I’d rather have a Race Change than a Class Change, but both would be nice. They talk about all the complications with the personal story if you were to change races, but screw the personal story. If you change your race, just reset the personal story, and if we want to do it again we can. (at no XP or Item gain) If we don’t want to bother with it, then we don’t have to. The personal story is pretty insignificant in the long run anyway. I’ve wasted too much money over the years on these types of services. I name/alliance/race changed way too many times in WoW.
*And up through the ground came a bubblin’ crude.
Oil that is. Black Gold. Tyria Tea.Well the next thing ya know ole Scar’s a billionaire.
Kinfolk said, Scar move away from there!
They said Northern Cantha is the place you outta be
So she loaded up the drill and she moved in ole Kaineng.*-_-; you put a lot of effort into that didn’t you…
Took me 2 weeks.
I usually use my memory, it’s one of those high tech and super expensive gadgets you need to go out and buy. Oh wait…
Btw stop bumping this, there are already many methods at your disposal for dealing with this, so we have NO IDEA what you’re hoping to gain at all here. Memory, write it down, notepad, excel, memory.
They should remove the information on each map of what you’ve discovered and what hearts you’ve completed too, because it will be just as easy to remember.
non zerg based LS content
more lore/story delivered in game
more serious contentis a joke.
Marionette, current objective in LA as case in point
Scarlet’s Lair, LA beach instance, Deadend Bar, the refugee camps
LA is a warzone and the surrounding lands are dealing with the fall out- you have NPC’s talking of mass graves and dead children.
You have droves of dying Lion Guard
the city itself is a hell hole atmseems pretty serious to me
Not saying that these things were not planned months ago-
I do however think that the writers learning to script and the ambient dialogue, story instances were a result of the CDIIgnoring the fact that Marionette and LA are zergs in which you follow around a commander for phat lewt, it’s clear that we have different expectations.
Story instances where I’m forced to listen to NPC’s I don’t care about talk is not what I’d consider content.Molten/Atherblade dungeon on the otherhand were decently challenging content.
NPC’s standing around talking means nothing, nameless NPC’s dying means nothing. Who cares if Nameless Vigil soldier A remarks to Nameless Vigil soldier B about how many people are being killed. If the people actually got massacred in front of the PC I would probably take it more seriously.
Yeah since I just recently returned to the game about a month ago, I have no interest whatsoever in these characters or the story. Now, if I were still able to go back and play through the earlier LS content, then it might be a different story. But Anet’s current zergfest LS events kind of make being able to go back and play through these things impossible. So for right now, I basically just skip through all the dialogue so I can get the achievement.
Someone told you wrong. Repeating the same event over and over wouldn’t be anything to get banned over. Worst case scenario is that Anet will change the spawn times of the event so that people can’t farm it as frequently. Best thing for you to do is keep quiet about it and make your gold.
I guess playing through the storylines in SWTOR during my off-time from GW2 didn’t help either. The story and voice acting in it are not even comparable. Anet hired really talented voice actors (Jennifer Hale, Troy Baker), I guess it really is all in the direction though. If they are just handed a script and told to read, GW2’s story is what you get.
I’m confused where we aren’t getting new content. Eotm was a rather substantial update.
THIS is a substantial update:
-new story
-41 new armor sets, including rare, stand-alone pieces
-100 new profession-specific skills (10 per profession, none of which are elite)
-50 new PvE only skills including 3 elite skills
-10 new heroes
-18 Dungeons
-124 new quests
-The Hall of Monuments
-4 new regions (which were comprised of 24 zones, yes that’s right, 24!)This is what we got for one of the gw1 expansions (eye of the north)
And you paid full price for it…
Free content:
Sorrow’s Furnace
Domain of Anguish
Hard Mode
GW Beyond. All of those together are at least equal to all the LS we got so far… and are in addition to the expansions.
Those exceed the LS. And those are all still in GW1 today, and can be played at your leisure.
Don’t worry, people will now complain about the 200 gems per episode if they miss the LS content when it’s current.
You won’t hear it from me. I’ve got no problem logging in for a few minutes to unlock something. I just don’t always have time to dive into the content. But now, all I’ll have to do (barring some kind of crazy emergency) is log in, unlock, and then I can play it whenever I like. Very nice work, Anet.
If I were picking new races, I would say Kodan, Tengu, and one of my favorite suggestions..Djinn!
I don’t know what they’ve done (lore-wise) with the Djinn, but I think it’d be a cool race to have in the game. Very different than anything you’ll see in other MMOs. A Ruby Djinn elementalist would be awesome.
Who’s to say that guild halls wouldn’t come with new content?
“Momma….what’s “new content” mean?"
“Well Forrest…it’s when something is added to the game, and then it never comes back.”

Yeah I see no need at all for heroes in the open world. But I’d love to have them for dungeons/fractals so that I could actually run them without having to worry about going AFK for 10-15 minutes.
I’m not against 5-man endgame…. if they give me back my kitten heroes.
I’d love to see this, but the AI needs MAJOR improvements before this could happen.
The only way ArenaNet will ever get another penny from me is to release an expansion pack. I will NEVER spend any real cash in the gem store. I am against cash shops.
And how would you suggest them getting the money to develop said expansion without the cash shop?
Uhm… the same way they developed Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North, and Guild Wars 2?
Well of those you mentioned only EOTN was a true expansion, the rest are also games on their own.
I love how the Living Story defenders use this argument.
“EOTN was the only expansion. Factions and Nightfall were ENTIRE GAMES! With a ridiculous amount of content!!! kitten ! I got you….”
Uhhh…no. No you didn’t. You got yourself there, champ.
I like how you TLDR’d that small paragraph. Are people getting THAT lazy these days?
As far as capes go, I’d love to see them. I’ve always loved a good cloak. (The cloaks in WoW are nice) As long as they are designed differently than the GW1 guild capes. They were too short and just looked goofy. I want a long flowing cloak with a possible hood. Of course you could have the feature to hide it if you don’t like the look. It would go in your back slot, so you could either use existing back pieces or go with a cape.
The clipping issues on Charr would probably be tough to work on, but I’m sure they could figure something out.
This is just a state of mind. When you turn on the radio, you don’t worry about the thousand shows you missed across all the radio stations since yesterday. You turn on the radio to listen to the show that is on now. Treat your GW2 the same way. Log on and play the living story that is there now. A returning player has exactly the same content now as anyone else. Just like the radio, you don’t need to know what has gone before in order to enjoy what is there now.
There should be a story line recap for returning players. Comparing the storyline to Game of Thrones is a bit laughable though.
Using the radio is a bad example. Even radio shows are archived and can be listened to again. Songs? They’ll come on again, or I can buy them and listen to them as much as I want. So, of course I won’t worry about what was on before I started listening.

I guess it all depends on who looks at it, I believe the world changes and zone changes that have been added to the game amount for an expansions worth of content. There have been new zones that opened up for the living story, just because it did not stick around. Which even if it did people would still only play it for a few weeks then be done waiting for the next thing. I really dislike the old model of how expansions were handled, and look forward to how A-Net is handling it. I do not need a new class/race to feel that they released an expansions worth of content. Or a new zone that is added that i visit once beat all the vistas and hearts and then never go back until I create a new character, or kill a champ in the zone.
I think they handled Eye of the north perfectly.
Yes they did. EotN was a great expansion that people played for a LONG time. They weren’t finished in two weeks.
