Greetings Tyrians,

Some of you may know me as Mouse from GW2Community, some of you may not. I’m here to invite you to the 2016 Stop the Stigma Gameathon. A 24 hour event to raise awareness and money for mental health charities.

*PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder) is developed after a traumatic event, around 8% of the population will suffer from it at some point of their life.
*Due to the often violent nature of their work, the illness it is much more prominent within the armed forces.
*At present around 1 in 3 returning troops are diagnosed with severe PTSD, yet only 40% will seek help.
*In 2008 suicide related deaths began to outnumber combat related deaths.

Statistics chosen come from a ptsd charity and are referring to the prominence of ptsd within the smaller group that is the armed forces in comparison with the population as a whole. They in no way mean to suggest that non-armed forces do not suffer from this terrible illness.

On the weekend of 11th – 13th November we will be raising money for the following two charities:

Help for Heroeshttp://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/

A charity dedicated to helping members of the Armed Forces, both active and retired, to rebuild their lives supporting them through injuries and illness.

The PTSD Foundation of Americahttp://ptsdusa.org/

A charity dedicated to combating PTSD, raising awareness, and giving back to veterans.

Both of these charities have a similar cause and both are fighting to remove the stigma around mental illness which prevents so many for getting the help they require. We aim to assist in their mission this November and we ask you to join us!

During the event we will be giving away a Black Lion Skin every hour! That’s right you’ll have 24 chances to win a new skin. But that’s not all, we have some more in store for you. There will also be random giveaways of gold & materials at random points throughout the stream and at the very end of the stream anyone who has donated £10(UK Charity)/$10(US Charity) or more will be entered into a raffle to win the Bifrost. That’s right, we’re giving away a legendary weapon to one lucky donator.

Make sure to save the date! The full event will start Saturday 12th November at 13:00 CET and will run until Sunday 13th November at 13:00 CET.

Join us on TeamSpeak (ts.gw2community.com) if you want to participate and make sure to watch the stream posted on the day.

On the day pages for donations will be posted, make sure to watch out for them!

These charities have an important cause for me and many others who suffer or have family who suffer from mental illness, so I hope we, as a community, can do a little something about it!

For more information in the run up to the event you can also check www.gw2community.com.

No money will go directly to any member of the community, all donations will be processed through pages set up to go directly to the charities mentioned.

One of the merchants within fotm sells a fractal weapon chest, this is where to buy the skins. It’s the third item on the list I believe ^^
I also have all skins unlocked now but it only shows 6/19 in the collection…

About TEU:

TEU was originally founded on Blacktide server a little while after launch. Eventually we transferred to Desolation and have remained there since. With the introduction of the megaserver system we opened our doors to players from all servers to join us for all of our PvE & PvP content and from there we grew. Now we sit as a medium 170 member guild that is actively growing and finding new things to do in preparation for HoT.

Can confirm, if Seka enters our Teq/wurm maps on her warrior we end up with lag that makes the event last 3 times as long :P

As and Officer and World Boss Commander of the GW2community I fully support this. As it is now many of our members do not have the ability to play during these hours and before we would have the freedom of staying in the map for the next spawn if our first attempt failed. Now until one of our guilds builds the upgrade we wont have a second attempt which does not seem fair on those that have been participating. Often with these events in particular the three-headed wurm just 1 person not paying attention can cost a kill. Believe me I have seen it happening on Cobalt wurm plenty of times.

While I do participate in these harder bosses I am also a casual player I am a student with a job also and cannot always play to a schedule, as are many other players with university or full time jobs. Personally I do not see what was wrong with the previous spawn times at least for three-headed wurm, tequatl and karka queen, I feel only letting each region have 1 ‘prime-time’ spawn is a little ridiculous. I personally do not know of anyone that would be attempting Wurm at 5am CET and most players would probably be at work/school etc for the 2:30pm CETspawn also, this leaves one spawn time that will probably still be too early for some people. I live in the UK and we are currently in BST however when it comes to winter time again Wurm will spawn at 6pm for me, most players that are older than highschool age (around 17) will only just be getting in from work/university etc around this time and will not be able to participate at all as the maps will be full by then.

And with this we come to the new guild upgrade to spawn world bosses. Our community is made up of several world boss guilds that are quite large in the number of players they have. However these guilds are non-rep as they are purely for these world bosses and so most players only represent them during these fights. Due to this they do not have an endless supply of influence and merits to spawn these bosses as many do not have the required requisite of guild challenge. As an officer in a reasonably sized guild I can say that our own guild could possibly contribute 1 maybe 2 spawns a week due to the cost it is to get each consumable. This consumable needs to be more affordable for smaller guilds to get it themselves, as it is 10K influence AND 20 merits seems too much. Especially since to spawn all 3 bosses we would need 30K influence and 60 merits per day! Since the maximum number of merits that can be earned per week from doing all missions (including trek which most guilds don’t run after challenge is unlocked) is 110 this means we can spawn all three bosses for 1 day of the week. Merits should either be excluded from this consumable or reduced significantly.

I think I have reiterated the main issues Mkkoll has raised and I really do hope A-net takes this into consideration as I know we are not the only community with these concerns. Apart from this however the new patch is amazing! ^^

Feedback/Questions: The Megaserver System: World Bosses and Events

I’m currently part of a GW2 EU community with members from several guilds and servers. We currently organise large boss fights, mainly the three headed jungle wurm and tequatl, on a daily basis. My main issue with this is the order of the spawn. If we are only going to have one reasonable chance a day to fight these bosses, until a guild in our community can unlock the upgrade, then I feel we should be given a reasonable attempt.

Out of the 3 hardcore bosses the three headed jungle wurm needs the most organisation while karka queen needs the least. With this in mind it would then make sense to spawn the three headed jungle wurm first, with tequatl at the next hour and then karka queen the following hour. This allows for a reasonable set up time for all three bosses. With the three-headed jungle wurm currently spawning last it will be impossible to kill it unless we completely disregard tequatl, again until we can spawn using the upgrade.

I feel the easiest way to combat this is to switch the spawn of these three around to the most sensible order for time allowed to set up. Another option could be to disregard the timers at the april 15th patch and instead implement the new upgrade to be researched but not used. This would give large guilds and communities like ours the chance to prepare for the upcoming event timers instead of leaving us with no option but to miss one of these daily.

Was this fixed in the most recent patch? Had a few failed runs due to people being afraid to do too much DPS in case they bug it…
