Druid Transformation Speculation (img inc)

There is another thread on this same topic. Frankly when I think Druid, I think the Shapeshifting Druid from D&D.

Wishful thinking on my part is that in the video shown, we didn’t see a Druid and his pet. We saw two Druids, one in human form wielding the staff, and the other in wolf form. Neither had a pet because the pet mechanic is removed when specializing in Druid.

It’s a far shot, but perhaps Anet was being sneaky

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Well all this ranger setups are not wrong, but aren’t efficient either.

Dude just go with 6 2 6 0 0 build and make sure you get yourself
~ reflex
~ signet of stone…
~ 3rd utility is optional HUNT/RENEWAL/MUD
~ ELITE RAO ( dont bother taking Entangle, every person that is not kittened will simply dodge or stealth to avoid it)..

Let me explain why mud terrain is ok, but not so awesome as every one advertise it as viable, every skill that ranger has is basically CASTING from 3/4 and up to 2 seconds. It’s so easy to break rangers combination. so i always avoid mud terrain, i rather have 25% speed and 150% extra damage on your pet, it’s is just insane, who ever will get close to you, will either get feared or stomped hard. 3rd utility is always nice to have rune as Hunt Or Renewal.
If you decide to take Renewal for condi removal, you can change wilderness XI rune for XII to get 50% reduced damage when under 25% HP.

And almost always use Troll Unguent. when you drop below 80-85%. I almost don’t use heal as one, because i benefit more from TU then Heal as One, because when you take 50% HP damage to heal up again it’s mostly to late already.

Key of this build is s/d, you’ll be very very squishy with this build, but on the other hand u’ll be extremely pain in the kitten because you can dodge and kite every incoming damage if you can time it correctly.

Enjoy and feel free to kick some butts

You have like 40% crit chance… Would be better to mix soldier/berseker armor set to avoid been so glass?? The 201% ferocity will not do much in this cases…

I play high risk high reward, no point playing something what doesnt bust my adrenaline Having that in mind gives me extra motivation for no failure and you know by your own, that if you forgive yourself 3 hits u are gone, same with you, 200 extra armor for 200 less power wouldn’t change a thing.

Ranger is not made to take hits unless you want to play it that way, but then again i wouldn’t go for what i’m running, learn to play flawless brain AFK is not the way to go, that’s why rangers are hated

Wish I could get back to GW1.. PvP-GvG. It feels like we are outcasted, not desired or rewarded..

Hybrid Longbow Build (aoe)

I don’t play pvp but this build looks like a lot of fun. I guess noone would expect a LB to apply bleeding + burning

Oh, it can. I use it in one of my builds along with superior sigil of incapacitation. Only issue is that sigil is on critical. So to make solid use of it can be tricky but it is super fun. I also run that sigil on one of my guardian builds.

I should note that I use it in WvW – I just noticed this was s/tPvP – my apologies

Just killed 6 quaggans in Se 1/3. It’s not my fault, I can’t help but knockback stuff whenever someone starts a rooting channeled skill like 100b or pistol whip.

If you had a bear bow, you’d understand the instinct. Too bad you are not invited into yo leet bear bow club.

Is the ranger good?

All the other classes do “offensive” support. But they do it better plus they provide real support to the group. Even without the frost spirit they do much more damage than the ranger.
What good is the ranger for then when you can have in that spot an ele or engie?

Yeah, all of them. Especially the necromancer, the staple of all dungeon runs!

What good is that engie when adding it to the team won’t make the run jack kitten faster than having the ranger there? FrostSpotter more than cancels out the extra vuln the engie provides, and everything else the engie brings to the table is already covered by other classes.

Much more damage as in every other class having a better personal dps? EEEEP, wrong, again. Potensial damage, both personal and what is provided by the ranger’s buffs, are the last two thing you wanna complain about if you’re gonna start bashing the ranger and its usefulness.

We’re talking about being viable. The ranger is more than viable, having a great personal dps while contributing to the party. OP specifically asked if rangers get kicked out of dungeons, and your response was that they’re not welcomed. That is wrong. A proper played ranger IS welcome despite lacking in defensive utilities. We’re not talking about speedruns records attempts where you’d want two eles, a war, a thief and a mes/guard.

