Jesus Christ… I can’t even write a constructive comment right now due to all the rage I’m feeling…I’ll just come back later.
I have nothing against mounts, actually they would make a great addition to the game as long as it had some “rules” like the ones mentioned above by other players.
Waypoints are a good way to get around, but sometimes I like to do a little walking. having ground mounts and by ground i mean, simple cool steampunk gadgets like someone already said would be great. On the other hand I hope they never do flying mounts, that would be way too strange, I mean the map areas are kinda “instanced”, that would need a BIG change in order to make flying mounts plausible.
First of all, I used the search feature to check if someone had mentioned an idea like the one I’m about to explain. Since I didn’t found any topic like this one I decided to create it so I can share my idea on how guild halls should work and to check other players opinions.
1 – Guild Halls are a must have in Guild Wars 2 and I’m pretty sure Anet is already working on it, however if I’m not mistaken, you are probably making them in “instances”.
2 – I understand that making instances helps to relief the “servers”/overflows whatever you want to call them, but since in Guild Wars 2 prestige plays a major role (legendary weapons, special skins, etc) I believe Guild Halls should be a way to show that prestige to other players.
3 – All the major cities in this game are AMAZING! But they are empty, most players only gather at Lions Arch.
4 – Let players create their Guild Hall in the Major cities, guilds would have to pay a monthly fee (ingame gold), like a rent to have their hall in the city, the better the location, the more they would have to pay, that would allow Guilds to show their wealth and power and bring life to the major cities. I think that creating an instance inside those Guild Headquarters would be a great way to mix both concepts
5 – For smaller and less “powerful” guilds, they could “pay rent” on smaller villages, or in last case use an instance guild hall.
Just sharing my idea, feel free to discuss it and above all IMPROVE IT, ideas always get better when people start discussing them!
Cheers!
Harder achievements should award more points, it’s as simple as that. Like the OP said, before this new reward system, AP didn’t matter that much, so no one complained that harder achievements awarded the same points as dailies. I believe It’s time to change that and i hope Anet realises that too.
It would be great if it were like the HoM, however something tells me that it won’t. Why? because their post about the AP states you can “trade” them for currency, gold, gems or laurels.
My warrior with T3 Heavy armour
“Check out my T3 armour…oh this in my hand? Nah It’s nothing mate, just my super cool Sunrise!!!” (I think)
ehehe just kidding, love the T3 and love the Sword, cheers for your hardwork mate =)
I totally agree with you, Lost Shores was indeed memorable and epic, even with all the lag and confusion. It was an epic and hard battle, dozens of players teaming up and fighting that giant Karka…wow…It was intense and very fun. Besides, every time I go to Southsun Cove I’m like: “Man Lost Shores was really cool”.
Unfortunately that doesn’t happen with Flame and Frost Retribution, It was a great event no doubt about that, however when I returned to Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa Plateau It was like nothing happened in there at all. Everything (well almost everything) was back to normal. There should be something that future players could walk by and say: “Wow so this is where the Molten Facility was” or “What happened here?” and then some sign or memorial would explain them.
The point is that visual notes of big events are important and If there’s nothing that reminds you of what happened there then It’s forgettable.

I have been playing on Seaferer’s Rest for 8 months and I gotta say most people tend to be nice and helpful. Yesterday I was playing with a new character on Caledon Forest and the Champion Naga group event was active. I noticed two other players in the area and we immediately teamed up, even so the Naga was too strong for only 3 players. I asked for help in the map chat and seconds later there was an army of 9 or 10 players! So yeah, Seaferer’s Rest in my opinion is pretty good!
So I never talked to Rox and Brahme after I finished the Molten dungeon. I did every other thing required for the F&F achievements. But those two NPC’s are gone now, and I can never, ever speak to them again.
So no title for me, no 5/5 achievements, and no molten gauntlet ticket.
So my motivation to keep playing, and try the Southsun content is…?
Because what if I don’t finish all the achieves on time?
I understand that this situation might be upsetting, I also missed half of the halloween event because I had other things more important to do, however It was my own fault, I didn’t correctly manage my time. Anyway, It’s not the end of the world, there are other things to do, 4/5 achievements is actually pretty good mate!
Take a look at most of the armour in the game and you’ll note that:
1) It’s not tiny or full of glowy whatsits, so it’s not Asuran.
2) It’s not made of leaves; not Sylvari.
3) It’s not made of fur; not Norn.
4) It’s not covered in spikes; not Charr.
Hence, most of the clothing and armour anybody wears, is actually Human. Divinity’s Reach is the Tyrian capital of fashion and there is no way I would be born anywhere else. Let them insult our past, let them insult our politics, but they will never insult our tailoring. When Primordus comes up through the Great Collapse and calls the lack of Cantha to account, we will be there to defend the Tailoring station to the last drop of blood and they Elder Dragons will know that the tide has turned.
I love your enthusiasm about human tailors xD
My first Guild Wars campaign was Cantha, I loved it! But don’t take me wrong, I also loved Tyria and Elona, however since Cantha was my first experience I’m way more attached to it than the others. I really hope that in a future expansion we will be able to visit a whole new cantha, I’m eager to know how 250 years changed that place (or didn’t change).
For various reasons I had stopped playing GW2, wether because I didn’t had time, or simply because I had other games to play, however this content made me come back, not only to experience new events but also to do “old content” things like fractals and other dungeons. Living Story brought me back, but It’s not the only thing keeping me around, like some other guys already said, Guild missions/rushes/bounties are extremely fun, there’s always something to do in GW2, you just need to find them.
Mesmer is extremely fun, creating phantasms and clones is awesome, however It’s play style is much more active and stressful than a Guardian. Since you already played as a caster I recommend you to try Guardian.
Before the game was released i decided i would go as a Norn Ranger, however I couldn’t do it.
I ended up creating My human mesmer, noble descendent of my GW1 character. Besides, humans are awesome, they have survived countless battles before and still continue to fight!
Also I’m a follower of the Six Gods.
Don’t forget, although silent they continue vigilant.
Zoltan reminds me those “wizard machines” that you insert a coin and they tell you the “future” ahahaha, I like the combinaton of Zoltan Fury, i give it a 8/10.
My noble Human Mesmer is called “Aldir Valentine”.
Aldir came from one of the characters in Lord of the Rings, he is the one leading the elves that go to Helms Deep. His name is actually spelled “Haldir”. I appreciate this character for his honour and skill.
Valentine came from good old Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII. Always liked his personality; quiet and mysterious yet powerful and unforgivable.
So that’s it, hope you like it!
Tipping is common since GW1.
I remember the old days when people “runned” to Droknar for tips, It’s perfectly normal.
Woow! This looks great! Do you guys still gather every friday at 21:00 GMT? Would love to join you for some fun!
