I'm colour blind - here are some major problems I have

I only have two playability issues with the game as is that arise from being color blind. Firstly, the red/green nameplates for enemies/friendly, respectively, are very VERY hard to see in most, if not all, terrains. I know there is something there, but god forbid I am ever able to read the names or see the % on the bar. Especially a problem in big fights where I don’t have time to click and look at the main target plate at the top.

What I am asking is a way to scale up the size of these nameplates so people like me can actually see whats happening. Blue would be nice, but even blues are hard for me to see on certain backdrops, especially given the small size of the nameplates.

Related are enemies “AoE circles” that show up to warn of AoE. Now, I know these are supposed to be subtle and not super obvious, but they are often impossible for me to see at all. I don’t know how a change to this would help without making it too obvious for normal-visioned people, but it is a serious issue for me.

Thanks for reading, I hope these issues can be addressed.

Regards,

Troy

I am not color blind, but I am supporting this.

The ability to customize colors in the game interface would help (ex. text, aoe marks, enemy highlights, etc).

Cheers!

I’m not colorblind, but considering the amount of information that evolves around colors in Guild Wars 2, it’s a bit astounding that there are no support for it.

I did a paper on this subject in college and found a larger problem. Research shows that approximately 7% of the IT workforce has “ethical flexibility” when it comes to online crime (i.e. it’s ethically OK if they’re not stopped from doing it).

Take note…these are the people who manage the IT where your name and password are stored. As all IT security professionals are trained, the biggest threat is NOT the unknown hacker outside—-it’s the system administrator with a login working for the company. Yes, it really happens, the system does not have to get hacked for your information to get out to the buyers.

Never trust that your login is protected within a system. It’s only as secure as the most dishonest employee of the company. Always assume that your login has already been stolen and never use the same one between systems.

So, I did as you said, changed my email and password to secure my account best way possible; But my account has yet to be autherized by you. Every time I launch the game it says my account is not autherized and when I send the varification email, It will not appear!
Today I relogged since the trading post was bugged and It had to run sort of a test, an archieve varification. It was done and I got in but I don’t want this to happen once more, so please, send me the varification email to my email adress manually.

Now I have a suggestion to sort all your hacking problems. Create the option where a costumer could have pin codes for logging in from different computers, different characters, and banks. I think this can solve alot and people will feel alot more safe.

Just a thought

So a friend of mine and I were talking about the recent waves of hacking and the reports of people seeing hackers logged into friends accounts. and others sitting watching helplessly as a guild leaders compromised account cleans out their guild bank. I had seen reports of people submitting tickets and the hackers still not being stopped in time, due to the need of the reps need to check facts and investigate.

I made the comment that it would be nice to see a link on the site where a person could go and enter the original email account that was used for creation and their CD key and get the account instantly logged out of the game and blocked pending a Response to a ticket.

Given that those two bits of information may be very difficult for anyone other than the original owner to actually have, it should be a fairly reliable method of quickly booting unauthorized users from your account. both for A-net who should be able to assume that it is in fact a legit request from the actual owner. and for the player who with any luck can stop a hack attempt before they make off with everything.

This could also reduce the work a customer service rep needs to do to repair hacker damage. And of course restoration of the account would have to go through the normal ticket system which would verify fully the information of the account.
