only to have my char stop and get stuck ressing a downed npc who happened to be in the area of the loot corpses. read my lips Anet: DO NOT WANT.
look, if i want to res a player/npc there should be a separate button assigned to do exactly that.. so i can do that OR loot.. not both on the same kitten button. please fix this horrible design flaw in your game. thank you.
the extremely narrow FOV and poor camera has been a major topic since BW1, but Anet has barely addressed it, and may not have any plans to. unfortunately i know of at least 10 players who already quit playing GW2 due to the horrific camera issues. now that Pandas just came out, we have more players jumping ship, to go back to WoW’s simple and elegant camera/ui style (even though the game itself is a completely rotten dead horse at this point)
Anet.. come on son. you know and we all know that players have been using FOV 90 for close to a decade now, it’s an industry standard. just stop trying to get all ‘different’ on things like ui and camera, etc.. those are things you DON’T NEED TO BE MESSING WITH, especially if you’re going to do it wrong, like you have been in GW2 so far. it’s OK to copy the camera and ui from WoW, Blizz got it right… stop trying to reinvent the wheel, and just do what you do best: creating immersive, beautiful worlds.
yes please. i don’t want to have to see Commanders everywhere on my map. i don’t care who was able to buy a title. if i ever need a Commander i’ll turn ‘show commanders’ on.
this is NOT the way to fix content, and shows a complete laziness on the part of the Anet devs. seriously? rather than fixing the issue, you just put up an in game sign… SO LAZY.
whoever implemented this as a ‘fix’ should be fired, this is inexcuseably lazy.
GW2 is an absolutely gorgeous game with a completely HORRIBLE camera. seriously, there is no excuse for going live with such a terrible camera system in place.
example: Arah, the flying ship scenario. the camera passes outside the ship blocking all view of what’s going on with your character, and instead is showing you the hull of the ship. you CAN NOT see your character at all. you have to spend 75% of the time fighting the camera just to play the game. which begs the question: was this even tested in beta?
i definitely agree. it would be very nice to not have to dig through my inventory every time i wanted to switch to an alternate weapon set while out of combat.
I want the FoV changed also because half my time is spent spinning the camera… They could have easily changed it by now i’m guessing they haven’t because of pvp;/
some players use this as a reason to not unlock FoV customization, that it will somehow create an unfair situation in PvP. this is an idiotic argument, since players can already go into windowed mode and reduce their screen vertically immediately gaining a completely exaggerated FoV of greater than 180 degrees already.
quite simply, those who can’t understand the benefit of having a wider, natural FoV are console players who have little to no experience with PC gaming.
Ya, it is not changing any game mechanics here. Just an ease of use thing. Hitting H and right-clicking the items you want and selecting equip/equip in off hand… just takes a lot of effort to do.
exactly. having to manually hit H, go into the inventory, find your weapon and equip them EVERY time you just want to swap between another set is tedious at best. have mercy Anet.
me and my friends who comprise a PvP-centric guild that took part in the BWEs were super excited to get in WvW on launch as a guild and make a difference for our server. however, on top of not being able to get in together, most of the time our queues simply never pop, or pop 4+ hours later.
sadly, as it stands this week a few of my guild haven’t even logged in the past few days since the main reason they wanted to play GW2 was for the WvW and have been unable to play together as a team.
this is a potentially serious issue as it can determine whether players will stick with GW2, or simply move on/back to more PvP guild friendly games.
absolutely agree with this post 100%.
i can’t play GW2 with the default camera fullscreen settings. so as a result, i’m forced to have to play in windowed mode with 60% vertical space just to get a decent FoV… i HATE windowed mode, but have no choice if i want to have a natural, wide view of the game world.
please Anet: give us a wider more spherical FoV (broaden the sides and top), and a bit more zoom distance would be wonderful!