I’m a celestial spirit ranger using SB/Sword/Torch and 0/0/6/6/2 with Emphatic bond .

this is your problem. both SB and sword rely on autoattack so youre eating a lot of confusion damage. that build also does weak damage so you cant expect to kill anything in a timely fashion.

Pet sort order changed?

I’ve noticed my wolf no longer reliably opens with its knockdown, it seems to be rng now, and if I quickly swap to use the fear on people stomping an ally I better make sure to target one of the players or my wolf will run to narnia to use its fear on someone.

Pet responsiveness seems to have taken a hit as well. I’ll hit return to me about 50 times and my pet just gives me that, ”You’re not my supervisor!” look as he dives into all the aoe he can find.

If you’re having trouble with Lightning Reflexes it sounds like you just have to pay better attention to where you’re facing when you hit it because you will evade backwards. If you have you’re back to a zerg and hit LR you’ll evade right into them like you described.

For conditions you have any combination of Healing Spring, SoR, Evasive Purity, Empathic Bond, and SotF. There are also Sigils of Generosity, Purity, and Cleansing.

As for fighting stealthed targets you have Sick ‘Em and Rapid Fire. Also try and time a Counterattack for when a Thief should be coming out of stealth, or use Barrage on their Shadow Refuge to try and force them out of it. If you’re having trouble with timing just add as much distance as you can.

Edit: Forgot to mention condition reduction Runes and Food.

I used to play Fractals directly after their release, but i stopped because they were too annoying in several ways. Havent played them at all after the introduction of the newer fractals. Should i really learn all the new mechanics now from youtube- vids or other sources before i can even think of entering? You know how you will be insulted in the fractals (or other dungeons) if you dare to not know all mechanics by heart and have to figure out what to do in the beginning, even if you are basically an experienced player. If you dont move to the correct pixel at once, and attack the one of 20 mobs you are supposed to attack, and use the correct class and weapon and build, And dont know all exploits the “community” has found during the last year, you will be called **** and **** and **** immediately.

With the toxic dungeon community in this game there is no way i will start with fractals again. But i would certainly appreciate a way to spend my 1000s of wvw badges in a reasonable way.

I really would like developers to start utilizing those finally

You already have the NPC that can be used to sell those – same NPC that sells gift of battle.

And the number of badges required can be increased.

Anet please don’t forget about us – WvW only players :<
Please start using those badges to provide us with items we need to craft the new items so we can feel part of this game.

Stop isolating WvW players.

Feeling like the unwanted child for past 2 years started to hurt a lot lately.

losing connection in group events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lady Celtaine.3760

Lady Celtaine.3760

So little back story here did several group events in the last week where right at the last moment just before the end poof! lost connection. All that time and effort for big fat 0 reward.

Can ANET pls incorporate a system where if you lose or drop connection before the end of these events that you are rewarded “posthumously” when you log back into the same character on the same map?

Presumably it shouldn’t be difficult for the game to temporarily remember what a player did during an event prior to losing connection, considering the data going to and from the servers to users pc’s has no problem remembering our position on the map.

Because as it stands I’m not going to bother helping in these events from now on if I continue to get robbed of my due reward at the end of it.

Necromancer sucks.. Sucks really bad.

Necromancers don’t depend on minions at all. Most of the strong builds in wvw/pve don’t really use minions at all. Though there is a certain point in talking about mediocrity of minions although since the health buff I don’t really see them as that bad. Sadly, they are strong in pvp, and the balance team is why we can’t have good things.

Bone minions are actually really strong. The cooldown is short, and can be used as 2 blast finishers. Along with flesh golem, they are a solid choice in non-minion builds.

I’m no fan of bone fiend, and single target immobolize isn’t that exciting; damage is meh and it dies fast. This could use a retooling.

Shadow fiend is good and is often one of the more durable minions. It’s blind is kinda there and I guess sort of boring, but not too bad.

Not really sure why Flesh Golem is put in here. Only problem is that it doesn’t work underwater. It does good damage and has an AOE knockdown and the cooldown is reasonable for an elite skill.

In any case, you’d get a lot of agreement in the poor design of the class, but just because minionmancers are niche doesn’t mean there aren’t many other builds that work.

There is so much fail here I cannot tell if this is unbelievably dumb or an epic troll.

To be fair, a lot of people including myself initially rolled the class to manage minions and were underwhelmed.

And Anet doesn’t really care about this class. OP just got it right for the wrong reasons.
