Both, want to play at high ratings on necro? Need 2 stunbreaks.
No kidding? How does this effect damage output as a condimancer? I find signet of spite is fairly important for me and so is epidemic at times.
Thoughts?
Yes signet of spite is overpowered but i find it too situational, signet of spite + epidemic is way way too situational.
Necro can kitten up whole enemy team without use of any utilities its no art, the difference between good and bad necro is how good he can survive against strong team.
From my experience:
Flesh wurm: a MUST have, its only real survibility that necro have, good players that coordinate CC will completely destroy you otherwise.
Corrupt boon: ive been using this since forever, and its just kitten useful every single game, be it saving yourself, stopping stomp/revival or just mitigating someone burst in teamfight.
Spectral walk: very versatile stunbreak that can be used in many different ways + gives mobility that necro lacks so badly, and sometimes you can combine it with flesh wurm for what i call spectral stomp (yes sometimes safestomping someone is worth sacrificing 2 utilities)
Now only other necro utility that i consider on same level in high end pvp is signet of spite. I consider it cheesy and overpowered + i think it will get nerfed someday so i never use it, BUT if i would be fine with using it then i dont even know what i would give up for it.
What i like about my utility setup is that they dont rely on enemy, they are effective whenever i use them, with signet of spite i would have to be very very careful cause it has 0.75 s cast time and if i waste it then it doesnt benefit me in any way.
If you pull off signet of spite at right time on right target and it succeeds and enemy cant counter it then yes it will be devestating for one target, but thats actually not that often as you could wish.
Im not saying that i have problems with thiefs or something im saying that they just destroy the PVP they just make you play completely different way and unbalances whole game.
Its just wrong that one class is so much different from every other class.
For example elementalist, he can negate ranged burst and kite melee classes, against thief it just doesnt work cause you cant kite thief and if you avoid one of hes bursts he just burst again cause of no cooldowns.
Or from offensive aspect, for example you see warrior use berserker stance so you dont use burst, then you wait till its over and you know he hasnt defensive cooldowns so you burst him. VS thief he can use PW or Stealth to survive your burst but that doesnt mean that you can burst him, you basicly just have to shoot and hope thief doesnt avoid it.
Basicly all zerkers are unviable only because there is such thing as thiefs.
You get a bit higher on leaderboards than you normally were and then BAM horrible loose streak, i dont mean like 2-3 looses of close matches but just BAD loose streak where you cant do anything about it.
Im normally sitting on 50-100 spot and im fine with it, but then i occasionally get higher and it just freaking sucks.
Week before new year got into top 50 and then 7 looses in row.
Yesterday got into top 25 and then next game was loose that has continued today in total 8 looses.
The tactic is very simple, dont loose close and farm mid but i just cant force my team to do it. We cap 2 points they always go for 3rd and we loose, even just now on my 8th loose our mesmer couldnt keep close for kitten ok i say go support mid and i will play close + mid, we do it, then they cant take mid at all, i kill decapper asap and go take the mid, at last we are about to win and im like sweating and pinging mid + close… whatcha think? the fallas go far, loose mid, get farmed at far and we loose… All is vain
It really feels that if your doing too good then you get dragged down. I know what is bad luck but how can you go from 25 to 500+ with 8 looses in row… multiple times…
Ok i have waited like half year since last i wrote this.
But must say this again – if you are going to balance the whole class around beeing able to enter death shroud then make it so we are always able to enter death shroud when its off cooldown.
Make it something like you can enter death shroud for 2 second when have no life force (even tho as hero of tyria i should have some life force as long as im alive right?)
Im just sick of having to summon/kill minions before every tournament match, or just that i need to damage downed enemy more just to generate life force.
Today i had to sit in clocktower and shoot necrotic grasp at wall (yes clocktower walls generate LF), just cause enemy team had pistol whip thief and if he catches me without life force im dead.
Why the hell just because i didnt autoattack wall 4 times i deserve to be without class mechanic when facing enemy.
